After the break in, will Olivia and Hunter stay in their new house? VJ finds out Zac’s dirty secret. Ash gives Irene and VJ an ultimatum about custody of Luc.
Extended Summary
The police go over Olivia and Hunter’s place for evidence after the break in. They don’t have insurance and their laptops are gone, as well as Olivia’s uni assignment. Their hard-fought happiness has dissipated. Irene offers to have Olivia and Hunter come back to live with her, at least they will be safe. Hunter doesn’t have any luck asking the landlord for security bars or a door. Olivia does the sums, she’s going to have to pick up more shifts which means they won’t see each other much – and that was the whole point of moving out together. Hunter and Olivia move back to Irene’s together. They’re kind of glad to be going.
Despite texting and emailing, Zac still hasn’t heard from Leah, who has escaped to her parent’s house. VJ asks him if something’s going on, but Zac keeps his word to Leah and pretends he’s just stressed about work. VJ’s feeling better having had some sleep and closer to taking Luc back from Irene. Zac receives an email reply from Leah telling him to leave her alone, he cheated on her! Later, VJ finds Leah’s email to Zac on the computer and learns that Zac cheated. VJ confronts Zac, asking if it’s true, did he cheat on his mum?
Kat’s not impressed with Ash’s decision to take on custody of Luc, he hasn’t thought this through properly. Having had time to cool down, Irene and Ash try to resolve their differences calmly. VJ arrives in the middle of the discussion and is furious Ash wants to go for custody. The three of them have it out, Irene trying to keep the peace. Irene tells them all to suck it up until Leah returns. Ash leaves threatening to step in if he has to, for Luc’s sake. Kat tries to talk Ash down from going after custody, for VJ’s sake, but is taken aback when Ash blithely suggests Luc needs a stable home life with both of them – Kat’s not sure about her sudden inclusion in this little trio. Patrick can’t believe Ash wants to go for custody but Ash doesn’t feel like he has a choice. Luc needs someone to be there for her no matter what. Patrick reminds him Billie loved VJ and wouldn’t want him getting hurt. Ash is right to be worried but going in firing doesn’t always work – Patrick seems to be speaking from experience. VJ and Irene meet at the diner at Ash’s request. He won’t go for custody but he’s not happy, he doesn’t like Luc being passed around. VJ can’t rely on Leah to always be there, he needs to think about that. Ash wants to be involved in decisions about Luc in the future. If VJ and Irene can’t meet his conditions he will go for custody. They agree reluctantly.
