Episode 52

Janae is waiting for Peter to answer.
Janae: Well, I’m waiting!
Peter: I can’t.
Janae: Peter, I’m not f***ing joking. Are you going to tell me where Jacob is or aren’t you?
*Tracey goes over them*
Tracey: Guys? I can hear you both arguing. Is everything okay?
Janae: *nudging Peter in the ribs* Go on, Peter!
Peter: Um…
Janae: And the truth! *glares at Peter*
Tracey: The truth?
Peter: Don’t make me do this, Janae.
Janae: LISTEN! You have two choices, Peter. The easy way or the hard way! Take your pick.
Tracey: Janae!
Janae: Bestie, I’m handling it. *to Peter* So, what’s it going to be?
*Peter looks uneasy*
(Tracey is seen storming out of Westfield)
Sabrina: Where’s she going?
Imoska: Home by the looks of it.
*Tracey gets in the Kingswood and drives off without saying goodbye to anyone*
Peter: Happy now, Janae?!?
Janae: To be honest, no.
Peter: That was a secret between me and Jacob. You didn’t have to force me to tell Tracey.
Janae: Tracey happens to be one of my best friends. I’m within my rights to let her know where her boyfriend his.
Peter: That’s good coming from a junkie like you.
Janae: EXCUSE ME?!?
Peter: YOU HEARD ME!
Sabrina: Come on, guys. This isn’t achieving anything.
Janae: *now screaming* I’M NOT A F***ING JUNKIE!
Peter: You smoke weed! That’s a drug!
*Janae rolls her eyes*
Peter: You are a troublemaker and you’re a bitch!
Janae: *to Sabrina and Imoska* See how he’s talking to me right now? I wonder how Abby would feel about him speaking to women like that?
Imoska: I’m staying out of it.
Peter: Don’t bring your cousin and my girlfriend into this argument, Janae! You are so stupid!
Janae: What…was…THAT?!?
*Janae grabs Peter by the shirt and pushes him towards the wall*
Sabrina: STOP!
*Sabrina and Imoska manage to separate Janae and Peter before things get out of control*
Imoska: Peter, I think you should go home.
Peter: Oh, I’ll gladly leave. *to Janae* Our friendship is done, by the way.
Janae: Whatever!
*Peter storms off as Janae storms back inside the shopping centre*

The minute Tracey gets home, she throws her bag on the couch and decides to take a long shower.
*The phone rings as Tracey enters the bathroom*
Tracey: *to herself* If it’s so important, call me back.
*Tracey turns the shower on*
Sabrina: *via voice message* Hey Trace, it’s Sabrina. Call me when you get this. I want to make sure you’re okay. Bye.
*10 minutes later, Tracey gets out of the shower and puts on a purple nightie*
Tracey: *to herself* I might call Sabrina back.
*As Tracey goes to call Sabrina, the door knocks*
Tracey: What is it?
*Tracey opens the door to find Laura Hague standing there*
Laura: Hi Tracey.
Tracey: Laura, what do you want? You’ve come at a bad time.
Laura: I just wanted to come see you.
Tracey: *flatly* Fine. Come in.
*Laura enters the apartment*
Laura: I heard Jacob ran away.
Tracey: Who told you?
Laura: I ran into Deborah O’Shea at the shops and she told me.
Tracey: Typical Deborah. Oh, Laura. I’m just so stressed out right now.
Laura: I completely understand. If there is anything you need, I’ll be here for you.
Tracey: Thanks.
Laura: Do you still speak to Glory?
Tracey: Hell no! She’s a troublemaker and I’m glad she moved to Bombaderry.
Laura: I didn’t know she moved there.
Tracey: She did. Good riddance too.
*Laura and Tracey look at each other and laugh*
(At Fitness First in Wollongong, Cam and Abby are having their session with their P.T.)
Cam: What are you doing tomorrow, Abz?
Abby: I’m going to the city. I have a big photo shoot.
Cam: Damn! I was going to ask you if you wanted to come to the movies with me.
Abby: Sorry bestie.
Cam: It’s cool.
Nathan Lopez: Lift those weights, girls.
*Cam and Abby do so*
Nathan: That’s a wrap. *smiles*
*Abby sees that her phone is beeping*
Abby: I wonder who’s texting me?
*Abby opens the text message and reads it*
Abby: No, she didn’t!
Cam: Something wrong, Abz?
Abby: Peter just texted me and informed me what Janae has done. Oh, I’m so annoyed!
Cam: I wouldn’t worry about it.
Abby: I’ll meet you at the car. I’m going to call Janae.
*As Abby leaves, Cam approaches Nathan*
Cam: That was a good session, Nathan.
Nathan: Thank you. You’re one of my easier clients.
Cam: I am? *laughs weakly*
Nathan: You sure are.
Cam: Are you doing anything tomorrow?
Nathan: I’m here from 2:30 tomorrow arvo.
Cam: I was wondering if you wanted to go to the movies with me.
Nathan: Sure. *smiles*
Cam: See you at 11. Bye.
*Cam leaves and heads to the car*
Abby: She’s not answering.
Cam: Nathan is SO hot!
Abby: Tell me about it.
Cam: I’m going to the movies with him tomorrow.
Abby: Lucky duck!
*Cam just blushes*

