Will Charlotte’s cover story work? Everyone starts to worry about Olivia’s scars. Nate struggles to forgive his father.

Extended Summary

Kat interrogates Charlotte about visiting Gunno, but her cover story is strong – Charlotte used to date Gunno and he wanted to apologise for the past. Kat still thinks it’s connected to Trystan’s murder, but Charlotte keeps her cool. Kat reluctantly lets her go. As Charlotte leaves, Kat gets a disturbing call from the hospital.

Nate frantically tries to revive his father, but he’s not responding. Desperate, Nate administers a final defibrillation treatment, and Gavin is jolted back to life. Nate’s relieved as Kat arrives with the accident report. Kat describes what happened, and Nate’s stunned as he realises his father deliberately drove into the tree.

The next morning, Olivia’s excited as she gets ready to catch up with Hunter. Irene suspects there’s something going on between them, but Olivia says they’re just friends. At the beach pool, Olivia hesitates to get out of the water in front of Hunter, and tells him not to look as she goes to her towel. Cheeky Hunter takes a peek, and is shocked to see the scars on Olivia’s thighs. But Olivia doesn’t know he’s seen anything as they walk off together.

Irene checks if Leah’s organised her hen’s night yet, and Phoebe jokingly offers Ash up as a stripper as Kyle crosses with Kat. Kat tells him that Charlotte visited Gunno in prison, taking Kyle by complete surprise, and he leaves to process the news. Ricky enters, and Kat prepares to fill her in about Nate’s father.

Ricky finds Nate on the beach and checks that he’s okay. Nate explains that Gavin’s surgery went well, but he’s not going to get back involved in his life – it ‘d be asking for trouble. Ricky can’t believe that’s Nate’s attitude.

Kat goes to prison to see Gunno. She clearly means business, and Gunno is intrigued. Meanwhile, Kat grills Gunno, but hits a wall when she realises he’s matched covers stories with Charlotte. As she wraps it up, Gunno casually tries to find out if Kat knows that Brax is alive, planting a seed of doubt in Kat’s mind.

VJ agrees to help Zac clean the caravan park as Hunter comes home. Hunter tells VJ about Olivia’s scars, but doesn’t think it’s his place to say something, and makes VJ promise to keep quiet as well.

Kyle confronts Charlotte, who sticks to her cover story. Kyle points out that Gunno’s the reason Brax is dead. He asks her why she lied about the job interview, and she shuts him down, telling him their relationship is over. Charlotte stalks off, and even though she says she’s telling the truth about her and Gunno, Kyle still has a bad feeling about it.

VJ can’t stop himself when he sees Olivia, mentioning that Hunter saw her scars, and offers to be there for her if she needs to talk. Embarrassed and angry, Olivia storms off.

Nate tries to block out his father’s accident, but Ricky can’t accept it – it just feels cold. Ricky encourages Nate to be there for him, and he wonders if he’s rejected his father too soon.

Kat finds Ash with Phoebe, and asks for a moment alone. When Phoebe leaves, Kat tells Ash she wants to speak about the day Brax died. Ash tries not to react, but doesn’t like the sound of it at all.

At hospital, Nate sits at his father’s bedside. But has he made the right choice?

Ash sticks to his story about the last time he saw Brax alive, and wonders why it’s coming up again. Kat reveals that she spoke to Gunno about Trystan, and mentions Charlotte’s prison visit. Kat leaves and Ash calls Charlotte, determined to get answers. They meet, and Charlotte realises that Ash knows Brax is alive. She tells him that Gunno has been using her to find Brax, but since she didn’t know until know, hasn’t told him anything. Ash is worried for Ricky’s safety, and they make a deal – Charlotte tells no-one that Brax is alive, and Ash sticks to Charlotte’s cover story about Gunno being her ex. Ash doesn’t like the arrangement one bit, but knows he has to live with it.

Hunter’s upset when VJ tells him about Olivia’s reaction, but VJ thinks they’ve got something to worry about. Zac comes in, and Hunter decides to fill him in about what’s going on.

Ash texts Brax a heads up that Gunno knows he’s alive, and keeps the news about Gunno and Charlotte to himself. But when Kyle arrives and tells Ricky and Phoebe about Charlotte’s prison visit, Ash is forced to hose down their concerns against his better judgement. Kyle’s doubts still niggle.

Zac goes to the diner to see Irene about Olivia. Irene heads straight home and asks Olivia about her scars. Olivia thinks it’s none of her business, but Irene just concerned. Olivia refuses to tell her anything and runs down to the beach, struggling to keep it together. She collapses onto the ground and cries.
