Chapter 16

The Hospital

Tracey and her son pulls up at the nearest hospital. Tracey races inside to find a doctor.
Tracey "can I please see a doctor"
Tori "Is it for you?"
Tracey "no. we found a man wandering around. I think he has memory loss"
Tori "can you bring him through immediately"
Tracey "I will be right back"
Tori "I will organise a room"
Tracey walks back to her car. Her son had fallen asleep in the back seat. She touches his shoulder and gently wakes him up.
Tracey "where is he?"
Noel "where's who?"
Tracey "the man we rescued"
Noel "I'm not sure"
Tracey "this is exactly what we didn't need. We were suppose to drop him here and be on our way"
Noel "I'm sorry"
Tracey "we have to find him"
Noel "why?, he's obviously fine if he took off"
Tracey "because if we don't find him, we have to tell the cops what we know"
Noel "chances are he won't remember who we are anyway. Doesn't he have amnesia"
Tracey "we can't take that risk. His memory might come back"
Noel "we rescued him, haven't we done enough"
Tracey "We also let him wander off by himself"
Noel "fine, but I'm coming with you"

 

The Caravan Park

Marilyn "John, there you are?, I have been looking everywhere for you"
John "who's John?
Marilyn "haha very funny John. But this is no time for practical jokes. I was worried sick about you"
John "your pretty"
Marilyn "thank you John. But flattery will not get you anywhere without an explanation"
John pulls out his phone from his pocket. Marilyn looks at it.
Marilyn "your phone is all smashed up. How did that happen?"
John "I don't remember"
Marilyn "never mind. We will have to sort it out later. we are already late"
John "late?"
Marilyn "for lunch with Leah and Zac. Don't tell me you forgot. you have been very forgetful lately?"
John "sorry"
Marilyn "we really must be going now"
Marilyn starts walking away. But realizes John mind is elsewhere.
Marilyn "why are you stopping. We really must be going. Our friends are going to wonder where we are?"
John "right"
John follows Marilyn

 

The Hospital

Nate "are you here for a check-up?"
Billy "I know I don't have an appointment. But I have concerns about the baby"
Nate "I will bring you straight through"
Billy "thank you Nate. I really appreciate it"
Nate "can you just wait here a minute. I just need to check on another patient"
Billy "sure. Is everything ok?"
Nate "It will be"
Nate walks off

Nate "can you look after my other patient"
Tori "you mean Mick"
Nate "yes"
Tori "why?"
Nate "something more important came up?"
Tori "right"
Nate "if its too much of a hassle. I can ask another nurse to cover for me"
Tori "you can't just prioritize patients you like over patients you don't"
Nate "that's not what I'm doing at all"
Tori "what are you doing?"
Nate "helping a friend"
Tori "really"
Nate "it's not like that. Billy is having some concerns about the pregnancy"
Tori "doesn't she already have a doctor?"
Nate "her GP is away sick. I really don't have time to explain this. Can you cover or not"
Tori "yes"
Nate "thankyou"

Billy "that sounded intense"
Nate "we just aren't seeing eye to eye at the moment"
Billy "is everything ok between you"
Nate "honestly I have no idea"
Billy "I can go, if it causing issues"
Nate "don't be silly. I'm a doctor and I'm here to do my job"
Billy "but?"
Nate "this has nothing to do with you. Can you please just drop it. Besides we aren't here to discuss my private life"
Billy "how about I ask you a question and then you get to ask me one"
Nate "I do have other patients, you know"
Billy "fine, but you do realize this conversation isn't over"
Nate "now, I will be applying lubricating jelly to your stomach. It may be cold"
Billy "I know how it works Nate"
Nate rubs the ultrasound transducer on Billy's skin.
Billy "how is she?"
Nate "everything is progressing nicely"
Billy sighs a sign of relief.
Nate "where's VJ today?"
Billy "at work"
Nate "how are you coping without him being here"
Billy "fine. He has been amazing. The way he is supporting us"
Nate "but will he stick around"
Billy "not you too. Why do you and Ash seem to think he's going to bolt"
Nate "I think we both know why"
Billy "I've given him a million reasons to walk away and he stayed. I would think that would mean something"
Nate "I don't want to argue. You have to keep your anxiety levels down"
Billy "tell me about your relationship status"
Nate "you never give up"

Great chapter! Mick really is causing tension between Nate and Tori. I can understand Nate's point of view but it is quite unprofessional to deal with patients in this way. If he's really not comfortable with treating Mick (which he clearly isn't) he should remove himself from the case. Interesting that he and Billie seem to be getting on okay now. Mysterious entrance for John's rescuers. Wonder who they are and what their story is? And people need to start paying a bit more attention to John and how 'altered' he has become. Looking forward to the next chapter x

Wondering about John and how he got away from his rescuers.

