Extended Summary
Dean is jabbing at the lift call button when Chelsea comes up and says she hopes he’s proud of himself. She gets into the lift; Dean holds the door open and says he didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt. Chelsea suspects he says that a lot yet he still makes everyone’s life hell and tells him to work out why. Dean lets her go down in the lift alone. He goes back to Mangrove River where he knocks on the door of Karen’s place. She doesn’t answer, so he writes a note saying “Living in Summer Bay. Call me” and puts it under the door. He then hides behind a tree. Karen comes out with the note and looks around, but then a man comes out (with his shirt undone) and cosies up to her: She throws the note away and follows him inside.
At the Diner, Marilyn gives Justin a report on Raffy: Tori ordered a second scan and there’s no sign of a bleed. Irene and Justin both assure her it wasn’t her fault, since Raffy lied to her, but Marilyn thinks they should have noticed and not let her go out when exams are due. Jasmine comes in as Irene and Justin point out Leah and the Astonis did the same. At the farm house, Ziggy turns up and, when Maggie tells her Coco is sleeping and is okay, says now she can be mad at her for worrying them. Maggie points out Ziggy did worse. Ziggy notes Maggie looks well: There are fifteen days left on the chart. Maggie says it’s down to Brody, since she’s been using his healthy food recipes. She offers Ziggy some of the whole roast cauliflower she’s just made. Ziggy is sceptical but is surprised that it tastes good. She takes a photo of it, saying she’ll post it online.
Colby approaches Chelsea near the Diner; she is going to the station to write up a report. She thinks Colby should have called in where the kids were earlier rather than protecting Dean. Colby reminds her he gave Dean a serve but Chelsea is unimpressed. Colby says he needs to talk to her. They go up to the flat; Chelsea asks if there’s anything Colby wants her to leave out of her report. Colby says he doesn’t want to talk about that, but about the fact he was scared of losing her. He kisses her but Chelsea says that’s not fair: He keeps saying things are over and then doing things that confuse her. She leaves.
At Salt, Justin and Brody chat about Raffy recovering. Justin asks Brody’s opinion of Dean: Brody thinks they wouldn’t have Raffy back without him, Justin thinks the kids wouldn’t have gone to the house without him. Ziggy comes in and gives Brody an enthusiastic enough greeting that Justin leaves. Ziggy explains about him helping Maggie. Later, Justin is at the bar, munching noisily on snacks while trying to pick out a pizza for Raffy. Brody, who is trying to concentrate, tells him to go and get her a burger from the Diner instead. Ziggy comes in and complains about Brody deciding to work on the one night off they had together, when she’d chosen takeaway and a guy-flick for them. Brody says it’s her fault: Her comments earlier have inspired him to add some healthy dishes to Salt’s menu.
Colby arrives at the Diner to pick up an order. Irene explains that, since Leah and Marilyn have gone home, it isn’t ready yet. Colby approaches Jasmine and asks if he gave out mixed messages when they were together. Jasmine laughs and points out how things went, going from friends to more than friends to too serious. Irene gives Colby the order. Next morning, Ziggy complains to Maggie about Coco’s very precise breakfast requests, then tells her about Brody. They realise he’s not doing anything to promote the idea so head to Salt and take photographs of the dishes, and of them all eating them. Brody thanks them.
Irene sends Marilyn home from work, although not before Marilyn has told Chelsea her order’s on the house and made the same offer to Colby. Colby asks Chelsea if they can meet up later to talk about yesterday. Chelsea says McCarthy wants to see her but she can meet Colby afterwards. Jasmine asks Colby if that was the reason for their conversation yesterday. Later, Dean goes to see Colby at the flat and asks about Raffy. Colby apologises for having a go and Dean apologises for getting him into trouble with Chelsea. He wonders about the two of them, saying Chelsea doesn’t seem to like where they come from.
Brody, Ziggy and Maggie are relaxing when Brody notices they tagged food bloggers into the photos on social media…which means they might turn up, when he’s not got the menu ready yet. To prove his point, they get notifications of a reservation from Epicurious and two more tomorrow. Later, Justin turns up to find Brody running around giving orders to the staff. He explains to Maggie and Ziggy that Brody hasn’t had the best of luck with reviewers. They get a notification of another blogger, Stephen Brown (who even Maggie has heard of and who hates everyone), making a reservation for lunch. Brody takes a deep breath and says to bring it.
Colby and Chelsea meet up on the beach. Chelsea says she spent the night thinking about the kiss. Colby says she’s hung up on his past and asks if she expected him to be different. He thinks she’s after a fantasy version of him. He goes back to the flat but Chelsea follows and insists she knows him. She kisses him and he responds passionately. Later, Colby is on the balcony. Chelsea joins him and asks if the last hour meant something to him. Colby says he’s not always going to make the right decision. Chelsea says none of them are perfect and they agree to work through things together.
At Salt, Brody has got everything organised and Justin, Ziggy and Maggie comment on how things seem to be going well. Then there’s an explosion from the kitchen. Brody emerges and says the stove just blew up: Not only is everything he prepared ruined but he can’t cook anything.
