Extended Summary

Dylan brings Ash into the police station in handcuffs and sends him to the interview room. Kat doesn’t think Dylan should have used excessive force to arrest Ash, but Dylan claims Ash was resisting & he was just doing his job. Phoebe feels guilty when she hears that Ash has been arrested, and heads to the police station with Billie. They find Kyle already there, and Phoebe admits she wasn’t with Ash for about an hour on the night of Charlotte’s murder. Billie knows Kat thinks Ash is innocent, and Kat promises to sort it out. Ash confesses that he left Phoebe to pick Billie up in Yabbie Creek, but when she decided to get a taxi he headed to Ricky’s. Dylan thinks it’s a cover story, and he shot Charlotte that night. Ash realises how much trouble he’s in as they move him to the holding cells. Desperate, Phoebe pleads with Kat to help Ash, leaving her torn.

Kat tells Dylan to stop harassing Ash and playing with her friends’ lives. Dylan argues that he thinks Ash did it, and he’s left slightly unsettled that Kat may undo his plan to take Ash down. Kyle asks Phoebe how things are between her and Ash. Phoebe tells Kyle she’s scared of getting hurt again, but knows she shouldn’t live her life in fear. Meanwhile, Kat receives some CCTV footage still images that prove Ash’s story checks out – and that he couldn’t have killed Charlotte, backing Dylan into a corner. Dylan is forced to release Ash and refuses to apologise, furious to have lost the upper hand. Ash finds Phoebe on the beach and tells her that Kat found some evidence to prove he didn’t kill Charlotte. Phoebe’s relieved, and off the back of Kyle’s advice, asks Ash if he wants to get back together. Ash moves in and kisses her, happy to finally have Phoebe back in his life. Kat takes Ash off the evidence board, and tells Dylan he crossed a line earlier, acting more like a jealous ex-boyfriend than a detective. Dylan claims he’s changed, but Kat will believe it when she sees it.

As Hannah avoids Chris, she and Andy remain in relationship no man’s land. Andy asks if she wants to hang out, but Hannah shuts him down, leaving him bemused. But when Andy cuts his shoulder surfing, Alf and John take him to hospital, forcing Hannah to put their personal issues aside as she treats him. Hannah asks Andy how things are at home, and apologises for how she treated him earlier. Andy forgives her and they have a moment, but she leaves the room, unsure how to deal with her feelings. Andy signs out but when he tells her he’s taking the bus, Hannah offers to drive him home. Back at Andy’s and finally alone together, they admit they’ve missed each other and kiss, as they make their way to the bedroom.
