  1. There have been a lot of bad comments on a FB page about Bree's attitude to Remi and the bike, her doctor's side really coming into the way she feels about it but if it was their husband/wife/partner/brother/sister/son/daughter how would they feel about them getting on a bike again especially after how Remi meet his accident. He was safely driving along when he was smashed into by a drunk driver on the wrong side of the road. Bree, as a doctor, would be one of the first after the police and paramedics to see the aftermath of a motorcycle accident whoever's fault it was. But then and playing Devil's Advocate here what about people getting trapped in their cars and it catching alight and they get burned alive. Yes, thankfully, that doesn't happen very often but just once is enough. Sometimes bikers are luckier as they get thrown off and only get minor injuries. Actually I think more damage was done to him with Wes and Mickey keep lugging him and out of their van. He's fine with sitting on it in the driveway but how would he feel being on the open road? Do we know Remi's specific injuries? Cash was the grown up and sensible one here with Felicity looking at emergency fostering. Like you Red, I feel there was guilt behind it, she's not a mum type, not every woman is, and just wants to make up for what she put Tane through. She was meaning to do it a good way but hadn't thought it through. The Flick we saw when she snapped at Cash was the Flick of old, but she did listen to him and called Gary who had experience of fostering.. He, in a way, was lucky as he knew Cash and Felicity and they knew him and his wife so it was an easier transition. Cash asked a very good question about if she was successful what would happen the next time she was asked to foster a baby - what would she say - her silence said it all before she said no. She can still be there for Tane. Cash it seems is working days but still not finding exciting enough - not every day as a cop was a thrill a minute though was it? It does look like that could be changing very soon as he meets this character Stevie! Only a brief mention from Justin but it seemed Theo's second interview did go well. Many people take antidepressants but only when they feel they really need them so I guess and it is just a guess that is how Valerie views the pills she's taking. Everybody reacts differently to certain drugs while they gave Theo confidence it's a false confidence. Funny Irene and John joining up to put their respective feet in that very big boot. Obviously it was a select group of people who knew either before or after the event that Leah had been in a clinic so of course it was a shock to John to find out she'd gone back. He was very typically the John we know and love by asking the questions he did but he did have the grace to apologise to Justin after and say he'd be there for him.
  2. What Tane isn't grasping is that not all communities are as caring as Maori's are who do look after a mother who is in difficulties and take the baby in. Roo, wisely, kept the fact she had her daughter adopted quiet, wonder what he would have made of that? No luck in Rose or the rest of the cops tracking down where Maia's clothes were bought. They must have taken Maia's DNA so maybe be able to track her that way. I guessing she has grandparents somewhere. Or maybe someone, somewhere will remember a young or not so young woman living near them with a baby and who then disappeared. I'm guessing TPTB didn't want to pay out for an actor to play Sarge for just one appearance hence him not being able to make the appeal which fell to Rose. It was the fact Tane isn't an Aus so not a permanent resident that is preventing him fostering Maia so I got that wrong, though he still doesn't have a home of his own. From what I could gather Flick must have been out of town and just come back as she was surprised to see the gym closed and all those donations for Maia and not knowing anything at all about her. Then she got filled in about Tane finding the baby so went to see him at the hospital. Her face when she saw him really took her aback. Once she found out he couldn't foster her, she did look into her being able to but is she doing for the right reason? Would she be suitable anyway given her medical history? Talking of the gym what he is going to do for money, he's going to lose clients and staff. Theo has been a right plonker, but at least Valerie has put Kirby's mind at ease that she won't be giving Theo any more drugs. We know Rose wasn't talking to people about any drug dealing but it was about the baby but Valerie wouldn't, thinking maybe Kirby had blabbed. Kirby did offer to help Theo by asking him questions he may get asked in the interview but he shut her down. We'll just have to wait and see how it went down. Not all band members can get their heads round being interviewed, no fault of their own, it's just not their thing. Justin, as we saw, had another errand - delivering Remi's repaired bike back to him. Which doesn't look like it went down well at all with Bree. Psychic - Theo paid for the drugs as Valerie said she couldn't afford it. It does raise the question which I asked where is she getting the money from for the coffee she was buying and is she giving Leah & Justin anything to pay for her keep?
