“Here’s your water babe” I said entering the room.

“Thanks” he said taking it off me.

My phone started to ring as I went to get it I noticed it was a private number.

“Hello” I said.

“Don’t hang up yet, I have to tell you something” Mum said.

“Mum I thought I said to not contact me” I replied annoyed.

“Yeah but I thought it best that you hear this from me and not from someone else” she said.

“Hear what from you?” I asked.

“That I’m pregnant and Vittorio’s the father” she said.

“What?” I shouted.

“Yeah it’s true” she said.

I sat down in a chair. “Seriously, your pregnant?” I said. “I don’t believe it. This is so disgusting. I don’t even know what to say or think. Its just gross”

“Your going to get another sister or a brother” she reminded me.

“Yeah but my ex is the father. I seriously don’t know how you think this is okay. I’m going to hang up now because I have to go vomit because its so gross. Don’t call again. Goodbye Mother” I said.

“Baby, is she really pregnant?” Liam asked.

“Yeah” I replied. I got up and went to the bathroom to vomit.

I brushed my teeth and sighed. I couldn’t believe my mother.

“How am I going to tell April? She has had enough already to deal with” I said.

“It’s probably best to tell her in person” Linda suggested.

“Yeah that’s true” I agreed.

I sat on the bed and looked at Liam.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

“Not really it hurts alot but I really hope she looks after this kid properly not like how she looked after April and I”

“Does it hurt because you wish it was you?” Liam asked.

I leaned back on the bed and faced him. “No I don’t wish it were me. It hurts because it sounds like she actually cares about something and she never really did with me or with April. It hurts because she doesn’t want to know me anymore and it’d be nice if she did want to know me even if I can’t speak to her right now. It hurts because she doesn’t care that I’m happy or that April is happy. I just don’t want it to hurt anymore” I sighed. “God you shouldn’t be listening to this crap now you just got out of a coma”

“I wish I could stop you hurting baby” he said.

“So whose for dinner?” Linda asked suddenly.

“Actually I am pretty hungry” Liam admitted.

“Okay I’ll get you something. Bianca want to come help?”

“Alright” I said wondering what she was going to say.

We walked out of the room and down the hall in silence. She turned to me and to my surprise gave me a big hug.

“I know Liam wanted to do that darling. Did you want to talk?” she said.

“It just hurts. I don’t want it to. I don’t want to care about her but she’s my mum its hard not too” I said. “I wish she were more like you”

“I have my faults you know” she said.

“Yeah but at least you hug me and call me darling or sweetheart. My mum never did that. And you hardly know me” I said.

“I’m sure you know that Liam & I like to talk”

I smiled. “I know. Its nice, and you know I’ll never get in the way of that” I said. “I wish I knew what that felt like”

“Well you know you’ve got that now darling” she said.

And again I surprised myself by starting to cry. I guess the emotions of the last two days have caught up with me. Linda put her arms around me and let me cry on her shoulder.

“Everything’s going to be alright darling” she said comforting me.

“Thankyou” I said a few minutes later.

“Don’t worry, I know you needed it”

“Yeah I really did” I agreed.

“Oooh sorry didn’t mean to interrupt but Liam’s getting pretty hungry” Lucy said walking up to us.

I wiped away the rest of my tears. “Is that all that’s wrong with him?” I asked.

“Yes” Lucy answered. “Though he is worried about you. Are you okay? That was pretty intense”

“I’ll be better once I talk to April. And once Liam gets out of here” I answered.

“Yeah its been a tough couple of days for you hasn’t it?” Lucy said.

“Yeah I guess so” I replied. “Not knowing whether Liam was going to make it was so hard. I can’t imagine my life without him in it”

“Yeah I’d be lost without my little brother” Lucy said.

We got some food and brought it back to the room. Liam was sitting up on the bed now.

“mmmm hospital food” Liam said.

“Well its better then nothing” I remarked.

“Yeah thats true” Liam agreed.

I proceeded to open his sandwich up for him.

“Baby” Liam said.

“What?” I asked looking into his eyes.

“Tell me your not okay” he said.

I put the sandwich on a plate. “I’m not okay” I replied sincerely.

I hopped onto the bed and handed him the sandwich.

“Well as soon as I get out of here I’m going to make sure that your okay” Liam said.

