Brody has another chance at Jeannie after all. Olivia fumes over Hunter’s constant lies. Will Leah find out about the other woman?

Extended Summary

On the beach, a downcast Brody regrets stuffing it up with Jeannie as Mason teases him about always striking out with women. But Mason has spoken too soon as Jeannie strolls down the beach, clearly pleased to see Brody. They have playful banter as she rubs in Brody’s less-than-spectacular volleyball effort before suggesting he should ask her out for a drink later. As Jeannie leaves for a job interview, Brody’s chuffed his luck has turned around. With a spring in his step he heads to work only to find he’s following her. It’s funny, then awkward, but once they’re both in Salt she’s accusing him of stalking her and there’s nothing he can say to convince her he’s not actually a stalker, he’s the restauranteur…and her interviewer. However, as she waits for her interview he returns, serving up his chef’s whites and multiple forms of ID, stopping just short of a plate so she can eat her words. The interview goes no better, descending into a awkward spiral which sees Jeannie leave. At the end of the shift, Mason cleans glasses as Brody cracks a beer and dwells on yet another terrible day with the ladies, just as Jeannie returns. She left because she needed space to hit the reset button, but after Mason makes a wisecrack, she finds herself putting her foot in it with yet the other co-owner. Nevertheless Brody offers her the job, and backs it up with that drink they’d talked about… but Jeannie declines, she doesn’t date co-workers. Brody is back to where he started.

Olivia is fuming after Hunter has asked her to lie about why he missed his exams otherwise their shared dream of going to uni together is over. Olivia concedes despite knowing it’s wrong and ruing the situation Hunter has put her in. But when she reaches Zac’s door, Zac knows his son, and knows exactly why she’s knocking putting him quick on the attack to impress upon Olivia the importance of honesty above all else. She’s left squirming in her seat before she storm out the principal’s office, unable to go through with it, as Hudson and Zac come eye to eye – Hunter’s busted. Olivia unloads on Irene about Hunter’s request and her inability to fulfill it, leaving Irene only one decision, to give that boy a piece of her mind. At the surf club, Hunter and VJ discuss the merits of life as a drop-out as Hunter admits sports physio was just to impress Olivia so she didn’t think he was a loser with no ambition. However when he finds Olivia to confess the same thing, she interprets it as Hunter lying to her and now he’s put her in jeopardy with Zac for nothing. She storms out, demanding he leave her alone.

Marilyn’s awkwardness around Leah over Zac’s supposedly philandering has John bemused until he compounds Marilyn’s nerves, by inviting Leah and Zac for an impromptu BBQ with John explaining to an upset Marilyn, the sooner she realises Leah and Zac are happy, the sooner she’ll get this idea out of her head. Later Leah is full of apologies and excuses as Zac is even later than expected and Marilyn is full of suspicions until Zac arrives to explain Hunter’s debacle and all seems fine between he and Leah… However, over the meal, Leah and Zac catch on to Marilyn and John’s prying, calling them out forcing the blunt John to spill – Marilyn thinks Zac is having an affair. It’s met with shocked silence from all. Zac storms into his bedroom followed by a subdued Leah, furious that Marilyn would ask such a thing but Leah offers that he never did answer Marilyn’s question. Zac is blown away that now his wife doesn’t trust him… He grabs his jacket and storms out but he’s again not answered the question. When he returns with his tail between his leg Leah wants answers, not excuses. She knows Marilyn saw Zac kiss Sam.
