Andy Posted June 29, 2005 Report Share Posted June 29, 2005 Summer Bay watch: from a tortured Angel to ghosts in the fridge Daily Telegraph 29 June 2005 1988: Fisher's son Alan (who has an aneurism) comes to town, pashes Bobby (who later turns out to be his sister) and eventually collapses on the beach and dies. 1988: Sally (Kate Ritchie, pictured) reveals she has two imaginary friends: Milko and Mr Haggas, who lives in Neville's bagpipes. But Sally gets into some strife when she opens up the instrument to let him out. 1989: Bobby discovers that her parents are her two arch rivals, Fisher and Morag. 1990: Tom has a heart attack while driving home from a footy match and dies in hospital. 1992: Blake falls in love with Summer Bay newcomer Meg, who tragically suffers from leukemia. She eventually dies in Blake's arms, watching the sunrise. 1993: Bobby is killed in a boating accident. 1995: Angel is disabled after Alf hits her with his car but later rises out of her wheelchair (pictured left) to walk down the aisle and marry Shane. 1995: Ailsa has a breakdown but is in denial about her difficulties until she sees the ghost of Bobby appear in the diner fridge (pictured right). 1996: Shane is knocked off his motorcycle and has his spleen removed. A couple of months later, he develops blood poisoning and dies on his and Angel's first anniversary. 1996: A severe storm hits Summer Bay and Michael is swept away in the resulting flood while saving Sam. The same night, Angel gives birth to daughter Shane. 1996: Chole is raped on the beach. The attacker turns out to be her creepy new psychiatrist Brad, played by former EStreet star Bruce Samazan. 1998: Pippa leaves Summer Bay for a world trip and new life with Ian, leaving Travis and Rebecca looking after the foster family. 2000: Pippa returns to oversee the handing over of the caravan park to the Sutherland family and a moving montage of moments over the years ends with the arrival of the new kids. 2001: Begins with Ailsa's funeral after she collapsed after a heart attack (above) in the 2000 season finale. 2002: Old and new Bay residents hop on a ferry for the area's 150-year celebrations. The ferry later sinks, leaving those on board floating on a raft, stranded on an island (like Irene and Dan, pictured) or lost in bushland. 2002: Alf has a brain tumour and starts seeing the ghost of Ailsa. He doesn't want to be operated on because it will mean Ailsa will disappear from his life forever. 2003: Sally is given away by Alf at her wedding to Flynn. 2004: Still newly married to Hayley, Noah is killed during a hostage situation. 2005: Irene receives the first clue provided by the stalker, a letter declaring "Summer Bay will pay". But Angel later rises out of her wheelchair to walk down the aisle and marry Shane. 1996: Shane dies on his and Angel's first anniversary. 2001: Begins with Ailsa's funeral after she collapsed of a heart attack. 2002: Alf has a brain tumour and starts seeing the ghost of Ailsa. 2003: Sally marries Flynn. 2004: Kirsty and Jade discover that they were swapped at birth and are not twins after all. 2004: Noah is taken hostage and killed. 2005: Hayley almost dies in a fire, and a dead body is found in the bush.
