Will Robbo finally get caught? Hunter and Jennifer start a surprise romance. Dean confronts Colby about their shared past.

Extended Summary

Robbo is running along a beach path with Ash and Dean close behind him; Robbo seems to be struggling with his leg. Hunter and Jennifer come up from the beach; Jennifer says it was just a kiss and doesn’t need to mean anything. Hunter asks if it did but then Jennifer gets knocked over by Robbo as he, Ash and Dean run past. John comes over to help the youngsters. Robbo runs down the road but sees a ute full of River Boys approaching so changes direction down a narrow path. Ash and Dean follow after gesturing for the others to go round. John brings Jennifer some ice for her shoulder and tells her and Hunter the police are on their way. Robbo ducks behind a bush, checking his leg. Ash calls out to him and Robbo breaks cover and carries on. Hearing sirens, Ash tells Dean to keep the police busy while he goes after Robbo. The police arrive but Dean and other River Boys including Taz block their way. Murray tries to get them to part but someone tackles him. A scuffle breaks out and Colby knocks Dean down; he is about to punch him when Dean, bewildered, recognises him. Colby cuffs him and, with the other River Boys restrained, he and Murray go after Robbo and Ash.

Alf is trying to convince Tori to let him go home before accepting he’s got nothing to go back to; his mood doesn’t improve much when she mentions that Roo called asking after him. Tori finds Justin at the admin station and he says he pushed the staff into letting him out. He is surprised Tori’s there, given their “house guest”. Tori tells him the photo is of Robbo’s family, they’re dead, his name’s Ryan Shaw and he’s turning himself in. In fact, Robbo is currently racing up the cliff path with Ash behind him. They arrive on the cliff top and Robbo ends up near the edge with nowhere else to run. Ash says it’s just them now and it’s because of Robbo that Kat and his son are dead. Robbo says he knows and is sorry, and is going to go to the police. Ash thinks it’s too little too late. Robbo says he’s lost everyone as well, both Kat and his family. He and Ash push each other; Ash knocks Robbo to the ground and holds him down but doesn’t do anything else. Colby and Murray arrive, pull them both to their feet and cuff them.

Near the surf club, Hunter and Jennifer awkwardly chat about their big day. Jennifer asks what Hunter’s doing tonight, saying she can’t do her assignment with a busted shoulder so maybe Hunter could help her. She says they can eat at the Diner and it’d be fun. Hunter agrees. At the Diner, he asks Leah if it’s a date. Leah says they’re just friends and, despite Hunter pointing out the unlikelihood of Jennifer wanting his help with schoolwork, doesn’t think it is a date…until Hunter mentions they kissed, in which case she says it is. She asks if Hunter wants it to be. Hunter says he’s not getting back with Olivia but Leah says he doesn’t need to be with someone else. Justin comes in and they ask if he should be in hospital. Hunter mentions Jennifer getting hurt because of Ash chasing Robbo and the police have been called. Justin quickly excuses himself and calls Tori.

Colby and Murray bring Ash and Robbo into the police station. While Robbo is taken straight through, Colby warns Ash that he’s facing charges of interfering with a police investigation, public disorder and intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Dean comes in with Taz and another River Boy and tries to get Colby to let Ash go but Colby threatens to arrest him if he doesn’t leave. Ash asks to see Robbo; Colby isn’t keen but Ash claims he backed off. At the hospital, Tori tells Alf he’ll be in his own bed tomorrow night. John comes in with some grapes that he says are half price and mentions Ash and Robbo being arrested. Tori hurries out. Alf asks John if he’s seen Roo. John points out he lobbed a grenade at her.

Colby lets Ash through into the cell area to see Robbo. Ash asks if what he said about losing his family was true. Robbo confirms it is. Ash asks why Robbo hurt everyone he cared about: Kat, the baby, Tori. He is unimpressed with Robbo’s apologies, asking why he can’t remember being Beckett Reid but can remember things that make people feel sorry for him. Robbo can’t explain it but is certain they died because of him. In the reception, Justin and Tori ask Murray about Ash and he says he’s still being interviewed. Tori asks if Robbo’s injuries have been seen to. Murray says he was fit enough to run up to the lighthouse and isn’t interested in helping a cop killer but Tori points out the case could collapse if something happens to him in police custody. Murray shows Tori through to the cells where she checks Robbo over while asking what’s going on. Robbo says he’s going to go through with his plan to confess and thanks her for her help.

Hunter arrives at the Diner dressed smartly but Leah warns him Jennifer isn’t dressed for a date. Jennifer wonders if he’s going for a job interview, then realises he thought it was a date. Hunter asks why she kissed him and she says she wanted to. She suggests it doesn’t have to be anything serious; they could just be friends who kiss. Later, Leah asks if they want anything else and Jennifer jokingly asks for a new shoulder. She makes a quip to Hunter about it being their second date, then asks about a real date. Hunter isn’t sure how that fits in with not being serious but Jennifer suggests it could just be fun. Hunter agrees but is confused, more so when Jennifer kisses him on the cheek before leaving. Both Leah and Hunter look bemused.

Colby tells Ash and Justin that there won’t be any charges against Ash because Robbo won’t testify. Tori comes through and checks Ash is okay but Ash is annoyed to see she came from the cell area, realising she was visiting Robbo. He suggests that she already knew everything. Justin asks not to do this here. Outside the surf club, Colby runs into Dean, who greets him in a mock friendly manner while querying seeing him in uniform. Colby says he can still drop Dean and suggests they get a beer. Dean says he wouldn’t want to catch anything so Colby suggests they stay away from each other.

Justin, Tori and Ash arrive back at the Morgan house. Ash isn’t happy at the lack of explanations while Justin protests he tried to ask them in front of the police. Ash wonders how Robbo could be outside the house only an hour after Tori said he wasn’t there and concludes Tori knew where he was all along. Tori admits it’s true.