“Yeah? And how are you planning to do that?” I asked.

“That’s for me to know baby and for you to find out” he said.

“Okay that’s fine don’t tell me” I replied.

“Hey you guys I’m sorry but visiting time is over” Julie one of the nurses said.

Liam’s family said goodbye to us and walked out the door.

“Bianca? Are you ready to leave?” Julie asked.

“Sid said I could stay” I said.

“Okay I’ll just go confirm that” Julie said.

A few moments later Sid came in.

“Bianca said that you told her she can stay” Julie said to Sid.

“Yes she can stay”

“But Dr Walker” she started.

“Hey if I’m causing trouble I can go” I said not really wanting to leave though.

“No your not causing trouble. Julie its fine Bianca’s staying” Sid said.

“Fine. I just think your making different rules for your friends” Julie said but she let it go and left.

“I’m sorry” I said to Sid.

“Don’t worry about it. Liam get some rest okay? Goodnight guys” Sid said.

“Goodnight” We replied.

“When are you going to talk to April?” Liam asked when we were alone.

“I guess in the morning. She has to know sooner rather then later” I said.

“Yeah” He yawned.

“Get some rest babe” I said.

“Yeah I’m pretty tired now” he said.

I kissed him. “I love you. Goodnight” I said.

“Night. Love you too” he replied.

Liam woke up before me the next morning.

“Morning babe. How’d you sleep?” I asked.

“Like a baby” he said. “Did you sleep okay?”

“Yeah pretty well” I replied. “You look much better today”

“I feel much better”

“I’m so glad” I said.

“Good morning guys” Sid said.

“Morning” We said.

“I’m just going to get your paperwork Liam then you can get out of here” he informed us.

“Excellent” Liam said.

“Babe I don’t want you to be alone tonight. Come stay with me” I said.

“Okay” he agreed.

“I’ll go call Irene so she can come get us” I said.

“Baby wait” he said pulling me back so he can kiss me.

“Nice” I replied.

I went outside to call Irene who agreed to come and get us.

Liam signed his paperwork so we walked outside to wait for Irene who arrived a few minutes later and we got in the car and drove home.

“Welcome home” April said as soon as we entered the house and gave him a hug.

“Thanks” Liam replied.

“Maybe you should sit down for awhile” I suggested.

“Yeah” Liam said.

He sat down and I turned on the tv for him.

“So how do you think he is?” Irene asked me as I walked back into the kitchen.

“I’m not sure. I think he is okay but it’s hard to tell” I said.

“Its just a bit overwhelming thats all” Liam said coming up behind us.

“Yeah of course it is Darl. I didn’t mean to talk behind your back” Irene said.

“No I know your just concerned so thanks” Liam said.

“Anyway, did you want a drink or something?” Irene asked.

“Water would be good” He said.

“Here you go” Irene said handing him a glass.

“Thanks” he replied and walked back to the tv.

I glanced at Irene worriedly. And I walked over to where he was sitting.

“Babe, you mad?” I asked.

“Why would I be mad?” he said.

“Cos we were talking about you behind your back” I answered nervously.

“I’m not mad baby” he said.

“Okay” I said. “Liam”

“Yeah?”

“I love you” I said.

He looked at me. “I know. I love you too” he said.

I smiled. “Do you want something to eat?” I asked.

“Not yet” he said.

“Okay, well maybe we can go to the diner later”

“Sounds good” he replied.

“Everything alright?” Irene asked quietly.

“Yeah its all good” I said.

“Hey” Charlie said appearing at the door.

“Hey Charlie” Irene and I said.

Charlie noticed that Liam was here. “He okay?” she asked.

“Yeah” I replied even though I wasn’t completely convinced.

Charlie walked into the tv room. “Hey welcome back Liam” she said.

“Thanks Charlie” he replied.

“Hey Bianca” Leah said as she entered the kitchen.

“Hey” I replied.

“Hey Charlie” Leah said.

“Hi Leah” She said.

“Hey Liam glad your back” Leah said.

“Yeah thanks” Liam replied.

“So how are you feeling?” Leah asked.

“I’m fine” he said.

“Hey welcome back to the land of living mate” Miles said.

“Yeah you gave us all a scare” Angelo said.