Later on, Abby decides to pay Janae a visit.
*Abby knocks on the door*
Janae: What is it? *opens the door* Oh, hey cuz.
Abby: Just what the hell are you playing at, Janae Rose Taylor?!?
Janae: What do you mean?
Abby: Making Peter tell Tracey where Jacob is. He was scared.
Janae: Why should you stick up for HIM?!? He called me a junkie! He also said that I was stupid!
Abby: I don’t condone his actions either, but you shouldn’t have threatened him.
Janae: Whatever happened to family loyalty?
Abby: You know I love you, Janae. But sometimes, you need to control your anger. I’m just saying this for your own good.
Janae: Are you saying that I have anger issues? *looks hurt*
Abby: Yes. Look, I’m sorry but I had to say it. *leaves*
*Janae slams the door and starts to cry*

Episode 53

The next morning (Thursday), Tracey slowly gets ready for school. She wanted to take the day off, but she decided against it. She just wanted to distance herself away from the drama and focus on her schooling.
*Tracey gets in the Kingswood and pulls into the parking lot of Warrawong High. When she gets out of her car, she sees Sabrina near the netball courts*
Sabrina: *calling out* Tracey!
*Tracey walks over to Sabrina*
Tracey: Hey Sabrina.
*Tracey and Sabrina hug*
Sabrina: Are you okay after yesterday?
Tracey: I’m still hurt that Jacob didn’t tell me, I’m p***ed off with Peter and I’m just over the drama. I had enough of that back in Cook Vale and Summer Bay.
Sabrina: Oh. *looks at Tracey sympathetically*
Tracey: And to top it off, Laura Hague dropped by last night.
Sabrina: I hate her.
Tracey: I never found out why you hate Laura. Tell me.
Sabrina: She was a year above us in school and happened to be good friends with Leah. One day, she decided to talk s*** about Leah and told most of her friends that she was only using them. Leah nearly lost most of her friends because of what Laura did. As soon as I found out, I went ballistic. I storm over to Laura during lunch break and I said to her, “If I ever hear you talk s*** about my sister again, you’ll regret it!”. Laura, of course, makes a big deal out of it and cried to Mrs Feeney. I got an after school detention, but Leah happened to tell Mum the whole story. On the Thursday, Mum rung Mrs Feeney and blasted her on the phone, saying that she would have Laura expelled. Mrs Feeney obviously told Laura because as soon as we got dismissed, Laura went over to Mum and called her the most disgusting things known to mankind. My whole body was shaking with rage when I heard what Laura was saying about my own mother. So, I storm over to Laura and punch her in the face so hard that she fell onto the window of one of the cars parked next to us. But that didn’t stop me. I slammed her head into the grass and kept hitting her. It had to take Leah, Janae and Lisa Fulton to drag me away from Laura.
Tracey: Oh my god. I never knew you had a vicious side, Sabrina.
Sabrina: When it comes to people putting s*** on my sister and mother, you don’t know what I’m capable of. *smiles*
Tracey: I wonder if Janae’s coming today.
Sabrina: I wouldn’t be surprised if she gives Peter the silent treatment.
Tracey: What?
Sabrina: Didn’t you hear?
Tracey: Hear what?
Sabrina: Peter and Janae had a huge fight after you left.
Tracey: *sarcastically* Oh great! More drama!
Sabrina: Distance yourself away from the drama. You have enough problems as it is.
*Janae walks over to them*
Janae: Don’t p*** me off today!
Sabrina: Still angry about yesterday?
Janae: Too right I am, especially with what happened last night.
Tracey: What happened?
Janae: Abby had a go at me because I fought with Peter. I guarantee you he told Abby what happened to spite me.
Tracey: Well they are dating…
Janae: It doesn’t give him the right to snitch on me to my own cousin.
Tracey: I just don’t want any drama today.
*As they walk towards the quad, they see Peter sitting on a metal bench.*
Tracey: Hey Peter.
Peter: Hey Tracey. Hey Sabrina.
*Janae glares at him*
Sabrina: Peter, what about Janae?
Peter: Who’s Janae?
*Janae looks like she’s about to explode!*
Tracey: I’m going to find Imoska.
*Tracey quickly leaves*
Sabrina: This is ridiculous! You both need to talk and sort things out.
Janae: Sort things out with who? I don’t see anyone next to me.
*Peter storms off*
Sabrina: Real mature, Janae.
*Janae smirks to herself*

