Extended Summary

Willow runs into Dean, Jai and Amber on the beach, who explain they’re going for an ice cream. They notice Leah continuing to call for Justin and then calling for help. Dean rushes over. Jai wants to help but Willow and Amber usher him away, saying they’ll get Dean a pizza. Dean grabs the discarded board and paddles out, diving, grabbing Justin and helping him onto the board. Justin complains about his back. At Salt, Willow tells Amber and Jai that Dean’s got Justin back to shore. Jai draws a picture of Dean and asks how you spell hero.

Jasmine is leaving the gym while on the phone to Lewis, arranging to meet. Leah and Dean bring Justin in and they explain his back gave while surfing. Justin says it’s just a pulled muscle. Dean gets a towel and Justin thanks him. Leah and Jasmine try to get Justin to go to hospital but he insists he just wants to go home and lie down. Leah tells him to go on and, after failing to move, he says he’ll get a taxi. Leah relents and says she’ll bring the car round. Up at Salt, Jai says he’s going to tell his class that Dean saved someone and shows him the drawing… then asks when he’s going to win at surfing. Dean says they’re waiting for the right weather. Amber takes Dean to the bar and tries to get him to tell Jai the surf comp isn’t going to happen. Dean hopes that John being back will change things.

At the Diner, Irene and Lewis banter about a family secret (seemingly a recipe). Christian comes in and Lewis mockingly asks if he’s enjoying his time off. Christian says he’s got patients he could be seeing and Lewis says he should have thought of that before assaulting him. Irene steps in and Lewis gets a call from Jasmine about Justin’s accident. Christian heads home; Leah fills him in and Justin insists he just wants to rest. Jasmine brings a heat pack. Christian is polite but abrupt towards her and she leaves. Christian says he’ll check on Justin in a minute. Justin refuses to talk to Leah and goes to have a shower.

On the pier, Jasmine tells Lewis about Christian struggling to be civil with her. Lewis calls him a narcissist. Jasmine wonders about him coming back to work, reminding Lewis he’s only been suspended. Lewis thinks the autopsy report will give the board a wake-up call. Back at the Morgan house, Christian tells Justin he can either examine him or call Tori. He recommends scans, but since Justin isn’t keen, he tells him to rest. Leah tries to talk to Justin again but he says he has to rest and turns the television on. Leah goes to their room.

Willow, Dean, Jai and Amber are eating at the flat. Amber reminds Jai to eat his vegetables and says that’s how Dean grew up strong. Dean has to eat a chunk of broccoli to prove the point. Jai asks who’s going to read him a bedtime story and everyone looks at Dean, who agrees. Amber takes Jai to brush his teeth. Dean and Willow reflect that John coming back hasn’t helped the surf club. Willow explains the sponsors are threatening to sue and the surf club can’t afford to put on the competition, so they’re bankrupt either way. Meanwhile, Leah gets into bed with Justin and tells him she doesn’t want to end the day arguing. She apologises for blaming him. Justin says she should have done but Leah says she was taken in by Susie too. She notes she deals with things by keeping busy. Justin recalls Roo said they should support each other and they cuddle up.

Amber joins Willow on the balcony and notes Dean is reading Jai Surfing Monthly. She asks what happens next with Willow’s life. Willow is happy to carry on hanging out with friends but Amber says Willow has sorted them out and needs to concentrate on herself. She recalls the girl Willow mentioned who sounded serious. Willow protests that Amber never even met her. Amber says she has a radar. Next morning, Alf and Irene chat outside the Diner about Susie’s disappearance. Willow joins them as Alf mentions that the surf club committee have overturned the election result, meaning he’s president again.

Up in the flat, Jai asks to go to work with Dean, who says if he did that, he wouldn’t get any work done and no-one could surf. Willow arrives with coffees and tells Dean about Alf being back in charge. Jai starts celebrating going to Movie World again. Amber tells Dean to either talk to Alf or talk to Jai, kissing him goodbye. Dean goes to the surf club and asks Alf about the surf competition. Alf says it’s not happening because there’s no money. Dean points out they both need it to happen. As they chat, Jasmine and Lewis come past, making plans to walk to the lighthouse with a picnic and a bottle of bubbles.

Leah sets Justin up with reading material, snacks and the remote. Justin wants to go and help her but Leah says he couldn’t keep up with her even when not hurt. She checks he and Christian are fine minding Grace. After she’s gone, Christian light-heartedly blames Justin for not warning him how boring it is not being able to work. Justin says he’s got a bad back and Christian says his fiance’s not talking to him. After a few moments of silence, they decide to wake Grace up. Later, Christian is trying to get an uninterested Grace’s attention with some stuffed animals. He comments on Tori’s reaction to his behaviour. Justin points out he did deck someone. Christian is worried about the patient’s family taking action and hopes the autopsy clears him.

Willow and Amber are walking through a park area. Willow notes how sorted Dean and Amber seem to be. Amber reiterates that it’s now Willow’s turning, encouraging her to reach out to Alex or someone else. Back at the Morgan house, Christian finishes a phone call and tells Justin the autopsy results are in and the hospital have called him in for a meeting.
