Sunny Girl Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 The Winter Solstice has come and gone once again, the shortest day gone before a feather touched the ground, in a twinkling of an eye. How did you spend it? And what are your plans for the rest of the year? Me? I saw a movie 'Me Before You, went for a long walk, had lunch out, polished off half a bottle of red and spoke to my best friend. Made plans to write every day, walk every day, try to sort both my living situation and my employment situation out and socialise more. Both with people I care about and people I'm yet to discover. What about you?
Old H&A Fan Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 Just another day. There's no pomp and ceremony, just a point where we have the shortest daylight hours, which isn't as dramatic as England or Sweden. We don't get polar nights or the midnight sun in this bland land of mediocre winters and fire-hot summers.
Matt Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 In my town/city, depends where you are, we hold a candlelight event for mortal illness and removing the stigma around it http://www.bordermail.com.au/story/3983820/2016-albury-wodonga-winter-solstice-your-photos/
Sunny Girl Posted June 22, 2016 Author Report Posted June 22, 2016 That sounds beautiful, Matt. More is definitely needed for such things.
