Extended Summary
Tank and Evie come out of the water after a swim, with Evie angling to have lunch together, but Tank tells her he’s busy all day, suggesting he take her paddleboarding later. Evie’s left feeling unsure of his intentions towards her.
Josh tries again to warn Evie off Tank, but she isn’t listening. Back at home she offloads to Maddy, telling her how amazing Tank makes her feel. In the diner, Tank provokes Josh by talking sleezily about how hot Evie is. Josh talks to Matt about Tank, then tries to tell Evie again how Tank was talking about her, Matt intervenes and drags Josh away. Later on, when Evie goes to meet Tank, she asks about what he was saying to Josh, but he makes it sound like he was being flattering about her, and Evie is charmed. After paddleboarding, Evie asks Tank how he ended up doing the HSC make up course, and Josh sees them from afar while Tank’s demonstrating how guys used to beat him up at his old school. As Josh rushes in and tries to protect Evie from the perceived threat of Tank, he angers Evie, turning her against him even more. Later on, while Evie is giving paddleboarding a go for the first time, Tank gets on the board behind her, and helps her stand up. They get very close, and as Evie turns towards Tank, drawn in by his close physical presence, she unbalances them, and they fall together into the water. As they resurface and Evie starts to apologise, Tank grabs her and they kiss for the first time, filled with passion.
Roo and James pack to move in together. They are astounded at how much stuff Maddy has. Later on, when Maddy goes out to clean the BBQ, she catches James making a suspicious phone call, but he brushes it off as nothing.
At the hospital James questions Marilyn, who can remember everything up until 1996, which she thinks is the current year. James tells John, Roo and Leah that he thinks there’s a chance that Marilyn could be suffering from retrograde amnesia. Roo and Leah go in to see Marilyn, who doesn’t recognise Leah, and can’t remember who Jett is. Marilyn starts to realise there’s something really wrong, and tells them that she needs some rest, just wanting to be alone. While Roo and Leah are debriefing with John, James introduces Dr. Dawson, who is the expert, and agrees with James’ retrograde amnesia theory. When he says that all they can do is be patient, John storms out. Later on, Roo and Leah take food around for John, who is still wound up. He starts gathering things together and bursts into Marilyn’s hospital room, showing her momentos to remind her of their life together, but all it does is scare her, and a forlorn John leaves. That evening Jett calls John, having got his message, but John tells Jett that everything is fine, covering his heartache.
In the morning Marilyn slips out of the hospital, to go in search of her life…
