Extended Summary

Phoebe is struggling to come to terms with her decision to press pause on her and Justin. Venting to Kat, she reasons that giving herself space is the right thing to do and Kat supports her stand, unaware that the moment Phoebe had with Ash has a lot to do with her current frame of mind. Justin is respecting Phoebe’s wishes, but he’s disappointed. His brooding is cut short by an edgy Decker’s arrival. Decker doesn’t want to see Raffy – he knows she’s aware he’s her father. He’s come to warn the Morgan’s. He’s found out who the bad cop is and wants to take the syndicate down. Justin realises Decker’s asking him to testify when he brings them to court next week. Decker promises there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Before he can slip away, Raffy finds him. At first happy to see her dad, Raffy starts asking him questions – hurt about the lies and the fact that he’s been missing for so long. She storms out.

Phoebe’s ‘no Justin’ stance becomes complicated when she finds Raffy in tears, lamenting that Decker is in town and wants nothing to do with her. Supportive, Phoebe decides to take Raffy home to sort out the mess, well aware that Justin will be there. Back at the Morgan’s, Decker’s blaming Justin for letting Raffy find out the truth of her paternity. Justin’s angry at Decker for not being there for Raffy. He needs to spend time with his daughter (Justin’s speaking from experience of missing Ava). Phoebe and Raffy finally arrive back at the Morgan’s. Decker apologises – for everything. They have a lot to catch up on. They should start now. When Decker and Raffy move off to reconcile, Justin attempts to break the ice but Phoebe stays strong and leaves. Justin follows, explaining that the reason Decker came back is because he’s identified the dirty cop and needs Justin to testify in court. The upshot is that the Morgans may be out of witness protection soon and can start a normal life. Phoebe thinks it’s great, but surprises Justin by saying it makes no difference to them. She meant what she said when she told him they were over.

Meanwhile, Kat’s still investigating the Morgan link – knowing something’s up with them. She’s got files about the Morgans’ that make no sense… the plot thickens.

The only thing concerning Nate and Tori right now is keeping their relationship a secret. After spending the night together, they arrive at work and struggle to keep their hands off each other. When they are almost caught out by Nurse Romina, they try to stay professional towards each other, even staging an argument to convince staff they aren’t together. The problem is, even that ends up with them kissing in private. It’s not long before Nurse Gretchen tells Tori to drop the act, she knows they’re an item.

John is back at the surf club after a few days’ rest. He covers any concerns about his health as he puts out the flags with Alf but the two are quickly distracted when they discover Heath unconscious on the sand. They take him to the surf club, and Alf tries to get to the bottom of why he wrote himself off. Heath is abrasive, eventually storming off and leaving Alf concerned.

Meanwhile, Bianca’s set on divorcing Heath and Irene’s pleas for her to stay an extra day or two fall on deaf ears. But when Irene learns about Heath’s bender from Alf and finds him lying by the sand dunes. She knows he’s hurting, but drinking is not the way to fix things with Bianca. Heath’s not trying to fix things – he’s done. Thrown by Heath’s devastation, Irene urges Bianca to talk to him, concerned he might be self-destructing. She knows Bianca still loves him – she needs to help him for his sake and the kids’. Bianca finds Heath and admits she hates the way things are, trying to lift his spirits by reminding him what a great dad he is and how good they once were together. Buoyed, Heath agrees but his hopes for reconciliation are short lived when Bianca realises he misunderstood her and reminds him that she still wants a divorce. Devastated and furious, Heath tells her to go to hell before storming off and spiralling even further out of control.

Alone and seemingly drunk, Heath takes a call from Darcy who needs to be picked up. Driving and struggling to concentrate…

Nate’s coming from the other direction and finds Heath’s car pulled over. He opens the door to find an unconscious Heath against the steering wheel, unconscious.
