Ian Meadows is set so star in a new ABC comedy series called "This Christmas".

Ian Meadows starred as Rocco Cooper in 2007 who was the brother to troubled gang leader Johnny Cooper. Rocco died after being beaten to death at the request of his brother.

Filming on ABC’s new comedy series This Christmas started in Sydney this week.

Created by Phil Lloyd (Review with Myles Barlow, At Home With Julia) and Trent O’Donnell (The Chaser’s War on Everything, Laid, Review with Myles Barlow), the 6 part series visits the ‘lovably dysfunctional Moody family, once a year, as they come together to share this universally celebrated holiday, stuffed full of all the fun, fights, bad gifts, boring uncles, overbearing in-laws, shocking family secrets and bizarre eccentricities that any family who‟s experienced the melting pot of Christmas Day will relate to.’

It stars Ian Meadows, plus Patrick Brammall, Danny Adcock, Tina Bursill, Guy Edmonds, Darren Gilshenan, Rachel Gordon, Jane Harber and Lloyd.

Each episode is set a year apart, as Dan (Ian Meadows) visits home every year at Christmas, to be with the family he ran halfway across the world to escape.

ABC TV Head of Comedy Debbie Lee said: “Phil and Trent’s idea for This Christmas was a standout from the start. Christmas is a time ripe for comic picking and the series promises to be both oddly familiar and deliciously funny with our fantastic cast and crew set to bring the Moody family to life.”

Directed by Trent O’Donnell, it will be produced by Andy Walker co-produced by Phil Lloyd, and executive produced by Jungleboys’ Jason Burrows and ABC TV’s Debbie Lee.

The show sounds interesting. It'd be nice to see Ian Meadows again.

There are quite a few other H&A guests who are in it: Tina Bursill (Stella Patterson), Danny Adcock (Mr Robertson in 2003 and Bishop Pitt in 2010, 2011), Patrick Brammall (Ethan Black in 2007), Rachel Gordon (Jacinta 'Jazz' Curtis), Guy Edmonds (Brodie Upton in 2011). Phil Lloyd is also a writer for Home & Away.

Thank you for posting the article. :)

Yes. Thanks for that. I missed those :(

Although, I still don't understand why they had to kill off Rocco.

Remind me again, Wasn't Ethan Black that guy that was helping Kellie get revenge on Amanda ?

Yes, I think so. I wonder what Rachel Gordon has been doing all this time, this is the first time I've heard her doing anything since her playing Jazz.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks AznPride112 and Barbara for sharing that information about Ian Meadows and his next project.

That's awesome about Rachel Gordon being in the same production along with other former H&A stars. I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Ian Meadows has also been nominated for an AWGIE award in the Television Series category for "Spirited": Living In Oblivion. He sounds like one talented young man!! All the best to him. :D