  3. Tane is obsessed with Maia, well at least she has a name now, and while I don't want to stereo type Maoris/Aborigines or any other culture who are family orientated it would fit Tane's upbringing, so just can't get his head around the fact a mum OK or dad would do that. Mali though would get it. The hospital don't seem that bothered about a non relative of Maia being there 24/7, holding her/feeding her. Dana and Harper who we've actually seen working in her SW role, carrying the obligatory clipboard with papers, are there too and Tane has become a familiar face to Maia and she's comfortable with him. I'm guessing it's not going to be a five minute turn round Tane applying to become an emergency foster parent, especially for one so young. I couldn't find any record of him having been arrested, though we know he's been up to naughties, no speeding fines, not that would prevent it so nothing legal stopping him. He has his own business, which he is neglecting at present, can't see him having problems getting character references. The big problem would be a permanent residency, I take it Harper meant a home of his own rather than an Australian residency, as he doesn't, a home of his own that is. That part of the beach didn't look as if it would have been that busy and even though John said he hadn't seen anything on his last patrol he would have been on his buggy which would have drowned out her cries. I'm wondering why whoever it was didn't leave her outside the hospital/doctor's surgery - no scrap that we don't have a doctor's surgery in the bay - somewhere more public where there may be CCTV. OK I'm going to be very melodramatic here but maybe Mum or Dad is dying has no-one else to turn to so that is why they have left her on the beach so wouldn't get picked up on CCTV. The police do have her clothes so may be able to track down where they were bought, they looked pretty new or the bag she was left in, plus DNA. Lovely gestures from the locals donating baby clothes and toys for Maia, that is the kind of neighbourhood Alf was thinking of when he was bigging up the Surf Club. Mac filled Mali in as to why Tane and Felicity broke up him wanting family, her not and taking the pill behind Tane's back. Then at the end we saw Felicity walk in and see him with Maia, has she really not been aware of the situation before now? Theo was bloody lucky swinging that interview, especially as it seemed he didn't remember any of it, even Kirby praised him. This one though will be live and he'll be answering questions. Kirby is right he could ruin Lyrik's rep, Remi won't be happy neither will Eden. I imagine that is how a lot of addicts who don't have their own supply behave, begging their 'dealer' for just one more. Valerie is risking a lot, OK I know she got Theo started on them, but not every gets addicted, just the one suits them, but unfortunately for her, Theo wasn't one of them and he has got addicted very quickly. She stands to lose her 'home' and Leah and Justin's respect. Theo, even excusing his desperation for his next fix, was so cruel bringing up Josh.

  5. I thought that was rather an emotive not quite mention of Martha Jnr, without anything actually been said both Alf and Roo were thinking the same thing, a father and daughter thing. Why shouldn't it be mentioned, something like that would stir up memories like that no matter how long ago it was. To be fair, it wasn't until I saw Roo looking all pensive I remembered it. Martha Jr is in the States somewhere. Talking of BB, she does get named next week but I'm not a spoiler, it is normally the case that the person who finds a baby gets to name them, Tane is becoming far too attached to her, not wanting to leave her side. He surely wouldn't be considered as an emergency foster carer would he, she'd need someone who has done this before and he has no experience of looking after such a young one. He was good at feeding her her bottle though - . I'm guessing any actors/actresses have to like babies/children to be able to act with them on screen, babies do know somehow, if the adults are wary or don't like them. Not sure what the regulations are in force in Aus but in the UK they can be very young, a few weeks in fact, Would be tricky trying to present a month old baby as a new born, their screen time is of course very limited. Mac got clued in and did I miss something or is Flick still unaware of her hubby having a new girlfriend? Mac did text Levi then after we saw her delete that message, well I thought she had. I'm confused. com as to what she is playing at and what she wants Levi to do or not do? Ok, she kind of accepts he's cheating on his wife but the fact they may be having a family is telling her to call a halt. Did she go to see him or had he popped back to the bay? To be fair to Valerie and Theo, they weren't to know they being followed and it was dark. I'm not excusing Theo taking drugs but he is an adult but Kirby did suss out where he got them from and was right about Leah & Justin how would feel about it, especially Leah. It did seem he passed the interview exam OK. It did give Valerie a scare when she saw Rose speaking to Kirby which we know was about BB but she wasn't to know that. Rose btw is doing a great job despite Sarge asking how it was going without being directly involved, they nearly had a lead but it came to nothing. Generally, yes it is usually the mum, but it could be the dad. Funnily enough it was a dad who abandoned his baby in Casualty wasn't it?
