Extended Summary

Alf is raking leaves in the caravan park when Ryder comes past, wearing a bright striped shirt. Alf is more taken aback by his aftershave. Ryder explains he might see Raffy at work but Alf says Raffy knows what he smells like. Ryder wonders if he should change the shirt; Alf doesn’t answer but he decides to do so anyway. Outside the Diner, Raffy tells Marilyn she’s going home to change but isn’t sure whether it’s a date or not. Colby and Bella come downstairs and there is a round of introductions. Marilyn recommends Bella try the halloumi. Bella has no idea what that is.

Inside, Irene is also introduced to Bella and is delighted that Colby’s found her. She notes she’s just in time for the wedding but Colby admits the wedding is off. Irene says they were a great match then realises she’s put her foot in it. The siblings retreat to a table and Colby admits the wedding was meant to be in six weeks. When he goes to get his order, Bella looks at his phone and sees he has a picture of himself and Chelsea as his wallpaper. At the police station, Chelsea fills out her transfer application, then goes to the office and puts it in the in tray.

John is trying to supervise Ryder at the juice bar but when Raffy comes in he is so distracted he turns the blender on without sealing it and gets splashed. He tells Raffy she looks better than amazing but can’t take a break now. Raffy says she’ll wait and Ryder offers to get her something. She says to surprise her. Later, Marilyn turns up and Raffy tells her she hasn’t got to spend any time with Ryder yet. Marilyn calls Ryder over, telling him he’s on his break. John is confused but a few hints from Marilyn cause him to realise they’re together: He worries how Justin will react. Raffy admits to Ryder that she told Marilyn and he admits telling Alf. They decide there’s no reason to keep it to themselves.

Colby and Bella are setting up the flat; Colby says he’s going to have a shower and crash. He adds that it’s good to have Bella around. After he’s gone, Bella takes his phone again and calls Chelsea. Chelsea is in her caravan and sees the call with Colby’s ID but lets it go to voicemail, microwaving a meal. Bella calls again and this time Chelsea answers. Bella says she needs to talk to her. Chelsea says if it’s about the case she can put her in touch with McCarthy but Bella says it has to be her. Chelsea arranges to meet her on the beach tomorrow morning at 6.30.

Bella and Chelsea meet up, with Bella noting Chelsea’s the woman Colby was going to marry. She wonders why they broke up and Chelsea says Colby put her in a difficult position. Bella says he just broke a few rules and saved Bella’s life, insisting if Colby and Dean had done things Chelsea’s way they’d be dead: Ross had plans for if the police turned up and they didn’t involve giving himself up. At the flat, Colby is panicked to find Bella gone but then she turns up with Chelsea. Bella leaves them to talk, saying she’ll look around the town and check out the surf club.

Ryder and Raffy wander through the caravan park wondering how they’re going to handle the transition from friends to a couple. Ryder suggests they act like normal and grabs a football. They have a brief game, then Ryder grabs Raffy round the waist. They nearly kiss but Alf interrupts, embarassing them. They head to the surf club where John approaches them and tries to give Ryder a warning about boundaries but Marilyn drags him away. Raffy and Ryder prepare to play pool but when Raffy gets a text she’s suddenly reminded Coco will be home in a few days and worries how she’ll react.

Colby and Chelsea chat on the wharf. Chelsea apologises for earlier but says they did need Bella to make a statement to catch Ross. Colby understands but says he now has to put Bella back together. He notes he should have everything he wanted with her back. They conclude Colby was always going to do whatever it took and Chelsea was always going to be a straight cop. Chelsea says she’s put in the transfer application and it’s best she get out of his world. Colby says he did want it to work. At the surf club, Ryder reminds Raffy he and Coco broke up long ago. Raffy still thinks she’ll have a hard time coping but Ryder says they’ve got a week before then. They turn round to find Bella using the pool table. Raffy does introductions. Bella refuses to give up the table but does suggest a three-way game.

In his flat, Colby looks at the engagement ring. In her van, Chelsea is packing and clearing things into a bin bag. She finds some bridal mags but tearfully bins them. At the surf club, Raffy and Bella are playing while Ryder watches. Bella explains Ross had a pool table in the garage that they used to play on; Raffy says she learned from older siblings. Ryder protests she has him as well but Raffy reminds him he was out of the game in five shots. Colby arrives to pick up Bella. They head outside where he tells her Chelsea’s leaving. Bella is exasperated: He looked for her for years but has given up on Chelsea. She tells him to go after her and she’ll get Dean to keep her company.

Outside the flat, Bella shows Colby a message from Dean saying he’s on his way and tells him to get going. Colby dashes to the caravan park and bangs on Chelsea’s van but it’s Alf that emerges. He says that Chelsea’s gone and he doesn’t know where: If Colby had been five minutes earlier, he’d have caught her.