During lunch break, Tracey decides to sit on her own in the canteen area.
*Imoska joins her after a few minutes*
Imoska: There you are. I’ve been looking everywhere for you.
Tracey: I just wanted Janae, Peter and Sabrina to give me some space.
Imoska: Oh, I’m sorry if…
Tracey: Don’t be, Imoska. I’m really glad that you’re here. *smiles*
Imoska: Thanks Tracey. *smiles back*
Tracey: I’m sick of Janae and Peter right now. That would have to be one of the worst Business Studies classes I’ve ever encountered so far.
Imoska: What happened?
Tracey: I was about to say, where were you throughout class?
Imoska: I had to do something with Miss Delaney. It’s about the project that we’re doing in VA.
Tracey: I see. Well, what happened was, Miss Dobson was going on about business planning when Janae decided to be a smart**** and call Peter names. Peter, of course, didn’t take too kindly to her comments and called her a ‘junkie, bush pig.”
Imoska: How did Janae take that?
Tracey: She went mental! I ended up leaving the class because I was sick of them fighting like cats and dogs. It’s bad enough Jacob left without telling me.
Imoska: Come here, girlfriend.
*Tracey and Imoska hug*
(When Imoska finishes school that afternoon, she sees Jocelyn waiting outside.)
Imoska: Hey Jocelyn.
Jocelyn: Hey.
Imoska: What’s up?
Jocelyn: I need help with something.
Imoska: What’s that?
Jocelyn: I need a place to crash for the weekend.
Imoska: Why?
Jocelyn: My mother is being such a bitch to me. I want to stay with you for the weekend before I can sort things out with my mother. Is that okay?
Imoska: I’ll ring my dad right now.
*Once Imoska gets off the phone to her father, she looks at Jocelyn.*
Imoska: Dad said you can stay, but you have to be out by Monday.
Jocelyn: Thanks Imoska. You’re the best. *smiles*
*Imoska smiles back*

Tracey and Janae decide to hang out at Sabrina’s house.
*The phone rings once Sabrina and the girls enter the house*
Sabrina: Get something to drink, while I take the call.
*As Sabrina goes to answer the phone, Tracey decides to talk to Janae.*
Tracey: Janae, you behaved very immaturely in Business Studies today.
Janae: What did I do? Pete was the one that…
Tracey: You were both in the wrong. I’ve got enough problems of my own then to listen to you two fight.
Janae: You’re right, bestie. I was being selfish. I’m sorry.
Tracey; Don’t worry about it.
*Janae and Tracey hug as Sabrina returns from the hall, looking sad.*
Sabrina: That was Mum.
Tracey: Is everything okay?
Sabrina: Leah’s been in a horse riding accident.
*Tracey and Janae look shocked*
Tracey: Oh, I’m sorry.
Sabrina: We don’t know how badly hurt she is, but I just hope she’s okay. I don’t want to lose my sister.
*Tracey and Janae put their arms around a distressed Sabrina*

NEXT TIME
- Tracey confronts a returning Jacob
- Janae and Peter decide to call a truce

