Extended Summary
Maddy apologises to James for walking in on his personal phone conversation, pointedly mentioning how serious it seemed, but James brushes it off again. He goes off to work, as a very happy Evie walks in, and Maddy wants the details. Evie tells her about the amazing kiss with Tank.
At the diner, Tank runs into Evie, who’s having breakfast with Maddy, Matt and VJ, and he offers to join them. Evie is thrilled, and they make room for him. Everyone warms to Tank and things are going well, until Josh walks in, takes one look at them with Tank, and walks out again. Matt goes after him to talk him round, and Josh ends up apologising to Tank and Evie when they exit the diner. Tank takes Evie for a ride in his car. He decides to make things more exciting, and puts his foot down on the accelerator. Evie seems scared, while Tank is excited. When Evie asks him to slow down, he pulls on the hand brake, causing the car to spin around. Tank’s excitement drops when he thinks Evie might be angry, but she suddenly grabs him, and they kiss hungrily.
Marilyn has sneaked out of hospital and starts to walk around Summer Bay, but things are not as she remembers, and she feels confused. At home, John looks at his and Marilyn’s wedding photos, and through some of her things. He gets a call from the hospital saying that Marilyn’s missing. He rushes in and talks to James, who tries to calm him down. John blames himself, thinking he put too much pressure on her. Marilyn goes to Alf’s house, but is distressed to find everything is different. When she finds photos of some people she recognises, she’s comforted, but it’s short lived when Oscar comes home and talks to her familiarly, unaware that she doesn’t remember him. It becomes too much, and Marilyn rushes out. Roo and Leah come looking for Marilyn, and Oscar tells them what happened. They tell Oscar to stay at the house in case Marilyn returns, and go to continue the search. Meanwhile, Marilyn has made her way to the surf club, and Andy finds her. As he talks to her, she becomes more agitated, and Andy takes her back to the hospital. John has become all too aware that Marilyn doesn’t want to see him, and asks Roo to go in and see her, knowing that she remembers her. Marilyn shares her fears with Roo. Outside the room, Roo tries to reassure John, but James arrives to break the news that they may only have a couple of weeks to help Marilyn start getting her memory back, otherwise she may lose it forever…