  6. Mostly a light hearted episode, Alf fessing up as he felt it was his fault the Surf Club lost Anderson's sponsorship, but he can't be doing that every year can he. It suddenly occurred to me Gerald, seeing as he is the accountant, would have known all along who it came from and maybe tipped Alf off so that is why he revealed all to Cash? He did swear Roo and John to secrecy even though John couldn't resist saying thanks to the generosity of Alf Stewart the awards ceremony were going ahead. Banjo did drop out in case people had forgotten due to his dad's bribes to certain committee members. We hadn't seen much of their training but obviously they all passed thanks to John training them so well of course. Someone should have taken that spade off Xander to stop him digging that hole any deeper. Bad enough him not seeing Dana romantically just as a friend but to add he thought of her as a little sister - YIKES! Mali very wisely decided to leave him and Rose to a family discussion. I can see his point, he hasn't known Dana that long so doesn't want to go there and ruin what could be a good friendship if it doesn't work out. Dana can hardly avoid him for ever, lots of people have found they can't do that in such a small town. Glad he bit the bullet later and explained to her a lot better than he had before. We don't need any more neglected pets in the bay do we now - look at poor Buddy. Seems Mali did pop in at Mac's but left when he found out what a foul mood she was in and we know why, but still no indication of where Tane is staying. Then Tane finds the baby on the beach and what a cutie she was too. All soaps do that with babies if they aren't crying on cue. Just as well she 'did' otherwise she wouldn't have been found. It was in the afternoon wasn't it so not an early drop off and whoever it was could have been seen. She wasn't a new born that was for sure, which was confirmed at the hospital, she was about three months old. She was healthy, cared for so hadn't been neglected in any way, wrapped up in good clothes and had a toy with her so is well loved. Whether it's due to his culture not being able to envisage any Maori family doing that or a knee jerk reaction anyone would have Tane couldn't understand how anyone could do that. Harper, wearing her SW hat, could see why it could happen and maybe had met mums/dads who had done the same thing. They whoever they were had card for her for three months. Why though on a beach, why not at a hospital/doctor's surgery, a more public place? Did this 'they' know Summer Bay? I'm guessing the cops took the bag to check for any clues, take DNA etc. BB - beach baby seemed to like Tane so got good taste, she's a lovely little actress/actor already. I've never been a mum so I'm only guessing the fact she was sucking her fingers is because she's teething?
  7. It didn't still explain that response from Cash when he answered that call though. Alf had already given that money to the club, did he then go to see Martha and told her what he'd done and maybe mortgaged the house unless he has A$30,000 just lying around. He'll have to tell Roo, if not John, where the money came from. That was grossly unfair of Mac leaving Felicity to break the bad news to Xander. I guess Cash has been called in to cover that bloke who's off sick as he's the newbie so he's first on call. What's the betting something will happen. I'm glad Justin told Leah he'd overheard her so she could tell him that she was going to talk to her therapist again. He did admit, once again, he'd been rushing things. Good that he is supporting her decision and it's voluntary this time. How will they explain her absence to Maz, Irene and Theo, will they tell them the truth? It was obvious when Irene saw Xander and Dana acting the way they were that he was her secret crush and she didn't know Harper didn't know. From what Harper had seen she may have got the impression Xander did like Dana that way. I've said before Xander is nothing like Olly, he is a good guy. Give him a lot of credit he did let her down gently.
