Extended Summary

Phoebe and Ash head back to his caravan after saying goodbye to Kyle, and they run into Kat. She tells them she’s moving out of the caravan park; she’s sick of living in a tin box. Phoebe agrees, it’s not the most comfortable arrangement for a girl. Kat says she’s looking for a new place but hasn’t found anything yet. Phoebe’s keen to hear if she finds anything and jokes she’ll fight Kat for it! Once they’re alone again, Phoebe asks Ash when he’s going to go see Billie. He tries to avoid the topic, saying there’s only so many times you can be let down by the same person. At the hospital, Billie is receiving treatment for her burns from Nate. She’s in a dark mood, not sure why Nate is bothering with her. He must hate her after what she did to him. Nate doesn’t wish Billie any ill will, he just wants her to get better. But Billie is depressed; no one cares about her, not even her own brother.

Hannah’s at home, camping out on the couch yet again. Denny enquires whether her new penchant for staying in has anything to do with Andy having a new girlfriend already? Hannah admits it stings that he’s moved on so fast. The world out there is too awkward and hard. Denny also admits she didn’t react well after Ash & Phoebe got together. She suggests maybe her & Hannah try to face the outside world together.

Ricky runs into Andy who’s closing up the gym after a 12hour shift. He mentions that with Billie in hospital and Kyle not answering his phone, there’s no one to cover him. Ricky tells Andy about Kyle leaving the Bay. He’s shocked and asks how Ricky feels about it. She says she’ll miss him but it’s just something Kyle had to do. Ricky suggests Andy take his room now that it’s free so he can stop sleeping on the gym floor. Andy’s not so sure but Ricky won’t take no for an answer. Before Ricky leaves, she asks Andy about this new girlfriend she’s heard about. Andy just tells her it’s nothing serious. Andy sees Charlotte sitting alone in the surf club and heads over. She’s about to eat a protein bar for dinner so he suggests they go eat together. They head to the diner where Hannah & Denny just happen to be having their first venture back into the real world. The girls immediately decide to head to Angelo’s instead. Awkward all round! For Andy and Charlotte, their dinner goes well, and even though both agree it’s not a real date they seem keen to do it again.

Nate crosses with Ash on the way to dinner. Nate asks when was the last time he went to see Billie. Ash is tense; he’s been busy. Nate lets him know that Billie is really down and it’s different that he’s see her before. Nate believes she may be slipping into depression. Ash is sure the hospital has people to help her with that. Nate pushes, saying Billie mentioned him by name. Still, Ash doesn’t want to see her. Nate says he of all people can understand why Ash may want to stay away from Billie. But Ash needs to put aside his own issues and support her; she really needs it right now.

At Angelo’s, Phoebe is having dinner with Nate & Kat when Hannah & Denny arrive. Phoebe immediately apologises to Denny again for everything that’s happened between them but Denny surprises Phoebe by apologising herself. She wasn’t even with Ash when this all happened and she shouldn’t have reacted like that. Denny hopes they can be friends again one day. Phoebe’s so relieved she hugs Denny and asks, is now ok?! They all end up having dinner together – Nate, Kat, Phoebe, Hannah & Denny. Denny has a quick chat to Ricky at the bar whilst she’s working, telling her about the awkward start to their evening seeing Andy with his new girlfriend at the diner. At the table, Kat and Phoebe start complaining about living in the caravan park again and Hannah gets an idea. The twins have just moved out so why doesn’t they both move in with Hannah & Denny? Kat & Phoebe are ecstatic and accept immediately.

The next morning Phoebe corners Ash to talk about what Nate said last night. She wouldn’t normally push but she believes that Billie really needs him right now, and Ash knows that. He’s already lost his brother, he doesn’t want to lose her too. Phoebe must’ve gotten through to him because he turns up at the hospital to see Billie. She’s relieved to see him. He asks how she is. She explains how hard it is that everyone thinks she lit that fire. She can understand why but she asks if Ash still thinks she did it? He’s solemn, saying the evidence is pretty clear. Billie becomes cold, lashing out, saying Ash is no angel – he was arrested for armed robbery! He’s not a good guy, especially if he won’t even believe his own sister when she’s telling the truth. If he’s going to treat her like this, she’d rather not have a brother.

Hannah and Denny are cleaning the house ready for Kat and Phoebe to move in. They’re both excited about the new start, especially Hannah after all that happened with Andy. Denny remembers, she forgot to tell Hannah that she spoke to Ricky last night. Ricky told her that Andy and Charlotte aren’t even serious, they’re not even in a real relationship. She asks if Hannah still has feelings for Andy? She does. Denny encourages Hannah to approach Andy before it does become serious. Meanwhile outside the surf club, Andy passes Charlotte on her way home and they’re quick to start flirting. Charlotte just comes out and says it – she thinks they should stop pretending. She can’t stop thinking about him. Andy says the same thing about her. With a cheeky smile from Charlotte, Andy kisses her…just as Hannah walks by on the way to talk to Andy. Bad timing! Hannah marches back to the farm house and tells Denny what she saw. Denny’s sorry she pushed her to go but Hannah thinks she needed to see it for her to be sure that her & Andy are really over.

Ash is telling Phoebe how Billie is. He’s worried about her. Meanwhile Billie is writing a note “Ash lied. Brax is still alive”. She then addresses it to Ricky. Soon after, Nate finds her bed empty. Billie’s done a runner from the hospital…