“Yeah look I’m just going to go lie down for a bit” Liam responded.

He slowly walked towards the stairs.

“Babe, are you sure you can walk up there? Maybe Miles & Angelo could help” I suggested.

“No I don’t need any help” he replied shortly.

So I let him walk upstairs by himself, he made it fine just a bit slower then usual.

We all sat down on the couches.

I sighed.

“Bianca are you alright?” Miles asked.

I shook my head. “No” I whispered. Trying not to let the tears flow.

Charlie got up and hugged me. “He’ll be alright soon” she said confidently.

“It’s not just that” I said.

“Has something happened?” Miles asked.

“Yeah but I haven’t told April yet but I think I need to talk to someone before I tell her even though Liam and his family know and Linda was so nice about everything and” I paused because I knew I wasn’t making sense.

“Why don’t you just start at the beginning” Leah suggested.

“Because its a good place to start?” I joked.

Everyone laughed. “I like that, even when your down you can crack a joke” Miles said.

“Yeah” I said. “So anyway it was just after Liam had woken up and my phone started to ring and it was a private number so I answered it. It was my mother and she was calling to tell me, to tell me that she is pregnant and Vittorio is the father”

“Wow” Charlie said.

“Yeah thats pretty disgusting” Leah said.

“Yeah” I agreed.

“Are they getting married?” Angelo asked.

“Angelo” Charlie scolded.

“Sorry” he said.

“Its okay” I said. “And yeah they are. She couldn’t have called at a worse time when I could’ve lost everything”

“Yeah but she didn’t know that did she?” Miles said.

“Well no but she wouldn’t have cared anyway if she did know. She doesn’t care about anything that I do, she doesn’t care that I’m happy” I said. “I just don’t know how to tell April. I suppose just straight up Hey April Mum’s pregnant”

“What?”

I glanced up.

“What do you mean Mum is pregnant? Is that a joke?” April asked.

“April, I wanted to tell you in private” I said guiltily.

“Then perhaps you shouldn’t have talked about it to your friends in a public area of our home” April responded angrily and went into her room and slammed the door.

“Great” I sighed. I knocked on the door. “Come on April, I don’t need this right now” I waited for a few minutes.

“Maybe we should leave” I heard Leah say to the others.

“No don’t leave” I begged.

“Okay” Leah agreed.

I knocked on the door again.”April please can we just talk, please” I pleaded.

On my lunch break at placement & decided to read this chapter.

The door opened slightly.

“Okay” she agreed.

I went into her room and closed the door behind me.

“I didn’t mean for you to find out like that” I started.

She shrugged.

“Okay, well Mum called me when I was at the hospital yesterday and she said that she is pregnant and that Vitorrio is the father and that they are getting married”

“Ew gross” April said.

“I know” I said. “And then she had the nerve to remind me that it is my, our, brother or sister”

“Yeah wow” she said. “How do you feel about it?”

“I hate it. But I can’t do anything about it”

“Yeah. Hey where’s Liam?”

“Upstairs on my bed” I replied.

“Is he okay?”

“Just a bit tired I guess” I said.

“So its been a rough few days” She stated.

“Yeah” I agreed. “I certainly don’t want to go through it again”

“I can imagine” April said. “I don’t want you to go through it either”

“So are we good?” I asked.

“Yeah we’re good” she said.

“Good” I said and gave her a hug.

“I’m going to go to Xavier’s, is that cool?” she said.

“Yeah go ahead” I said.

“Thanks. Your the best sister ever” she said.

I laughed. “So are you”

“Yeah I know” she grinned.

We walked out of her room.

“Guys I didn’t mean to be angry before anyway I’ll see you all later” she said.

She got everyone’s versions of goodbye.

“She seemed okay” Miles remarked.

“Yeah she’s alright” I replied looking at the roof and wondering whether Liam was asleep or not.

Charlie must have noticed. “Go on. Go check on him” she said.

I smiled. “Am I that transparent?” I asked.

“Yes” Charlie said. “To me at least”

“Okay, I’ll be back soon” I said.

I headed upstairs and into my bedroom. I found Liam on my bed just lying there with his eyes open.

“Hey baby” he said.

“Hi toothpick. How are you doing?”

“I’m okay. I’m sorry I was a bit short before” he said.