  8. Justin does go at things like a bull at a gate, but it is his first marriage whereas it'll be Leah's fourth. Leah does keep saying baby steps but he wants to take giant ones. I wonder what he made of overhearing Leah talking to her therapist, I know he shouldn't have been listening but she did leave the door open - silly moo. I hope he doesn't take it personally. He did enjoy telling everyone he's finished his CS. Mac was happy enough in the morning and telling Flick she'll be taking the afternoon off as she was 'feeling tired' and didn't want to overdo it but then she got that call. But for all she knew it was a work thing, he is a top surgeon and may have been needed at the hospital but of course it could be due to Eden's visit and he's worried what she would have said and wanted to keep his distance. It certainly didn't help her mood then finding out Eden had visited Levi and Imogen and the possible baby which really spiralled her into an even worse one, but to give her her due she hid her disappoint/anger well when speaking to Cash & Eden. She did nearly text him but deleted it. But then she took it out on Xander via Felicity. It is the penalty you pay for being the other woman/man. She did get her answer to the question she put to Levi - he and Imogen are still having sex. Felicity was the grown up one there, trying to calm Mac down and reassuring Xander and being the shoulder for Cash to cry on. I guess he wouldn't be a stranger to doing night shifts when he was a cop and it wouldn't have been shoot-outs, robberies every time but that job does sound brain numbingly boring, at least he gets to have a walk around, I feel more sorry for that other guy just staring at the CCTV all night. Could Cash reapply to join the force? Did smile when Cash said to Eden breakfast is on me, whenever was it ever on Eden? I can see where Bree is coming from, something like nearly losing the guy you love then losing your dad would put things into perspective and make you reprioritise things. She was able to be there for both of them, but if she had taken up that position before she would have been half the world away and not be there for them. Remi did put across very good reason why she shouldn't pass it up but it is her decision, she weighed the pros and cons and the pros for staying won. Remi seemed very chuffed when Justin asked if he and the rest of Lyrik would play at his and Leah's wedding. It did, if it hadn't before, why it's only Kirby and Theo playing as Lyrik, when Bree isn't 'babysitting' Remi, Eden is on duty. I dare say some will complain about his recovery 'dragging on' which is more realistic but it makes a change for a recovery from a serious op to be over in a few days like we normally see.
  9. There does seem to be a clash between Kirby and Valerie over Theo, Kirby maybe because of their history and she does care for him and Valerie is an unknown to Kirby. Valerie did give Theo some good advice by suggesting he does that interview on his own and let's hope it does work out OK. She was also good to Leah when she told her Justin wanted to get their wedding plans back on track, not that he was pushing at all, and just said she should follow her feelings and how she felt about it. Oh we heard Buddy! Do the makers of H&A have anything against inhabitants having pets because you never see any or hear of any of our regulars having any. Once Levi got over his shock at seeing Eden on his doorstep he was very welcoming, although he did ask Eden to lie for him because Imogen had asked him not to do so many out of town hospital visits, luckily that problem didn't arise. That could imply Imogen could be a bit clingy, we did see him getting a few calls from her, even before the affair started, asking him if he was going to be home that night. She's no slouch herself seeing as she's an occupational therapist but she does seem to have their lives planned out - dogs, kids. Eden inviting them to visit got neatly averted by Levi by saying they'd have to see how their workload went. It was a very nice place so they have to be doing well moneywise. It would be interesting them rocking up in the bay together. Just see Eden excitedly introducing her to Remi and Kirby then taking them to Salt when Mac was on shift. "Hi, this is my sister-in-law". But, of course, they could bump into her anywhere. Did appear odd/evasive the way Remi shut his laptop down. I'm guessing he has been allowed out in the garden so under not total house arrest. But getting out in the real world as opposed to possible hospital visits I would have thought be good for his mental health. Sweet he remembered that is where he and Bree had their first date, guess he got up the stairs OK. All was going well then she got that call - Belgium in two weeks time for training., I'm supposing it's been OK'd by ND.

  11. I thought Justin had finished his CS, but there was of course have been a gap, what with him being kidnapped, then in hospital at death's door, then recovery, but I bet he didn't think that would be his last round of duty. It was on his first tour of duty when he met Andrew however long ago that was. I wondered wtf this random woman - who it turned out was Montana, another out there name, was filming Mali and Rose. Did her parents name her that, like Banjo's did? Ditto Mercedes? Then it appeared she was on CS and it was so not her thing - diddums - but thanks to Rose who had Cash to thank - turned it round for her making her look good for her followers. Influencers, whatever they are, can be sooooo irritating but why do they feel they need to have to try and appease everyone, is there something missing from their real lives? But Roo has told John Cash has confirmed the donor is genuine, does John not believe Cash, he has spoken to them after all and would know if they are bone fide or not. Gerald got a mention, is it Gerald John doesn't trust? Rose, for once, didn't push Mali to open up about all that was going on with Mac. Still only Tane & Mali who know the truth, and it's been a couple of weeks, so pretty good for SB. Cash has opened a can of worms by suggesting Eden go and visit Levi which she did and it appears Levi's family is going from two to three! That's going to go down very well, but I bet your bottom dollar Levi will ask Eden to keep quiet as it's early days yet.
