Dire Straits Ahead for Seven Show

Home and Away is said to be in dire straits this evening. This comes after the Seven Network published an annual budget report for the show and it was seen to overspent by $1,400,000.

Our man inside the Seven walls says that it down to the nature of new script producer, Dan Bennett. A perfectionist, it has been taking a larger number of takes to get things right. Effectively he's spending money for nothing. "That ain't working, that's the way you do it (complete with demonstration)." is said to be a regular occurence on the Home and Away set.

Dan Bennett has recently been sacked and replaced with lady writer, Coral Drouyn.

If spending isn't curbed, cuts and job losses may ocurred. Speaking to set builders, they stood and pointed out that the show couldn't go on without them.

"We've got to move these refrigarators, we've got to move these colour TV's."

A spokesman for Seven said "At times like these people have got to pull together, we've got to be Brothers in Arms." A dejected Jason Smith and Isabel Lucas, until recently Home and Away's Romeo and Juliet couple, stood beside him.

Members of a Home and Away web community have began to raise money for the show and if these fans manage to save the show they must be held as local Heroes.

Private Investigations are taking place to ensure there was nothing underhand going on at Epping.

Well, I have to admit you had me going for a minute until I realised it's far too early (or late depends on which way you look at it) for April's Fool.