Today is my birthday :)

Episode 54

That night, Sabrina is in her bedroom packing a suitcase and putting her clothes inside.
*Anne walks in*
Anne: Sabrina, what are you doing?
Sabrina: I’ve decided to stay at Dad’s this weekend. I want to be there for Leah.
Anne: Okay darling. I’m coming with you.
Sabrina: Don’t you have to work early tomorrow morning?
Anne: I’ve swapped with one of the nurses. I’m taking tomorrow off so we can drive to Bega.
Sabrina: What time are we leaving?
Anne: Straight after you finish school. I knew you what you were up to, young lady. *smiles*
Sabrina: And what’s that, Mother?
Anne: You wanted to leave early in the morning, so you wouldn’t go to school.
Sabrina: Maybe.
Anne: No maybe about it. That was your intention.
Sabrina: But I didn’t…
Anne: You can leave at recess.
Sabrina: You mean that?
Anne: Of course love. I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it.
Sabrina: Thanks Mum.
*Sabrina and Anne hug*
(Meanwhile, Tracey is at Westfield Warrawong shopping with Imoska and Deanna, a girl in their French class.)
Tracey: I just wish Jacob would ring.
Imoska: I’m sure he’ll be home soon.
Deanna: I still think how he left was pretty low.
Imoska: Deanna, have you been listening to Deborah O’Shea too much?
Deanna: I can’t help that she’s the biggest gossip in school.
Tracey: She gossips about everything. Janae hates her.
Deanna: Who doesn’t Janae hate?
Tracey: You should’ve heard her today in Maths. She was complaining about Kerry Love kissing her boyfriend.
Imoska: Kerry can be annoying though.
Deanna: I don’t mind Kerry. Just not Deborah.
Tracey: I hope Jacob comes back. *sighs*
*Imoska puts her arm around Tracey*
Imoska: He will. Just give him some time.
*Tracey looks sad*
Deanna: He’ll be home before you know it.

The next morning (Friday), a familiar face returns home from Samoa.
*Jacob opens the door*
Jacob: Tracey?
*no answer*
Jacob: Tracey?
*Jacob looks at the clock. It’s 9:30am.*
Jacob: She must be at school. I better go see her.
*Jacob arrives at Warrawong High just as the second period bell rings*
Jacob: Good. I have English.
*Jacob enters Mrs Smith’s classroom*
Jacob: Hey Miss.
Mrs Smith: Hello Jacob. I’m sorry to hear about your uncle.
Jacob: Thanks Miss. That means a lot. *tries to smile*
*Jacob takes his usual seat in the back row*
Sabrina: *from outside* I just hope Leah’s okay.
Tracey: When are you leaving to go to Bega?
Sabrina: At recess.
*Tracey, Janae and Sabrina walk in and see Jacob*
Sabrina: Oh my gosh! It’s you. Come here!
*Sabrina hugs Jacob*
Sabrina: Where have you been?
Jacob: I’ve been in Samoa.
*Tracey starts to get tense*
Tracey: I have to go to the toilet. *walks out*
Janae: Tracey? *goes after her*
Jacob: She’s angry with me isn’t she?
Sabrina: Who?
Jacob: Tracey.
Sabrina: You have no idea. Her and Janae are really p***ed off about leaving without telling us.
Jacob: So does this mean you’re angry at me too?
Sabrina: No. Just disappointed, but I’m glad you’re back.
*Peter and Imoska walk in*
Peter: Jacob! I’ve f****ing missed you, man.
Jacob: Me too my brother.
*they bro handshake/hug*
Imoska: I’m glad you’re back, brother.
*Imoska and Jacob hug*
Jacob: Tracey’s angry with me.
Imoska: Can you blame her?
Jacob: *sadly* I guess not.
*Janae walks back inside*
Janae: Sabrina, go talk to Tracey. *to Jacob* You and I have a few things we need to talk about.
Peter: Janae, you’re only going to tell him off.
Janae: Too right, I am! Which reminds me, you and I need to talk later too.
Sabrina: Imoska, let’s go see if Tracey’s okay.
Imoska: Okay. *to Janae* Where is she?
Janae: Ladies room.
*Sabrina and Imoska leave*
Janae: Anything you wish to say, Jacob?
Jacob: I’m sorry.
Janae: SORRY DOESN’T CUT IT! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED TRACEY AND I WERE ABOUT YOU?! NOT TO MENTION YOUR FRIENDS?! ARE WE NOT THAT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO TELL US THAT YOU’RE IN SAMOA FOR YOUR UNCLE’S FUNERAL?!
*Jacob looks remorseful*
Jacob: I only told Peter because he’s like family to me.
Janae: I’M LIKE A SISTER TO YOU! YOU COULD’VE TOLD ME!
Peter: I think you’ve said just about enough, Janae!
Janae: I haven’t finished, Peter! I’m just getting started.
Mrs Smith: Janae! If you’re going to be disruptive, you can leave!
Janae: Fine. *leaves the room*
*Peter puts his arm around Jacob*
(In the ladies room, Tracey is washing her face. She has been crying.)
Tracey: I’m just so hurt.
Sabrina: Tracey, I completely understand. You tried calling him, you tried texting him and you even tried to get his parents to get him to contact you.
Tracey: When I saw him I just…froze.
Imoska: Is there anything else that’s bothering you?
Tracey: No.
Imoska: Are you sure?
Tracey: Of course. I’d tell him to leave the flat, but his name is on the lease.
*Janae enters the bathroom*
Janae: Come here, bestie.
*Tracey and Janae hug*
Tracey: I’m leaving the flat for a few days or maybe even weeks.
Janae: What are you going to do?
Tracey: I’m not too sure.
*Tracey looks worried*

