Episode 3915

Australian Air Date: 12th March 2005

The Stalker enacts a vicious and bloodthirsty attack. Hayley discovers the truth about Lisa. Kim’s first date with Zoe ends in tragedy. Josie’s attempt to bring Marc down could cost her her life. Peter gets closer to discovering the Stalker’s identity.

SNR. CONST. McGRATH (KIM KNUCKEY)
First appearance. Assisted Peter in interviewing Marc over ‘the Stalker’ allegations.

> ‘The Stalker’ is seen for the seventh time, attacking Zoe in the park. It can’t be Kim is seen rushing to Zoe’s defence and it is unlikely to be Zoe as she is actually attacked (although this is not seen). It is also suggested (via shaky, low-angle camera work) that ‘the Stalker’ may have been spying on Josie and Marc earlier during their angry confrontation, ruling them out as well.

Extended Summary

Peter’s suddenly got his groove back! The van proves that all the incidents are the work of the stalker. Half a photo is found showing a girl in her early 20s with a red day-bag. She stands next to the van in front of an obscured sign. This could be a huge lead. Meanwhile at the Diner, Kim and Zoe meet Lisa looking for Scott. They realise neither Scott nor Hayley have been sighted since last night! Scott and Hayley are asleep in each other’s arms in the storeroom. They wake up and awkward eye contact is made. It’s about to get steamy when the door bursts open and Lisa, Kim and Zoe burst in.

Josie meets Marc with a hidden recorder, determined to prove he’s the stalker. She asks leading questions and Marc thinks she’s gone insane. He storms off, with her in pursuit. He turns on her and discovers the recorder. He destroys the tape in a rage, he menaces Josie only to be accosted by Zoe. Josie is stricken that she’s lost her evidence, but realises she’s got the next best thing…Zoe. She drags Zoe over to Peter and he hauls Marc in for questioning. Marc is outraged – this is just Josie’s way of getting back at him. All his alibis check out. Peter lets him go with a warning to stay away from Josie. But Marc heads straight to Josie’s apartment to confront her. On his way out, he crosses paths with Zoe and threatens her. Zoe is petrified and Josie realises her attempt to frame Marc has back-fired. Marc deliberately feeds Josie outrageous comments in the hope she’ll discredit herself in Peter’s eyes. And she does. Peter warns her to keep out of it. But Josie doesn’t care. She’ll do what she has to do, and if anything happens – it’s on his head.

Hayley admits to Zoe she feels something for Scott, but there’s nothing she can do – he’s with Lisa. Zoe thinks Hayley should tell Scott everything. Lisa asks Hayley to dinner. She wants to get to know Scott’s friends better. Hayley declines at first, but Lisa won’t take no for an answer. At the dinner, Scott senses Hayley’s unease. Lisa’s strange antics with her mobile phone (letting it ring out when it calls), raise Hayley’s suspicions about Lisa. Then later on when Scott is out of the room, Lisa tells Hayley how she’d like to get more serious with Scott – which doesn’t sit easily with Hayley. While Lisa’s in the bathroom, Hayley checks her mobile text messages and finds one which reads: “Hi honey, me and the kids miss you. Can’t wait until you’re home. Love Alan’…

Peter’s enthusiasm turns to frustration. There’s no match on the photo and the rego plate on the van was false. He shows the photo around town and Hayley recognises the sign in the background. It was destroyed by the fires – the photo must have been taken before the fires. Peter suddenly realises the girl in the photo could be the burnt body found in the bush. He needs more evidence to give a clue to the identity of the girl. And that’s when we see a pair of gloved hands pulls out a red day-pack from a hole in the bush…the same one as in the photo with the girl…

Zoe and Kim are on their date and Zoe keeps thinking she hears noises in the bush. When Kim goes to investigate in the bush, he hears a scream from Zoe and runs back to find her arm cut and bleeding…The Stalker strikes again!
