JACK: (Gives Peter a weird look) It seems like it mate PETER: (Talking to the paramedic on scene) How badly is the driver hurt, and who is he? MEDIC: (Looks at peter with hesitation in his eyes) He is fine, just A few cuts and burses and he is in shock, but otherwise he will live. Wish the same could be said for.... JACK: (Walks over to where Peter and the paramedic is standing) Peter I think you should have a look at this MEDIC: I don’t think the second driver will be so lucky! PETER: (Frowns) There was a second driver? JACK: Come Pete you don’t need to see this! (Tries to lead Peter back to the car) PETER: (Looks back and see the second car) That’s Amanda’s car The beach side diner (Rachel enters) IRENE: Hey love what can I get you? RACHEL: Just a coffee thank you Irene LEAH: How is Martha doing? RACHEL: She was pretty shaken up, but luckily Amanda was there for her (Raises an eye brow) IRENE: Those two have seem to be getting on well they come here each morning for breakfast! LEAH: I hope Martha can get through to Amanda, for Belle’s sake IRENE: She is as stubborn as ever that girly is giving me grey hairs over this whole Amanda story (Give Rachel her coffee) RACHEL: Thanks Irene, bye guys (Rachel leaves the diner) LEAH: Let’s just hope the two of them make up before something else happens Yabbi Creek road PETER: (Looks at Amanda’s car it’s a write-off) Where is she? JACK: (Turns to Peter) Peter... PETER: (See the medics cutting into the driver’s door. Bringing a stretcher closer, taking Amanda out of the car and putting her onto a stretcher trying their best to revive her) AMANDA!!! (Runs closer and see her life less body lying there) NO... you can’t be... (Lowers his head and a single tear stream down his cheek) Please tell me this is a dream! (Turns to Jack) Get the car we are escorting this ambulance to the hospital JACK: (Runs the car wile Peter helps the paramedics load Amanda into the ambulance) Peter are you riding in the ambulance? PETER: Yes, Jack please we have to move time is running out and call Fitzy on the way tell her to bring Martha to the Hospital JACK: Sure peter (Puts the sirens of the police car on and start making his way back to summer bay PETER: (Closes the doors of the ambulance and they start moving the sirens go on) Summer bay Police station (The radio conversation between jack and Fitzy) JACK Station this is constable Holden come in FITZY Precede constable JACK: Fitz you have to take Martha to the hospital, and I will go to get Belle FITZY What is going on Jack? JACK: Amanda was also in the accident on Yabbi creek road FITZY: What? Okay Fletcher residence (Belle, Drew, Lucas, Cassie, Rocco, Sally, Brad, Rick, and Mitilda are playing cards around the table) (Knock on the door) SALLY: Hey Jack what brings you here? JACK: (Looks down) May I speak to Belle? DREW: Taylor what did you do now? (Makes a joke) BELLE: Nothing cut it out Drew (Looks at Jack not knowing what to except) JACK: (Takes his hat off) Belle there was an accident BELLE: What are you trying to say Jack? (All the people at the table stands up and stares at Jack) JACK: Belle, Amanda was badly hurt in the accident BRAD: What happened? JACK: Her car collided with a black SUV on the Yabbi creek road ROCCO: (thinks for a moment) Did you say black SUV? JACK: Yes, what do you know about it? ROCCO: Nothing, just seen it around the bay a couple of times BELLE: Is my mom alive? Amanda Vale Posted March 2, 2008 Report Share Posted March 2, 2008 Hey guys sorry for not posting lately please comment on this chapter The story just sort of wrote itself and here we are lol hope you enjoy Thanks for all the comments i have recieved CHAPTER 18 Summer Bay Hospital (Sally, Brad, Martha, Irene, Leah, Dan, Belle, Drew, Matilda, Rick, Cassie and Rocco is standing in the hallway awaiting Amanda’s arrival at the hospital, in an instant the suspense is broken with a shock wave that shoots through every single person there. The doors burst open; a stretcher makes its appearance! And on it lays the lifeless body of Amanda Vale! Mother, friend and ex fiancé.) Emergency room PETER: (Runs his fingers trough Amanda’s hair, as the medics, Rachel and the other doctor try to resuscitate her.) I want you to know… (A tear runs over his cheek) I never hated you… RACHEL: Peter, I’m sorry but you have to leave. PETER: (Looks dazed) No, Rachel I’m staying (Doesn’t know if he will