Can Josh save Evelyn from Tank? Roo faces the reality of her decision.

Extended Summary

In the bush, Evelyn apologises to Tank for trying to leave him, trying to convince him she isn’t going anywhere. They hug, but Evelyn is clearly terrified. The next morning, when Tank goes to have a shower, she sneaks his phone out of his jeans and tries to call Josh, but there’s no service.

Finally, Evie manages to find signal and sends a map of her location to Josh using Tank’s phone. But she’s caught in the act by Tank, and, when he realises that she’s done, grabs her. She knees him in the groin and runs to unlock the deadbolt, fleeing the shack. Tank chases after her, trying to apologise. As she hides behind some rocks, he menacingly calls out to her, telling her he’ll find her!

Back in the Bay, the teens are getting more and more worried about Evelyn’s disappearance. When Oscar finds out that Snelgrove hasn’t been able to get hold of Tank either, Josh becomes increasingly concerned, leading Oscar to realise that Josh is still in love with Evie.

Josh gets Evie’s map message, and rushes to find her, telling Oscar to let the others know what’s going on. Soon after, Zac gets a call, and lets the others know that Josh thinks he knows where Evie is. When Josh arrives at the shack he finds it empty – but hears Tank calling Evelyn’s name, and runs off to find them.

Evelyn’s lost, and struggling to keep going. She hears someone approaching and runs again, thinking it’s Tank, but she’s caught by someone – it’s Josh. She clings to him, safe and relieved

When she’s back, Evelyn is interviewed by Constable Stevenson, and promises to come check on Josh later. As he goes, Evelyn admits to Zac and Leah that she was wrong about Tank, and she’ll never scare them like that again. Next on the list is Oscar – Evie apologises to him, and he comforts her, telling her that nobody will let Tank anywhere near her again. She tells him that when Josh found her, she’d never been more relieved to see anyone in her life – and Oscar reveals that Josh still loves her!

Outside, Josh sees Tank near the house. He sneaks around to confront him, but by the time he does, Tank is nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, Tank hits him from behind! Tank, realising how badly Josh is hurt, disappears, leaving him unconscious and with no help in sight.

Roo tells James that his wife confronted her, and that she’s worried she’s destroying his family. He assures her that it’d be worse if he stayed in an unhappy marriage, and that they’ll get through it, but Roo isn’t so sure.

Later at the diner, James gets a call from his daughter, and, as Roo observes him in father mode, struggles to cope with the consequences of her actions upon James’s family.

While Maddie and Oscar are discussing the Evie situation, James approaches her, telling her he thinks she’s being too harsh on Roo. But Maddy disagrees – she doesn’t want anything to do with him, and nobody believes a word he says! If he wants to stay with Roo, he needs to ensure he’s telling the whole truth.

When Roo and James next meet, he’s prompted by Maddy’s outburst to come clean about everything. He tells her his parents died a few years ago. Roo’s stunned, and walks out devastated. He tries to talk to her, but she tells him she’s done with him – he needs to seek professional help and leave her alone.

When he later finds her on the peer, he tells her he’s going to get help, and hopes one day he’ll be the man she fell in love with. But Roo tells him it’s over, she isn’t going to wait, and has finally found the strength to stand on her own.
