Cassie desperately tries to keep the truth about her reunion with Macca from Ric, Drew finds himself in a steamy dilemma, and Jack stumbles upon some ‘impossible’ evidence.

Extended Summary

Morag gathers her things to meet with Robbie about his case as Cassie comes down stairs, feeling very guilty about Macca. Alf calls her on it as Macca himself appears. Cassie is flustered, but Macca’s just in to pay rent. Alf heads off leaving the pair alone and she tells him off for just turning up. This is going to be difficult and no one can find out. Cassie suggests he also find somewhere new to live the caravan park is too close – he agrees. They arrange to meet later, in secret, at the cliff top. Macca is about to put a notices up in the Diner for a new room and quick as a flash, Irene suggest some one who is looking for a place. Meanwhile, Cassie gets ready to see Macca and is behaving nervously – Alf clocks her odd behavior and just as she’s about to head off for her secret meeting, she finds herself face to face with Ric who’s just arrived home – surprise! He had the morning off and wanted to see her – she looks great! Cassie’s face falls as Ric moves off to dump his stuff. Ric is being all romantic with Cassie – who’s distracted by her guilt. Cassie is about to tell him the truth, when Ric spills his drink on his shirt. He races up stairs to get a clean one as Macca appears looking for Cass. Ric reappears & Macca covers saying he’s paying rent… This is getting too tricky! Ric later asks Cass if she’s finding things awkward with Macca around? Cassie says it’s fine and gives him a kiss goodbye as he heads back to the city. He goes and her smile fades – it’s taking it’s toll… She meets Macca on the cliff top later that day, telling him how bad she feels for lying to Ric – she tried to tell him, but couldn’t bring herself to do it. Cassie assures Macca that she wants this – but knows Ric will hate her for it. Macca tries to comfort her – but it’s not going to be easy to break Ric’s heart…

On their way out from the Diner, Belle & Drew bump into Amanda and Drew is instantly flustered to see her after his recent incident of seeing Amanda naked so drew quickly makes an exit. She moves into the Diner and Dan comments how well things are going with Drew and Belle after they had their chat. Irene is pleased too and invites Amanda, Belle and Drew over for lunch – Amanda thinks it’s a great idea and will tell the kids. At the surf Club, Belle is still trying to convince Drew to pose naked for her art project as Amanda arrives, telling them about lunch at Irene’s then moves to the gym to start her work out. Drew can’t take his eyes off her… Belle is a bit bemused by Drew’s vagueness as she talks to him, but thinks nothing of it. Amanda then comes over to Drew, sweaty and sexy and asks him to drop by the house – she wants him to check something with the pool. Flustered, he agrees, before making another quick exit with Belle… Later that day, Amanda walks into the house from the pool, looking hot in her bikini and Drew arrives to help her with the pool. Amanda tells him she saw the way he was looking at her at the gym and that he doesn’t have to pretend anymore… As she moves in to kiss him, Drew wakes with a start from a dream! He reminds Belle that they have to get to Irene’s for lunch… Drew is quiet throughout, unable to make eye contact with Amanda – the poor guy is really finding this difficult. How the hell did he get himself in this mess?!

Jack is still trying to find a connection between the pyro and Drew, but not having much luck, when Dave the fireman arrives wanting to see how things are going. He questions Rice about it in detail and Jack can’t help but find it a little suss. After Dave moves off, Jack asks Rice what he thinks – but Rice doesn’t think it’s odd – the guy is following up a case – it’s his job – but Jack decides to take a look at Dave’s file and finds that he lived near Drew’s boarding school and wrote a report about a fire at the school – and notices that Dave moved to the Bay only two weeks before the first pyro attack. Rice thinks it’s sheer coincidence. Adams arrives to report that forensics have found DNA on the canister of kero found at the latest fire – the results should be in soon. Dave then returns to pick up his hat that he left behind and Jack subtly quizzes him and is surprised when Dave lies about where he was trained… Is Dave the pyro after all? He calls the academy Dave trained at and learns that he was involved in an unauthorized fire that nearly got out of hand – in Jack’s eyes it’s further proof that Dave could be the one they’re after… Rice still isn’t convinced as Adams rushes in with the DNA results – it’s a positive match and they won’t believe who with. Jack grabs the papers and is stunned to learn that the DNA belongs to Peter Baker! What the…?!