be able to handle it being away from her) RACHEL: (Tries to speak but is interrupted by the other doctor) Peter… DOCTER: Rachel let him stay (Feels sorry for Peter) Outside in the hallway BELLE: What is taking them so long? (A tear rolls down her cheek) IRENE: Love they are doing what they can (Puts her hand on Belle’s shoulder) DREW: Taylor I’m sure Amanda will pull through (Puts his hand on her leg) Your mom doesn’t go down without a fight BRAD: Amanda is a strong woman (Puts his arm around Sally) MARTHA: (Her eyes red from crying) I wonder who the pig was who is responsible for this? (Another team of medics arrives with Jake, the guy who was responsible for the accident) JAKE: (Lays on a stretcher as he is wheeled past the others the medics stall for a moment as he begins to speak to Rocco) Hey mate! ROCCO: (Seems surprised to see Jake, jet furious as he speaks to him. This might just blow his cover with Sally and Brad not even to mention his friends) Hey Jake, what happened? (Doesn’t know what to make of this, Johnny had told him anything about what happened to Jake when they spoke earlier) JAKE: (Frowns as the pain begins to get bad) I was in a car accident… MARTHA: You Pig… (Looks at Jake shooting daggers at him with her eyes, almost trying to look him dead) Amanda is fighting for her life because of you! (She is really pissed off with him) JAKE (Smirks at her) The stupid bitch almost killed me! (Shakes his head) She drove like she had hell chasing her! MARTHA: (Sees the tattoo on his arm, and thinks by herself where have I seen this before? She know it is very familiar but she can’t put her finger on it) Go to hell… (She remembers that Rocco also have the same tattoo, and that’s the tattoo that al members of Johnny’s gang have!) You BASTERD… (She shouts after him as the medics disappear into a room with him) JACK: (Grabs Martha by the arm) Why did you do that? MARTHA: Let go of me! (Pulls out of Jack’s grip) Jack he is in Johnny’s gang! (Looking Jack in the eye, she hopes he will believe her) JACK: Don’t be crazy Martha (Shakes his head) The station had his record checked (Looks in her eyes trying to make her understand) But… MARTHA: (Shouting at Jack) He had the same tattoo JACK: (Shakes his head at Martha) That doesn’t make him part of the gang! (Frowns) And neither a criminal! (Frowns) Lots of people have that tattoo! MARTHA: But… JACK: Johnny is in prison (Or so he thinks) Martha why are you so bugged with Johnny? (Thinks she is hiding something) SALLY: That’s enough you two! (Shakes her head) Amanda is in there fighting for her life and all you can do is jump down each other’s throught’s (Frowns) MARTHA: I’m sorry Sal but… (She tries to get in a word but then she is interrupted by) ROCCO: I’m going for a coffee (Succeeds in braking up and preventing a huge argument) Anybody else want one? BRAD: Thanks Rocco that would be great (Frowns) IRENE: Sure I would love one (Smiles at him) LEAH: No I’m fine thanks DAN: For me two please SALLY: That would be lovely thank you Rocco ROCCO: It’s my pleasure Sal. He turns around to Rachel that follows him out of the room alongside the other doctor and the medics, the air is so thick that you can cut it with a knife) She… (He sobs) Amanda… (A tear rolls down his face) BELLE: What? Is my mom going to be okay? (She does not know if the tears are joy or sadness) DREW: Rachel how is Amanda? (He looks in total shock) DAN: Rachel did she make it? RACHEL: (Starts to cry) I’m sorry… (Tears streaming down her face) Amanda died… (Her words cuts like a blade) BELLE: NO… (Drew holds her in his arms as she breaks down) She can’t be… (Tears streaming down her face) PETER: (Is sitting against the door of the room openly crying) I’m going to… (Sobs to load to get a word out) SALLY: Rachel what happened? RACHEL: Pulls Sally aside, it seems Amanda was sick! SALLY: What? (Can’t believe what she is hearing) Rachel what was wrong with her? Somewhere near Summer Bay (Sam’s house) JOHNNY: Where is he? SAM: He is at the hospital JOHNNY: Get him on the phone and tell him to come over here! (Enters the room where he keeps Val) VALERIE: (Stands up looking frightened) What do you want? JOHNNY: Wouldn’t you like to know? VALERIE: St Op playing your dumb games Cooper JOHNNY: It’s not, tell me where it is and I will let you live VALERIE: I told you I don’t know JOHNNY: (Slaps her in the face) Stop you know I hate