Ricky holds grave fears for a missing Kyle. Dave threatens the lives of Kyle and Isla. The Summer Bay house is vandalised in response to Zac’s charges.

Extended Summary

Ricky is surprised to find that Kyle has left Angelo’s early for the day, which Josh assumes is a result of hooking up with a mystery woman. But Kyle and Isla are, in fact, still trapped in the back of the moving truck, fearing their fate. Their worries are further cemented when the truck abruptly stops – and they have no idea where they are.

The next morning, Ricky’s curiosity is piqued when she discovers that Kyle didn’t come home overnight. Aware of his recent financial troubles and the statement he made to the police, Ricky voices her concern to Kat who assures Ricky she’ll look into it.

Back with Kyle and Isla, the truck door opens and Dave is the there to greet them with a smile. With the help of some threatening mates, Isla and Kyle are lead through bushland, arriving at a clearing, where they’re given a couple of shovels and told to start digging their own graves.

At the station, Ricky’s fears are realised when Kat confirms that she’s been unable to track Kyle, but Dylan has managed to get a trace on Dave’s phone, to bushland an hour out of Summer Bay. With police on their way to the area, Ricky just hopes they get there in time.

The digging continues, but when Dave moves off to make a phone call, Kyle seizes the opportunity, smashing Dave’s mate with his shovel and telling Isla to run. A fight ensues between Kyle and Dave while the thugs tear after Isla. Kyle manages to overcome Dave and heads into the bushland where he finds Isla waiting for him. But when they take off together, Isla manages to fall and sprain her ankle. When Dave finds Isla in the bush, she’s alone with no sign of Kyle. As Dave is dragging Isla back towards the clearing, Kyle appears and smashes Dave over the head with a rock, knocking him out.

At the station, Dave and his mates are led in handcuffed and Kat suggests that Isla will also be charged. Kyle is dismayed to learn this and goes in to bat for Isla, citing that she’s been working for Dave virtually under duress. Kat is aware of this, but can’t turn a blind eye to Isla’s role in Dave’s operation. When Kyle talks to Ricky she tells him to stay out of Isla’s mess. She’s sympathetic but thinks it’s not his problem. Later, Kyle returns to the station to visit Isla, assuring her that he’ll help her fight the charges. Isla is thankful and the connection grows between the pair.

Elsewhere, despite her own assurances that she’s doing fine, Leah is struggling to cope with Zac being charged and refused bail. Alf is holding out hope that Morag’s bail appeal will be successful and Zac will be allowed home.

The next day, VJ and Hunter are dismayed to find that the shower block at the caravan park has been vandalised in response to Zac’s charges. The boys vow to clean up the mess before Leah sees it. But she ultimately stumbles upon the scene and is upset. Alf tries telling Leah that it’s just the work of some kids mucking around, but when they head to the diner that night, Leah notices people gossiping and pointing in her direction.

On the return home, Leah is lamenting the bubbling town gossip. As they approach they see the place has been trashed. They step inside and find that the mess continues there and the words “Murderer lives here” spray-painted across the wall in red. Leah’s horror as she takes it in, fearing that this is only just the beginning.
