I do think it's realistic that Ruby wouldn't have that sort of relationship with Charlie yet though. She might have found out that she's her mother but that doesn't mean that maternal relationship will instantly be there, it could take years to develop especially after Ruby's feelings of betrayal....Plus in all honesty I don't think I'd be asking Charlie for relationship advice if I was Ruby either They haven't spent much time showing Charlie's maternal side at all and it does make her come across as a Mum who doesn't really care that much. She's so wrapped up in Angelo that she doesn't notice half of what's going on in her daughter's life.

I might start watching Emmerdale once Pauline Quirke joins the cast, I adore her! She's a brilliant actress, I used to love Birds of a Feather

I think she's a fantastic character, the way she's not portrayed as a 'perfect' mother like some of the other older women in the show's history have yet she's got a really warm and genuine side to her. I love that she's having a significant amount of screentime given to her and isn't just there to counsel her children and like Jamey-Maria said, even when she does things I really don't agree with I still can't deny that she is a brilliant character and I love that she's multi-layered. Her acting in Friday's episode was phenomenal! I hope she continues to stay in the forefront of the storylines despite the fact that I really don't like her with John, I think she deserves better. That's what makes exciting tv though!
