Extended Summary

As the news of Miles’ and Kirsty’s relationship spreads, Miles is happy to have things out in the open, but Kirsty is worried about being judged for moving on from Kane so quickly, and about how Bartlett will react. She’s right to worry. Bartlett is soon heaping extra work on Miles, and criticising Kirsty for the mistakes he’s always previously tolerated. Miles doesn’t understand where it’s all coming from, until Leah tells him that Bartlett is still enamoured with Kirsty. Finally understanding what is really going on, Miles is angry, but at Kirsty’s behest, he agrees to give Bartlett a few days to calm down before he does anything. Kirsty just has to hope she’ll still have a job by then.

Things are still rough between Tony and Rachel, and he’s been staying at Jack’s while Rachel works around the clock to try to distract herself. Unable to bear it any more, Tony asks Rachel to sit down and talk things though properly, and she agrees to meet later. But then she bumps into Bridget. Not only has Bridget decided to stay in Summer Bay, she’s found a job at the Surf Club. Unaware of who Alf had hired, Tony promises to sort it out, but with everything brought back to the surface, Rachel decides to postpone their talk. When Tony speaks to Alf, he’s forced to tell him the truth about what happened with Bridget, and Alf is left with little choice but to let her go.

After seeing Belle kiss Angelo, Aden goes straight to Roman to ask for a lift back to the clinic. It’s clear to Roman that something is wrong, but Aden won’t say a what. When Roman asks Belle what happened she’s confused at first, and then the realisation of what must have happened falls into place. But when she goes to visit Aden, he refuses to see her. Roman decides to try his own luck, and Aden insists he doesn’t care, that if anything, he’s happy Belle’s found someone else, so now he can focus on recovering without worrying about her.
