Extended Summary

Inside Simmo’s house, Ash finds the camera, removing the memory card and finding not only the laptop but Simmo’s sleeping girlfriend. An update from Kat tells him he’s go 15 minutes until the police arrive for the evidence, but he needs access to the password-protected computer. Kat tries to get it out of Simmo ‘to help her colleagues’, but he won’t spill – the cops will need to bring the laptop to him and he’ll do the rest. However within the conversation, he mentions his girlfriend Shanae which gives Kat the idea for the password, and with that Ash unlocks the computer, finding the folder and all the photos…just as Officers Murray and Stevenson arrive. He leaps into a spare bedroom, and Shanae wakes, confused by the police’s arrival. When she enters the spare room, Ash grabs her before she can see him, and holds her silenced until the cops leave with the camera and the laptop, allowing Ash to flee, without Shanae properly seeing him.
In the interrogation room, Simmo couldn’t be happier to show McCarthy his pictures of Kat and Ash, as Kat sits tensely – unsure if Ash deleted the files or not. But when Simmo’s face drops, relief washes over Kat – Ash did it. Later at the Garage, McCarthy and Kat thank Ash for his hand in catching Simmo, before Ash confides in Kat that he had to do something he wasn’t proud of.

Hope has been hauled into the Police Station looking worse for wear, separated after run-ins with the other women in the gaol. According to Kat, Raffy wants to see her but Hope is not obliging ahead of her hearing tomorrow. At the farm, Phoebe finds Raffy in good spirits until Justin arrives and Raffy leaves, obviously avoiding any Morgans. Phoebe and Justin arrive at the Police Station to convince Hope to speak with Raffy but she’s agitated, wired and thinking only of herself. Kat offers to call a doctor for her anxiety but she declines. Hours later and still shivering on the prison floor, Hope requests a doctor. When Nate arrives, he gives Hope the clinical dose of diazepam to help her sleep but Hope demands more. While Nate’s back is turned as he confers with Kat, Hope eyes his doctor’s bag… The next morning, Kat arrives to the Police Station to find a passed out Hope and the bottle of sleeping tablets.

Over a drink a Salt, Nate is trying to side with Zac, but can’t help to see Leah’s side when Sam enters in a red dress and Nate isn’t surprised by Leah’s reaction at all. Nate excuses himself to allow Zac to tell Sam they need a couple of days off from work to let Leah cool down. However Sam takes matters into her own hands, arriving at Leah’s door. She’s quick to apologise for pushing Zac into divulging personal details about their marriage but she is confident she can extract his writer’s voice. It can be painful, but it’s all part of the process in making for a great writer. As Sam leaves, speaking highly of Zac, a look from Leah suggests she suspects more than mentorship between them. When Zac returns home he’s disappointed to learn Sam stopped by but Leah supports his editor’s sentiments, it’s his dream. With Leah’s acceptance, Zac and Sam meet to discuss the book but on breaking for the night, Zac suggests Sam overstepped a mark by coming to his house, reassuring her that Leah and his family always come first. Sam accepts, then opens a bottle of wine to toast to a great novel and a great partnership.
