Irene’s nearly ready to head to the fundraiser when there’s a sudden blackout. Heading for the fuse box she is startled by some noises, – but no one’s there. She resets the main fuse and goes to head back inside, but after another noise she becomes convinced someone is playing around with her. A knock at the door startles her, she opens it ready to tell off some kids, when she discovers a man at the door who says he is Chris’s uncle Mick. He’s just returned from overseas, and thought he’d drop by and see Chris. Initially hesitant, Irene invites him in while they wait for Chris.
The SES and Nate eventually free Maddy with a suspected arm fracture. Matt rides along in the ambulance with her.
Panic begins to overwhelm Evelyn so Leah escorts her back to the house.
Roo wakes at last, alone in the rubble, barely able to sit up. Trying to free herself she notices an arm protruding from underneath nearby debris…motionless. Irene is sure Chris wouldn’t know about that. She’s starting to feel uneasy about this guy. Realising she’s late for the fundraiser, Irene attempts to leave, but is suddenly grabbed by Mick. He’s snaps –telling her she’s never going to leave him again. She struggles, but he overwhelms her, making it clear that if she’s going to get out of this alive, she has to do exactly as he says…