“It’s okay” I replied.

“No you don’t deserve that. I felt bad”

“Well don’t worry about it” I said. “Do you want to come join everyone downstairs?”

“Yeah okay” he agreed. “I should apologise to them too. I was a bit rude”

“Well” I started.

“Your not supposed to agree with me” He laughed.

“I didn’t even say anything” I said.

“Yeah but I know you were going to agree with me” he said.

I laughed. “Yeah I was going to agree with you” I said.

He got off the bed and walked over to me and gave me a kiss.

“Let’s go” he said. He started to walk downstairs so I followed behind him.

“Um you guys I’m sorry that I was rude earlier” he apologised.

“It’s okay mate, we know you’ve had a tough few days” Miles said.

Liam sat down in the chair and pulled me onto his lap.

“I couldn’t have got through it without this one” he said rubbing my arms up and down.

“I’m sure you could have” I said.

“Probably eventually but you make everything easier” he said.

This time I gave him a kiss.

“So, Christmas is in a few days, what’s everyone doing?” Leah asked changing the subject.

“Well my parents plus my brother and sister are coming over. We usually have a big lunch” Liam said. “Your invited baby”

For some reason I was surprised. “I am? I thought it was just family”

“You are family” Liam said.

I smiled. “Well I’ll have to talk to April. We usually have a lunch but maybe we can have a dinner instead”

“Yeah she’s invited too” he said.

“We should all have a bbq or something” Miles suggested.

“Yeah that sounds good” Angelo replied.

“We should invite everyone, even the kids” Leah said.

“It sounds fantastic” I said.

“It’s just a bbq” Angelo said.

“Yeah but a bbq with friends and family. I’ve never been to one before” I said.

“Never?” Leah asked surprised.

“Yeah like I said before i’ve never really had friends or someone that loves me”

“Well you do now” Leah said.

“I know” I grinned.

The next day I arrived at Miles with April for the bbq.

“Hey guys” I said entering the house.

“Hey” said Miles, Charlie, Leah and Alf.

“Where’s Liam?” Charlie asked.

“Giving a lesson. He’ll be done soon though” I explained.

“Hey April” Xavier, Romeo and Indi said.

“Hey you guys” April replied. “I’m going outside with them”

“Okay” I replied.

“So we got the drinks” Marilyn said coming through the door.

“And the ice” Roo said. “Hey I’m Roo Stewart you must be Bianca Scott”

“Yeah that’s me. Nice to meet you”

“Roo is short for Ruth, just so you know” she said.

“Yeah its nothing to do with Kangaroos” Alf joked.

“Oh dad” Roo exclaimed.

“That’s funny Mr Stewart” Marilyn said.

“It is rather humourous” I agreed.

“Hi everyone” Sid greeted us and giving Marilyn a kiss.

“Well I’ll go start the bbq” Roo said.

“I’ll help” I offered.

We walked outside to the bbq area.

“So your dating Liam?” Roo asked me.

“Yeah I am” I replied. “Have you met him?”

“Yeah, I met him when I first arrived a few months ago. I’ve only just come back again and I guess that must be when you arrived cos I know you weren’t here before”

“Yeah I’ve been here about 8 months” I said.

“And how long have you been with Liam?”

“About 4” I answered.

“Aww. Your in love with him aren’t you?” She guessed.

“Yeah I love him very much. He’s like my prince charming” I said.

“Well I think thats great. He is a really nice guy” She said.

“Who is a really nice guy? Hi Roo welcome back” Liam said.

“You are a really nice guy. It’s nice to see you again” she said hugging him.

“Nice to see you too Roo” He replied.

“Oh and its not nice to see me?” I joked.

“Its always nice to see you baby” he said kissing me.

“Aw thats sweet” Roo said. “Bianca was just telling me how much she loves you”

“Oh were you now? And how much do you love me?” Liam said.

“This much” I laughed putting my hands out as far as they could go and then wrapping them around him.

“Oh okay, I don’t know whether this is cute or whether its not” Roo said.

“I think the word your looking for is not” Alf said.

Roo laughed. “Your such a sourpuss today Dad” she said.

“When I first saw her on the beach in that red dress I thought what a hottie and I had to have her” Liam said to Roo.

“Well you have me now” I replied.