  12. Well of course Flick went round to Mac's after getting those rather vague responses from Mali but give him his dues he didn't crack under her interrogation. It was Mac he was having a go at not realising Flick was behind him, phew that he never mentioned ykw by name. That awkward meeting with Mac and Levi said volumes and must have got her antenna twitching, hence her just casually dropping the fact did Eden know Levi was in town, cleverly done I'd say, as he had to make some quickly thought up excuse and that he'd see her next time. That will be interesting that meeting between Imogen and Eden, I'm guessing Imogen knows about Eden and her history with Levi. Rather early for Mac to be asking if Levi would be willing to leave Imogen isn't it, it's only been going on for a couple of weeks and that only usually comes after a few months/years. I'm in two minds if Mac is his first or not, he doesn't come across as a serial cheat and Mac would know seeing as Rick was so would know the signs but he could just be very good at it. Nothing modern about this attitude to marriage, it's been happening for years. All the women - and men don't forget - think they will be the one which rarely happens. Derek so would not be Dana's type, she wouldn't have put up with his attitude as long as Harper did. Cash has started his new job, which doesn't sound much like it's going to be a mind stretching gig. Good in a way, as he'll be safe but must be boring. But Roo doesn't know who the donor is Cash wouldn't tell her, all he'd tell her was the donation was absolutely legal. I keep coming back to the thought it's Jasmine. My theory is based on the way Cash answered that phone call "It's been a while since you called me" in no way would he be saying that to Alf who some are thinking may be behind the donation. Anyways maybe Alf called her or even went to see her 'cos no way could she know otherwise how the Surf Club was doing seeing as Robbo's mum and dad lived in the middle of nowhere. She did run the gym there for a while as did Robbo and Alf did kind of take him in and stood by him. I'm not sure how she'd have $30,000 on hand but I like to think she'd want to help and that Robbo would have wanted to too - to repay them, well Alf. Mind you I could be totally wrong and look a right galah when it is revealed who they are. It would explain why he's keeping it quiet, don't suppose Eden would be overjoyed knowing he'd possibly been in contact with his ex especially the one who had hurt him so much.
  13. Mac is perfectly entitled to wear what she likes in her own home but I get that she could be more discreet as she is living with two guys though Mali and Tane don't bat an eyelid when she appears in her skimpies. Not just the roof Eden will be hitting once she finds out. OK, if any of them were having someone round, in Mali's case Rose or in Tane's whoever, you'd ask your housemates to maybe vacate the place so you could have some alone time, but booting them out because it's your married lover! Yes it's her house so she can call the shots, but if the boot was on the other foot would Mac be OK with it? Levi should be very thankful he is only being challenged by Mac's surrogate brother not her actual one Dean would have decked him one. Was a bit, well OK a lot cringe when Mac asked Levi if without actually saying it if he and Imogen still slept/together, as in having sex. He did get a shock and not a pleasant one when he found out both Mali and Tane knew all about their affair and really took Mac to task about it, threatening to end it and she was practically begging him to stay, not a good look girlie to use an Ireneism. Talking of whom Dana did keep schtum to her about her possible crush but didn't fool Rose but she has three things going for her, she's a woman, Xander's sister and she's a cop. Rose didn't seem to have any problem if Dana and Xander got together. I can see why Dana doesn't want to take the plunge after her last experience but Xander is nothing like her ex and you can't paint all guys with the same brush. He is good for her though as he did manage to restrain her from disturbing Harper's 'date' though seeing how it wasn't going Harper may have glad of the interruption. Definitely no offence to any Derek's but he was a dork. Loved her parting shot to him about him needing to get over himself. Tane did find the name very amusing. Derek isn't a young man's name and it does seem the only traditional names in the bay are reserved for the older folks John, Alf, Irene. Leah and Justin are in the middle generation, Felicity is an 'old' name. Tane, Mali and Theo are traditional names in their culture, Maori, Aboriginal and Greek respectively. Rose is another 'old' name as is Alexander aka Xander. Roo is a shortening of Ruth. Where did Cash come from though, Mackenzie? there must be others. I know she's a new girl but Valerie is an 'old' name. It did appear that Levi/Mac's secret could be about to be found out. Mali was ranting onto someone on his phone - can't remember who and not realising Flick was right behind him - oops. Flick does reveal to Eden her brother is in town. OK, he is a doctor and may have come to town to NDS hospital to check up on Mac and doesn't have to tell Eden every time he calls by.