Chapter 17

The police station
Kat "Sarg, we have just been handed an attempted murder case"
Sgt McCarthy "Do we know the victim?"
Kat "all the information they have on the case if being fax as we speak"
Sgt McCarthy "send all available units to the crash site. Make sure they double check everything"
Kat "aready on it sir"
Sgt McCarthy "do we have any leads?"
Kat pulled the fax off the printer.
Kat "according to this two patients were taken to summer bay hospital following a crash"
Sgt McCarthy "why is this the first time i'm hearing about this"
Kat "cross town police station claimed jurisdiction and no one corrected them"
Sgt McCarthy "so why is the case coming across our desk now"
Kat "the investigation came to a stand still and they were hoping we might have better luck"
Sgt McCarthy "so in our words they are using us for our resources and man power"
Kat "looks like we have to work together on this one"
Sgt McCarthy "for the good of the community"
Kat "I'm heading over to the hospital to find out who these mystery patients are. Maybe we will get lucky and they will still be in the area"
Sgt McCarthy "I will watch over any new developments from here. Oh and Kat good job"

 

Irene's house
Irene "why are you moping around the house?"
Nate "I stuffed up"
Irene "what did you do?"
Nate "you not going to like it?"
Irene "now you have to tell me"
Nate "it's about Mick"
Irene "what about him"
Nate "he got to me"
Irene "what do you mean?"
Nate "I saw you together at the hospital"
Irene "were you staking me?"
Nate "I thought you were going to stay away from him?"
Irene "he's my son"
Nate "I saw how he spoke to you and how upset you were afterwards"
Irene "he's having a hard time"
Nate "stop making excuses for him. He shouldn't of treated you like that. you deserve better"
Irene "that's still not your call to make"
Nate "I let Tori be his doctor today"
Irene "you should of done your job Nate"
Nate "I know"
Irene "you don't have to worry about me"
Nate "but I do worry about you. I worry about what happens next?"
Irene "I thought you'd let this go"
Nate "the residents here. They have a right to know"
Irene "we've been over this"
Nate "the truth always has a habit of coming out"
Irene "we will cross that bridge when we come to it"
Olivia "don't bother explaining. I heard everything"
Irene "Olivia wait!, there are other things at play here that you don't know"
Olivia "I can't be here"

 

The Summer Bay house

Zac "your just in time to help me with the barbeque"
John "ok"
Leah "Marilyn would you mind helping me prepare the salad"
Marilyn "not at all"
Zac "can you keep an eye on the meat while I get us all some drinks"
John "yes"
John turns the knob on the barbeque up to high. Within minutes flames begin to rise and smoke begins to circulate the backyard. John just stands there staring at the flames.
Zac comes running outside screaming "what happened?"
Zac quickly turns the barbeque off.
John "sorry, have we meet before?"

Chapter 18

The Surf Club
Olivia "I kissed someone"
Hunter "what!"
Olivia "that came out wrong. They kissed me"
Hunter "why?"
Olivia "I was confused and upset"
Hunter "so, this is my fault?"
Olivia "no, of course not"
Hunter "what are you saying"
Olivia "I'm just trying to be honest"
Hunter "who is he?"
Olivia "does it matter"
Hunter "it matters to me"
Olivia "I don't love him Hunter"
Hunter "but you feel something"
Olivia "no. maybe. I don't know how I feel"
Hunter "do you need time?"
Olivia "time for what"
Hunter "to sort out, what or who you want"
Olivia "No, there is nothing to sort out. I choose you"
Hunter "are you sure?"
Olivia "yes, your the one I want to be with"
Hunter "that's good, because I can't lose you"
Hunter pulls Olivia in for a hug.

 

The Police Station
Kat "someone has come forward backing up your alibi"
Hunter "who?"
Kat "they wanted to remain anonymous"
Hunter "so I am found not guilty of all charges"
Kat "your free to go"
Zac "what did Kat say?"
Hunter "that they have evidence supporting my alibi"
Zac "that's amazing Hunter. I am so happy for you"
Hunter "thanks Dad. It means the world to have your support"

 

The Diner
Hunter "have you seen Olivia"
Irene "no I haven't. I only just got here"
Hunter "I need to find her"
Irene "you seem happy?"
Hunter "Kat dropped the charges against me"
Irene "congratulations Hunter"
Hunter "thanks. but don't tell Olivia you know. I want to be the one to tell her"
Irene "I wont say a word"
Roo "sorry to interrupt. Did you say you were looking for Olivia?"
Hunter "yes I did. why. have you seen her?"
Roo "yes about 15 minutes ago. She sed something about having to see Mason"
Hunter "I guess I will go find her there then. thanks Roo"

 

The Morgan's House
Mason answers the door.
Olivia "hi"
Mason "hi"
Olivia "are you alone?"
Mason "yes, everything else wont be back for ages"
Olivia "we need to talk"
Mason "I'm listening"
Olivia "this is your fault you know"
Mason "it's takes two"
Olivia "this is both our faults"
Mason "did you tell Hunter"
Olivia "yes. we don't keep secrets from each other"
Mason "so he knows I kissed you"
Olivia "he knows someone did"
Mason "really"
Olivia "I didn't do this for you. If that's what you were thinking. I did it to protect him"
Mason "protect your self, you mean"
Olivia "I'm not doing this. I'm going to the cops, like I should of done the first time"
Mason "wait!, I will tell you everything. just not here in the prying eyes of the neighbours. come upstairs where we have privacy"

Hunter arrives at the Morgan's house. He sees Mason and Olivia going up stairs together.

He rips up the police report from Kat. scrunches it up and sets it alight. He throws it in the green bin at Mason's house. And kicks it over in frustration. Unbeknown to Hunter the fire wasn't completely out and it starts to burn quickly.

Whoa! Hunter seems to be jumping to conclusions after seeing Mason and Olivia 

I hope Mason and Olivia escape the fire when they realise something is wrong