“I know” he replied kissing me.

“Oh god are you two kissing again? Don’t you ever give up” Miles complained.

“Nope” Liam said.

“Why would we want to?” I asked.

“Because sometimes some people might not want to see it” April said.

“Aw I thought you wanted your big sis to be happy” I said.

“Of course I do” she said.

“Hey I’m Roo by the way” Roo said.

“I’m April” she said.

“April’s my baby sister” I said.

“Ruth is my daughter” Alf explained.

“It’s nice to me you April” Roo said.

“Ditto” April said. “How long till the food is ready Mr Copeland?”

“Soon” Miles replied.

“Okay, i’ll tell the others” She said and ran off to her friends.

“She seems really nice” Roo said.

“Yeah she is. Most of the time” I replied.

“So what’s going on out here?” Charlie asked.

“Just preparing the food” Miles said.

“Well we don’t want it to turn out like last time” Charlie laughed.

“Oh yeah” Liam said. “That was bad”

“Why, what happened last time?” I asked.

Liam laughed. “Miles burnt it. So we had to go order pizza instead”

I grinned. “Well maybe you should go check on it then” I said.

“Hey I’ve learnt from last time” Miles complained.

“Sure mate sure but I’ll just have a little look” Liam said.

“Oh I think your getting bumped from the cooking mate” Alf said.

“Yeah Bianca you should tell your boyfriend that I wanted to cook” Miles said.

I laughed. “Oh no. I don’t want burnt food Miles” I said.

“Alright then let’s go inside Alf” Miles said defeated.

After Alf & Miles went inside it was just me sitting with Roo and Charlie and of course Liam at the bbq.

“Oh good, at least our food won’t be burnt now” Leah exclaimed coming outside after seeing that Liam was cooking.

“I heard that” Miles yelled from inside.

“You were supposed too” she yelled back.

I laughed. “Must have been pretty bad”

“Oh yeah it was the worst ever” Liam said.

I got up and put my arms around him. “Need any help babe?” I asked.

“No thanks baby” he replied. “You’d better sit back down I don’t want any distractions here”

I smiled. “Alright” I kissed him and sat back down next to Roo.

“So how’s the food coming Mr Rockstar?” Miles asked 5 minutes later.

“Mr Rockstar? I like that name can I use that?” I said.

“Be my guest” Miles said.

“I kinda already am your guest” I said.

“Oh haha” Miles laughed.

“Speaking of Rockstar. I got a call earlier. The song will debut on the radio tomorrow”

“What?” I squealed.

“Yeah. In the morning. 9am” he said.

“Oh my god. That is so fantastic” I exclaimed.

Liam grinned. “I knew you’d be excited’

“So now we all can hear it. I can’t wait to hear it” Leah said.

“Yeah that’s really exciting. What’s the song about?” Roo asked.

Leah laughed. “Your really asking that question?” she said.

“Oh its a love dovey song” Roo guessed.

“With a rock sound to it. Of course its about my girl. Like what else would it be about but my favrouite subject” Liam said.

“So when’s your first gig?” Charlie asked.

“After Christmas I think. I’m not sure where but I think at a radio station in the city” he said.

“So can we come?” Miles asked.

“Yeah of course” Liam answered. “So the food is ready” he announced.

As everyone got their food Liam joined me.

“Was that too much? I probably should have told you privately” he said.

“No babe. I’m so proud of you” I said.

“Thanks baby. But if it ever gets too much you just let me know. Cos your the most important person in my life Bianca” he said.

“I love you so much” I said giving him a kiss.

“Mmmm I love you so much too baby” he said.

“Oh you guys must you do that while we are eating?” Alf complained.

“Sorry Alf” I laughed.

“I think you might have to get used to it Dad” Roo said.

“Great” Alf said.

Liam kissed me again.

“Okay rockstar we need to stop” I said in between kisses.

Liam sighed. “Okay but we are going to continue this later”

“Yup” I replied.

Roo leaned over to me. “I need to talk to you later” she said.

“Okay” I asked. “Everything alright?”

“Yeah I just need some advice thats all” she said.

“Okay we can go for a walk when we’ve finished eating if you want” I said wondering what she wanted to talk to me about.

“Yeah great” she said.

“Here you go baby” Liam said handing me a plate of food.

