Extended Summary
Struggling to keep his hopes up with Marilyn still in a coma, John is buoyed when James tells him she has improved enough to be taken off the ventilator. But Marilyn takes a turn, and after stabilising her, James is forced to reverse his decision, explaining to John that the after effects of an electric shock are extremely unpredictable. Desperate, John pleas for Marilyn to come back to him, he loves her more than life and needs her – and she squeezes his hand! With Marilyn seemingly back to normal and ready for visitors, John enters her room, but she doesn’t recognise him. She thinks she’s still married to Don Fisher! In getting Marilyn back, has John lost his wife forever?
After having another nice moment with Nate on the beach, guilty Ricky discovers that Kat tried to shoot Charlotte. Ricky visits her and sets the record straight – there is nothing going on between her and Nate, and sleeping together was a mistake. They are just friends, and Nate cares about Kat more than she realises. Encouraged by this, Kat meets Nate, and tells him she wants him back. Nate is hesitant, but Kat is willing to forgive him for sleeping with Ricky, and doesn’t think they should throw it all away if they still love each other. Meanwhile, Roo, who has noticed Ricky’s feelings for Nate, pushes Ricky to put herself out there. Ricky admits that she’s afraid, but Roo doesn’t think she should live her life that way. Taking Roo’s advice, Ricky finds Nate – but he’s with Kat, and learns that they’re giving it another shot. Has Ricky missed her chance?
Charlotte continues to spin more lies to cover her tracks, telling Kat that she was sleepwalking to explain why she was in the bait shop. Despite this, she is unable to convince Kat to keep mistakenly firing at her low profile, and a police investigation begins the next morning. Worried about the consequences for both she and Hunter if she is caught for Denny’s murder, Charlotte explodes at him when he checks that she’s okay. But Hunter, who also thinks he’s the reason she’s sleepwalking, doesn’t want to be the source of Charlotte’s stress any more, and buys her some flowers and card as a gesture of his efforts to be a better son to come. Realising that the situation just keeps getting messier the more she tries to fix it, Charlotte breaks down – she’s completely lost control of her life. Is it just a matter of time before she gets what she deserves?