  14. Guess we now know why Theo and Valerie didn't hear Justin and Leah come back. They did get 'woken' up by them later though, did Valerie sneak off to her room once she was sure Justin and Leah were asleep? Theo answered my question as to whether he had told Justin he had failed his assignment, he hadn't, but did when Justin asked. Something else for Theo to get worried about and need more drugs to get him through. Which brings me to Valerie, he's now paying her to get drugs, were those she had freebies and how long is she going to be staying at Justin and Leah's, is she going to be contributing towards her keep? Get a job? She was staying for free at the Stuart's, first kipping in a van, then the house. Handy his share of his pay for the gig at Salt came through just in time. Was nice twist at the end of Leah & Justin's night out, I thinking they did just sleep together this time. I wonder how Valerie will react to that news? Yep, both Bree and Remi made errors in not telling each other what was going on but as you said Red for good reasons. It certainly would have made things very awkward having Jacob's parents at her dads funeral. I'm guessing Bree's parents didn't know the full story, though Jacob's parents can't be blamed for their sons actions. Kirby could see it from both sides so was able to understand where they were both coming from and why. She, Kirby, spoke a lot of sense, no way could Remi go charging round the bay looking for Bree not in his condition, she said she'll contact you when she's ready which she did. She does seem the wise one of the group a lot of the time. Good to see Irene retaking her role of a female Alf. Refreshing to see a group of young, youngish folk hanging out which you don't see often. I got the feeling Harper may be more into Tane, despite her protests she isn't, than he is, he genuinely seemed pleased she was hooking up with someone on that dating app. It can take a while for the penny to drop that you fancy someone but it has now for Dana and the lucky guy is Xander. Maybe best not to say anything to Irene because as much as we love her she can drop huge hints to the unsuspecting recipient of said crush. I think they'd make a good couple now all we need is to see them make the necessary hook up maybe with this new idea Xander has for Salt, they get their heads together and who knows what could happen.
  15. It could be even if Valerie's drugs are prescription she wouldn't know what is in them. She may just have the knack on picking up on people who may 'need' them which is why she has zoned in on Theo. I suppose Theo & Valerie could have gone out again when Justin & Leah came back to change so had just fallen asleep. His door was shut so no reason why Justin & Leah would think anyone was there. She does keep mentioning her brother to Theo so I still get this feeling there is more to her story. Kirby soon picked up on the fact Theo was 'high', naturally he denied but made a quick exit. When Kirby first saw Valerie with Theo on the beach all she saw was them talking so no need for any antenna to be twitching. It was when she was at Lyrik's house and the fact she was looking at Kirby's book with her lyric's in. Maybe a touch jealous but maybe she is also worried about Theo's sudden attachment to Valerie and not wanting him to get hurt. He does tend to fall for people, OK women, pretty quick and hard - Chloe, Kirby and now in her eyes maybe Valerie. Bree made a sudden reappearance and from what was said in the Diner it seemed no-one knew why she had left, going by Irene's comment about how it must have been nice to see her mum and dad. Then she found out the other 'secret' that Remi had been home for a week or so. We know why he kept quiet so she could be with her parents and apart from his initial wobble he's doing OK. I think both he and Kirby talked her round as to why they didn't tell her even with the 'shock' news that Levi had to be called out. The she revealed her own news about her dad which in context did make even more sense why Remi did what he did. It must have been so traumatic for her and her mum with the whole debate of switching the life support system off or not. As she said to Remi she's talked to patient's families about it many a time but when it's you it's happening to you it's completely different. Bit of a shock the funeral had already been held though if Remi had been in hospital there was no way he could have got there. Do/did Bree's mum and her late dad know about Remi?