“So is it better then last time?” I asked Leah.

“Yeah its so good” she said.

“Yeah your a great cook Liam” Charlie added.

“Thanks” he said.

We were all just sitting around talking and eating for a couple of hours when I noticed that Roo had finished eating.

“Hey Roo, did you want to go for that walk now?” I asked her.

“Yeah lets” she said,

I walked over to where Liam was sitting inside with the guys.

“I’m going for a walk with Roo, I’ll be back later” I said to him.

“Okay baby” he said.

I kissed him and walked outside to where Roo was waiting. We walked a few minutes in silence.

“So, what’s up?” I asked.

“Okay well I think I’m falling for Miles” she announced.

“Really? Wow thats great” I exclaimed.

“Yeah? I think he may like me too but I’m worried about Dad. Dad & Miles are close, almost like father & son and I’m his daughter obviously”

“I guess you should talk to Alf. I’m sure he would be fine with it. He is a really caring person, he wouldn’t act like how my mother acted” I said.

“Yeah, I’m sorry I don’t know why I’m spilling this out to you” she said.

“Maybe cos its easier to talk to a stranger?”

“Yeah I guess it is. I did feel like we clicked tonight though”

“I felt that too. I think you and I are going to be great friends”

“Oh good. Me too” she said.

“And you know, Miles is a great guy”

“Oh I know” she said.

“Has something actually happened between you two?” I asked.

“Well it almost has a couple of times but we keep getting interrupted by Dad or Nic when we go to kiss” she said.

“Well if you want we can go on a double date one day” I offered.

“Yeah that sounds like fun” she agreed.

“Good” I said. “Did you want to turn back now?”

“Yeah let’s go, its a bit creepy out at night with no one around”

“Yeah” I said.

“So you must be happy about Liam” Roo said as we started walking back.

“I am so happy. He has got such a amazing voice, I can’t wait to hear it on the radio”

“Yeah that would be good” Roo said.

We walked back into the house.

“Everyone’s left” I commented.

“Yeah. I might head off to bed. Night all” Alf said.

I could see Miles washing up and I winked at Roo.

“Come on Mr Rockstar. Let’s go” I said.

Roo smiled. “See you later” she said.

“Yeah bye” I said. “Bye Miles”

“Bye guys” Miles said.

We started walking back to Liam’s place.

“So what did Roo want?” he asked.

“Well..... she likes Miles” I said.

“Yeah? They could make a really great couple” Liam said.

“Yeah I think so” I said. “So, are we going to listen to the song at your place?”

“Yeah but you know what baby?”

“No, what?” I asked.

“What if it wasn’t just my place” he said.

I looked at him and smiled. “Are you asking me to move in?” I asked hopefully.

“Yeah, you and April. There’s heaps of room. But if you don’t want to thats okay” he said.

“Oh I want too. I really want to” I said.

He smiled. “There’s a but coming though isn’t there?” he said.

“I need to talk to April before anything like that happens. But you know if I didn’t have April I would move in with you right now” I said.

“I know, it’s okay. I can wait till you talk to April” he said. “It’s a big decision and she may not like the idea but I really hope she does”

“I hope she likes it, she likes you so I don’t see why not” I said. “And then I’ll have to tell Irene as well”

“You should tell April that I won’t be like a father, I’ll be more like a friend that she can come to talk to or even a big brother” he said.

“I’m so glad that you want to be that person to her Liam” I said.

“Well I like April. She’s a great kid. And I know that’s mostly thanks to you” he said.

“Yeah” I said.

We arrived back at Liam’s and sat on the couch.

“What are you looking around at?” Liam asked.

“Nothing” I said. “I can imagine me living here. I don’t mind that its not really girly”

“We can make it a bit more girly if you want” Liam said.

I smiled. “Yeah maybe some curtains or a rug or....”

Liam laughed. “Okay decorator. So you seemed really happy tonight. I guess you had a good time?”

“I had a great time” I said.

“Good. See I knew I could get you to be okay again” he said.

“Yeah yeah Mr Rockstar” I said.

Liam smiled. “You really do like that name alot” he said.

“Yeah. You don’t mind it do you?” I asked.

“No I think its sexy” he said.

“Okay then Mr Rockstar. Let’s go to bed” I said.