When school finishes that afternoon, Janae sees Peter outside the gate.
Janae: Hey.
Peter: *frostily* Hi.
Janae: Look, I just want to apologise for being a bitch to you. It wasn’t your fault that you were protecting Jacob.
Peter: Okay. I’m sorry for calling you stupid.
Janae: I guess I’m stupid in my own way. *laughs*
*Peter laughs too*
Peter: I just hope Sabrina and Tracey are okay.
Janae: Me too. Sabrina and her mother should be arriving in Bega right about now.
Peter: Tracey looked upset when we was leaving.
Janae: She’s been avoiding Jacob like the plague.
Peter: They better sort things out. It’s bad enough we fought.
Janae: I know. *looks sad*
(At Tracey and Jacob’s apartment, she is packing her clothes into a suitcase.)
*Jacob walks in*
Jacob: Tracey, I need to talk to you.
*Tracey ignores him*
Jacob: We need to talk. I hate seeing my girlfriend like this.
*Tracey throws a pillow at Jacob in temper*
Tracey: You stopped being my girlfriend as soon as you disappeared!
Jacob: Tracey, I was going through a lot of…
Tracey: I understand, but you shouldn’t have walked out on me like that. You scared me!
Jacob: We have different ways of grieving.
Tracey: Whatever! *grabs her suitcase*
Jacob: Where are you going?
Tracey: Janae’s. I need to get away from here!
Jacob: But…
Tracey: Just don’t, all right!
Jacob: Tracey…
Tracey: Jacob, I could’ve helped you grieve. But instead you pushed me and all of your friends away. You’ve made your bed now go sleep in it!
Jacob: So, I guess it’s over?
Tracey: *choked up* I don’t know, Jacob. I just need time to think.
*Tracey leaves, closing the door behind her*
Jacob: F***!
*Jacob sits on the lounge, covering his face with his hands*
(*Outside, a sobbing Tracey is leaving the apartment block*)

