Telethon 2008

Sat, 6.30pm, Seven/GWN

The red carpet arrival of Channel 7 personalities at the Perth Convention Exhbition Centre signals the beginning of 25 hours of non-stop televised Telethon coverage.

Last year's 40th Telethon smashed all records for raising money for children's charity when more than $6.5 million was raised. The amount was double Telethon's previous best total.

This year, Seven will put on a grand event, with music from the likes of Perth-born US-Idol contestant Michael Johns, crooner David Campbell, Vanessa Amorosi, Damien Leith and Carl Riseley.

Channel 7 celebrities in Perth for the weekend will include Jon Sivewright, Lincoln Lewis and Cornelia Frances from Home and Away; Jack Campbell and Alix Bidstrup from All Saints; Ernie Dingo from The Great Outdoor; Jason Hodges and Rob Palmer from Better Homes and Gardens; Natalie Barr and Mark Beretta from Sunrise; Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur from The Morning Show abd Simon Reeve, Samantha Armytage and Andrew O'Keefe from Weekend Sunrise, and plenty of others from shows such as Packed to the Rafters and Saturday Disney.

For phone donations call 1300 737 507.
