Extended Summary

Jill makes herself at home as she and Romeo catch up on where she’s been. But Romeo is still bitter about never hearing from her. Jill confesses to Romeo that she did get his last letter, she was going to write back, but she could never figure out what to say. Romeo is especially hurt when he learns she’s been in the Bay two days trying to figure out what to say – and he snaps – has she been drunk the whole time? He guesses she hasn’t gotten any more responsible. Jill leaves, going straight to the Surf Club for a drink.

When Jill ends up hammered at the bar, Alf and Marilyn have to bring her home, much to Romeo’s embarrassment. He stays up with her all night, taking care of her, and offloads to both Alf and Marilyn as they come to check on him during the night, The next day, Jill confesses that she received a insurance payout from her husband’s death, and she’s completely loaded. Romeo is stunned.

Martha and Hugo are enjoying their time together – but Hugo is very aware it can’t last like this; he has to go at some point. She doesn’t want to think about that, she just wants to be with him. He wants to talk, and she submits that they will. Later. They spend the night together, their first night together since he left. Martha tells Hugo she thinks they could hide out forever, that they could hide Hugo from the Police – they could find a way to make it work.

Elijah is questioning Leah heavily about every subject under the sun and she wants to know why. He tells her he’s just curious, but she suspects there’s more going on. Leah can’t get it out of her head, so she asks him, and he surprises her by proposing.

Leah is stunned, and after they’ve talked some more she states that whilst she’s flattered and she does love him, she isn’t ready to take that step just yet. Elijah is understanding and suggests that they just forget he said anything, but they both know it will be hard to do that.
