Jack’s plot to bring Cam undone goes horribly wrong, Kelli’s latest evil plan puts Ryan’s life on the line, Amanda is devastated by Dan’s decision.
Extended Summary
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Rowan is still trying to figure out how to deal with Jack’s request to plant drugs at Cam’s club. Jack reminds him that Cam didn’t think twice about hanging him out to dry – he doesn’t give a rats about you. One of you is going to gaol – wouldn’t you rather it be him than you? Rowan realizes it’s an offer he can’t refuse.
At the Diner, Leah reads out a post card from her brother Alex about his travels, as Alf tries to chat with Martha, who’s still being off hand. He invites her to Pippa’s preschool concert – but Martha can’t make it – she’s working – leaving a deflated Alf. Jack arrives and Alf congratulates him on trying to shut down the Rocket Club last night – they’re both getting the cold shoulder from Martha, but Jack is determined to catch Cam out next time, no question.
Later that arvo, Patrons begin to trickle into the Club – Cam’s offering two for one drinks to try and make up for the disaster of last nights raid, as Rowan sneaks in, makes sure Cam is distracted and darts into the office… Cam then heads in the same direction and catches Rowan red handed as he’s planting drugs into his bag! Rowan protests that this wasn’t his idea – and Cam knows straight away it’s a set up. What will he do?!
Ethan & Kelli meet up at the beach – he wonders if she’s tired of all this plotting against Amanda – hasn’t she done enough? Kelli puts him in his place – reminding him that he was a petty crim when she met him and she can easily put him back there! Kelli picks up Ryan, assuring Dan that Amanda is in alcohol counseling and has nothing to worry about. Dan’s glad to hear it. Kelli is looking after Ryan, when Amanda returns home – Ryan wants to go to his mate’s party now. Kelli then takes a call from Ryan’s mates mum – he’ll be dropped home at six. Kelli lies and tells Amanda 7pm instead – but writes ‘6pm’ on the notepad by the phone.
After the party, Ryan is dropped off as planned, lets himself in, and no ones home. He starts to make himself some toast. It gets stuck and smoke starts billowing out – so Ryan approaches the toaster, knife in hand and just as he’s about to put the knife in, Dan enters and grabs Ryan before he electrocutes himself! Ryan’s a little shocked and teary as Dan holds him – where’s mum? She’s not here. He’s home alone. Dan is furious. He takes Ryan to the Diner with him and explains to Irene and Leah what’s happened. Kelli rushes in, feigning concern for Ryan and explains that Amanda is at a hair appointment. This is the final straw for Dan. Amanda calls Kelli – you better get to the Diner. She arrives, protesting that she was going to be home by 7pm as planned – but Kelli buts in, he was getting dropped off at 6pm. Dan puts his foot down – he’s applying for permanent custody of Ryan – you’re an unfit mother. Amanda is gutted, but Kelli is quietly thrilled.
At the Police Station, plans are underway for tonight’s raid on the Rocket Club. Jack’s nervous, hoping he can pull this off. McGrath warns him to keep his head in, as they move out. Cam is edgy at the Club, knowing the raid is imminent. Martha finishes her dance and clocks Cam’s distraction, but before she can question it, Jack and the officers spread through the club calling for all to stay where they are. Jack approaches Cam with a warrant as Martha and Cindy protest, then Jack heads straight for Cam’s office. Jack’s starting to sweat – where the hell is the stash?! Then McGrath appears with a hand bag – he found it in the dressing room and there’s a stack of cocaine inside. Martha looks at it, bewildered, before admitting that it’s hers! Cam stares at Jack – gotcha – as the implications of this disaster hit Jack – Martha’s in big trouble. Officers haul her to the car as she begs Jack to fix this! Meanwhile, Jack’s trying to figure out how it all went so wrong. McGrath questions Martha and the tension is thick as Martha begs them to believe she’s innocent. Jack, feeling incredibly guilty, promises to do everything to get her off this charge. When questioned, Cam implies that he thinks a cop planted the drugs and implies Jack. He tells him his risk didn’t pay off, that he busted Rowan. It’s now that Jack realizes that Cam switched the plant to Martha’s bag – calling him a low life piece of scum. McGrath has no choice but to arrest poor Martha!