that VALERIE: What is it Cooper are you scared? JOHNNY: Shut up would you SAM: (Enters the room) He is here with the thing that you wanted JOHNNY: Great news which I could see all of their faces (He says as he leaves the room, leaving Val to wonder that he is hiding this time) VALERIE: (Shouts at him as he closes the door and locks it) You haven’t changed one bit Cooper what why it didn’t work Summer Bay Hospital Mitzi’s room MARTHA: You look so peaceful and so serene (Takes Mitzi’s hand in her own) MITZI: Moans (She starts to come to) MARTHA: Mitzi can you hear me (She looks at the monitor, and then at Mitzi) MITZI: (There is no response she lies so still) MARTHA: For a moment there I thought you were going to wake up (She lays her head down on the bed and start crying) PETER: (Walks past the room looking for Martha when he hear someone on the inside crying) Martha is that you? (He says as he enters the room) MARTHA: Yes Peter it’s me (She says through her tears) PETER: (Puts his hand on her shoulder to comfort her) I’m sorry about Amanda (Wiping a tear off his cheek) MARTHA: (She stands up for the chair) I’m sorry to (She turns around to face him) She still loved you so much (Bows her head) Why did this have to happen to her? PETER: (Lift up his head) That doesn’t matter now… MARTHA: Yes it does! PETER: She’s gone Martha (Holds back his tears) And she’s never coming back to us MARTHA: (Starts crying again) I know it hurts so much she was my only friend PETER: (Holds Martha in an embrace) You have friend all off them are outside in the hall MARTHA: No Peter your wrong everyone hates me (Pulls lose from his embrace and runs out off the room and the hospital on her way to the parking lot where her car is parked. Pauses She led such a healthy life! RACHEL: Thinks for a moment I wonder if anybody knew about it. Turns and walks away BELLE: Rachel… Walks over to her Can I ask you something? RACHEL: Puts her hand on Belle’s shoulder I’m sorry about your mother BELLE: Thank you Rachel Wipe a tear from her eyes Was my mum drunk when it happened? RACHEL: Well I’m not sure Drops her head, pauses and looks Belle in the eyes The autopsy will have to rule that out as a possibility BELLE: I wish I had told her how sorry I am for being so nasty to her Puts her face between her two hands RACHEL: I’m sure she knew Touches Belle’s shoulder as she walks towards Peter How are you keeping up? She goes and sits next to him PETER: Wipes a tear off is face I can’t believe that she is gone He looks Rachel in the eyes Do you have any idea what happened? Rubs over his hair I know I’m not supposed to ask you now, but anything would help RACHEL: Thinks for a moment Okay I will tell you… Looks over to the others But you have to promise me not to say or report anything before the autopsy is done PETER: You have my word Rachel Takes her hand in his RACHEL: Well we suspect that she died before she was in the accident Looks at him and feels so bad for being the one who has to tell him PETER: Rachel… He looks surprized What gave you that idea? MARTHA: Looks at Brad then at the letter in her hand I… it was on my seat BRAD: Sees the letter in her hand What is it? MARTHA: Looks fear stricken Brad when I opened my car door to get in I found it on my seat Looks down at the letter again BRAD: Holds his hand out to take the letter Can I see it? MARTHA: Gets a troubling look on her face No… Looks at Brad then gets into her car slams the door and drives away. Leaving Brad to wander what is written in the letter that she had. Somewhere near Summer Bay VALERIE: Slams on the door of the room where she is being held against her will Let me go Cooper… Stops abrupt when she hears a noise just outside the door Is that you Johnny? Presses her ear to the door and hears him speaking to someone Why are you doing this? Slams the door with both of her hands Answer me damn Walks to the back of the room Please Johnny… Let’s out a sigh Just let me out of here She shouts, and abruptly turns around when the door flies open and Johnny appears in the entrance JOHNNY: Smirks at Val Shouting for help are we Stares at the entrance as Sam and Rocco enter the room carrying a person VALERIE: Stares at the body lying on the ground it’s back towards her and head covered with a sack Who is that? She takes a step backward What have you done now? She looks appalled JOHNNY: Gives her a blank stare Oh that!