Episode 55

Tracey arrives at Janae’s house to hear her arguing with her mother.
Sarah: I’VE ASKED YOU FIVE TIMES TO CLEAN THE TOILET, JANAE ROSE! IT FEELS LIKE I’M TALKING TO A BLOODY WALL!
Janae: I CLEANED IT THIS MORNING!
Sarah: NOT TO MY STANDARDS, YOUNG LADY!
*Tracey knocks on the screen door*
Janae: I’ll see who that is! *opens the door and notices Tracey’s red and swollen eyes* Oh Tracey.
*Tracey starts crying again as Janae hugs her*
Janae: It’s going to be okay.
(*Cut to Tracey and Janae in her bedroom*)
Tracey: I never thought Jacob would turn out like my ex-boyfriends. That’s what is hurting me the most.
Janae: Men are scum!
Tracey: Janae, have you ever had a boyfriend?
Janae: Of course. I haven’t had one in two years because I just can’t be f***ed being hurt again. My last boyfriend cheated on me.
Tracey: He sounds like a jerk!
Janae: Looking back now, he was a douche!
*Tracey manages to smile*
Janae: I’ll help you with your bags.
Sarah: It’s a pity you can’t help your mother!
Janae: At least Tracey doesn’t scream orders at me like you do, you old bag!
Sarah: Don’t speak to me like that! I’ve had enough cheek from you for one day!
Janae: Too bad!
*Janae and Tracey go upstairs*
(Meanwhile, Peter is over at the apartment comforting Jacob.)
Peter: What happened man?
Jacob: I tried explaining everything to her, but she just snapped.
Peter: Did you go after her?
Jacob: What’s the point? She’s gone to Janae’s house and I think she’s still angry with me.
Peter: I could stay the night if you want.
Jacob: No thanks man. I just want to be left alone. *sighs*
*Peter looks helpless*
Peter: Are you sure?
Jacob: Yes.
*Peter puts his arm around Jacob as he starts to cry*
Jacob: I’ve lost her, Pete. I’ve lost her.
Peter: No, you haven’t. She’ll come around.

In Bega, Sabrina and Anne arrive at the hospital.
Anne: Excuse me?
Nurse: Yes ma’am?
Anne: Do you know which room Leah Wren is in? I’m her mother.
Nurse: She’s in Room 19.
Anne: Thank you.
Sabrina: I hope she’s awake.
Anne: Me too, darling.
*Sabrina and Anne enter the room to find Leah asleep in the bed*
Sabrina: She looks unrecognisable.
Anne: I know.
*Leah slowly wakes up*
Leah: Hi Mum.
Anne: Darling, I’m glad you’re still with us. *kisses Leah’s forehead*
*Sabrina starts to cry*
Leah: Come here, Sabrina.
*Sabrina and Leah hug*
Sabrina: What happened?
Leah: I was riding on the horse and I fell off. As I went to get up, the horse kicked me in the face.
Sabrina: Ouch. So, any fractures?
Leah: Apart from some bruising, I’ve got a spinal cord injury. I’m going to have surgery.
Anne: Will you still be able to walk?
Leah: Of course. They’re going to put me in early tomorrow.
Sabrina: I’m just glad you’ll be okay.
Leah: I may need help for a few weeks. Mum, would you be able to help me?
Anne: Of course. I thought your father would help you.
Leah: I can’t ask him.
Sabrina: Why not?
Leah: Then, he’d be whinging and whining all the time.
Sabrina: Tell him to suck it up!
Anne: *shocked* Sabrina!
Sabrina: I’m sorry, Mum. *to Leah* Mum will take good care of you.
Leah: I know she will.
Anne: My daughters come first. *smiles*
Leah: And you Miss are going to school. *winks at Leah*
Sabrina: Damn! I wanted to help too.
Leah: You can help by calling me every day.
Sabrina: When am I going home?
Anne: Tomorrow arvo.
Sabrina: Keep me updated.
Leah: I love you, Sabrina.
Sabrina: I love you too, Leah.
*they hug*
(That night, Tracey and Janae are talking in the bedroom.)
Tracey: So, what do you want to do tomorrow?
Janae: We could go to Westfield.
Tracey: I was thinking of going to Crown Street Mall.
Janae: Why there? It’s too crowded.
Tracey: We could go to the city.
Janae: I like the sound of that.
*Suddenly, Janae’s mobile phone goes off*
Janae: Someone’s texted me. Oh, it’s Sabrina.
Tracey: How is she?
Janae: It says that she’s coming home tomorrow afternoon.
Tracey: Oh cool.
Janae: We might go to the city next weekend and go to Westfield tomorrow.
Tracey: Sounds good.
Janae: Boy, I’m tired. Well, I better get to sleep.
Tracey: Good night bestie.
Janae: Good night.
*Once Tracey turns over in her sleeping bag, she looks at a photo of her and Jacob and starts to cry*
Tracey: *softly* This is for the best, Jacob.

NEXT TIME
- Tracey and Janae spend the day at Westfield Warrawong
- Peter and Jacob decide to spend time together
