Extended Summary
Evie and Maddy are gearing up for the party when Evie calls Hannah to see if she’s going but it goes unanswered…. Hannah is still out cold lying on the ground at uni where she tripped. Thankfully soon after dark, Chris finds her when taking out more rubbish. He’s shocked to see Hannah in this state, it’s clear she’s hit her head. He calls an ambulance. At the hospital Nate’s asks what happened. Chris isn’t sure – she was in & out of consciousness when he found her.
Meanwhile Evie gets her hair done by Leah as the girls discuss whether Evie’s going on a date or not. Oscar comes down ready, wearing another killer hipster outfit. Maddy makes a little joke and Oscar gives it back to her – will everyone lay off his new look? Just then, Alf gets a call to the house; it’s Chris with the news of Hannah’s injury. Leah, Evie and Oscar rush to the hospital. When they arrive, Nate comes out and tells them all that Hannah is conscious but she had quite a severe concussion. They’ll keep her overnight but she’ll be fine. He says they can go in and see her. Chris stands back as the others go in until Nate encourages him that Hannah would want to see him too. Inside, Hannah admits to the others that she simply tripped when she was running – so clumsy! But when Evie asked who called the ambulance, Hannah smiles to Chris, who’s hiding at the back. Chris leaves. Hannah chats to Evie and Oscar for a while then tells them they should still go to the party, she’s fine. As they leave with Leah, Chris is still in the corridor. Evie tells him to go and see Hannah – clearly he wants to see her otherwise he would’ve left already. When Chris goes in, Hannah tells him what really happened; that she was running to catch up to him to ask him something… but Chris can’t handle what she’s about to say so he bails when she’s mid-sentence. Hannah’s hurt. Later, Nate checks in on Hannah and he guesses her downtrodden mood ’s because of Chris. She admits she can’t hold onto false hope anymore. She doesn’t believe Chris is ever going to forgive her.
At the diner, Matt and Maddy are having dinner and STILL bickering. Oscar & Evie arrive from the hospital ready for the party as does Josh – not dressed up. Evie takes this as a sign, thinking maybe this isn’t a date. Matt continues to rib Oscar about his new appearance and finally Oscar gives them a hint. He just wants to start fresh at uni, be a little different. Not the same boring, nerd he was at school. They all assure him he’s awesome and shouldn’t change, but in a flippant way. Leah overhears and later speaks to Oscar alone, genuinely advising that maybe he should give the people at uni a chance to like him as he is, just as his family and friends do. At the party, Evie and Josh are talking but it’s a little awkward. Then Matt and Maddy pass them, fighting again, and Evie goes off. She tells them everyone is sick of their fighting and all their family and friends think they moved in together too fast. She also points out it’s rubbing salt in the wound for Oscar! Matt points out that Oscar seems fine, and they all turn to see Oscar chatting to a group of girls. Matt comments that they’re super hot too, and him and Maddy go off again. Evie yells at them to stop but then realises Josh has been quiet this whole time. Evie feels embarrassed and heads off to get a drink. Matt and Maddy later discuss if Evie’s right: did they move in together too fast? Matt admits that they are quite different, there was always going to be issues. But they can’t ignore the good stuff. Maddy agrees and they start kissing – and they’re all hot again! Josh later finds Evie sitting on her own. She tells Josh she knows he didn’t like the way she spoke to Matt & Maddy earlier.. but Josh stops her. It was awesome; she got them to shut up. She’s awesome. And if he didn’t seem into the party it’s because he’d prefer spending time with her alone. Evie smiles; so it’s a proper date? Josh kisses her.
Nate drops in to Chris at Irene’s house, just to grab the last of his stuff. Nate can’t help updating him on Hannah although Chris pretends not to care. When Chris asks about the move, Nate knows this is his in – he mentions that he almost stuffed it up with Ricky, just because of his doubts about getting burnt again. Sometimes you have to make a leap of faith. Chris can read right through it – Nate is talking about him and Hannah? Nate admits it, then tries being more direct. You love Hannah and she loves you, so do something about it. Chris has been told. Later as Hannah wakes from a nap in hospital, Chris is there. She sits up, wondering what he’s doing here. He breaks the tension with a joke, then tells Hannah that the only reason he’s been so awful to her lately is because of how much she means to him. He still loves her. And if she might want to give them another chance… Hannah pulls him in for a kiss as her answer.
Kat is at work staring at a letter from her insurance company. Dylan asks about it and Kat says it’s personal, about her brother. He suggests they both take a break and grab a coffee, but Kat says it’s not a good idea. Later that night, Dylan tries to chat to Kat but she ignores him. He tries to talk about what happened between them in the past but Kat doesn’t want to – there’s no way she’ll forgive him. Kat then reminds him that he hit her, abused her and made her feel worthless when they were together. Dylan tries to justify by revealing how broken he was after finding his son, dead in his cot. This made him petrified of losing anyone he loved and yeah, made him a little controlling. He regrets losing her. Kat does feel for him but she doesn’t say it. She tells him that nothing will change what he did to her. Later, after Dylan again tries to get on Katr’s good side, Kat lays down the line – she’s working with him on this case and then he’ll be out of here and out of her life again, simple as that. Then Kat finds something about a phone company charge on a credit card of Charlotte’s… she had a second sim card. They check the record and it turns out she called someone half an hour before she died. When Kat searches the number, she finds out it belongs to Kyle Braxton.
