Beau's bad luck doesn't seem to stop

Daily Telegraph

15 June 2005

FORMER Home and Away star Beau Brady (pictured) has had a run of bad luck recently -- first being dumped by fiance Bec Cartwright and now a court matter for allegedly running a stop sign.

Brady (pictured), who split with Cartwright (who soon afterwards hooked up with Lleyton Hewitt) last December, has not acted since leaving the show last year.

He was expected to appear in Waverley Local Court at 9.30am yesterday but didn't show.

Sources say he was due to contest a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign in Bondi.

Perhaps he decided to bite the bullet and pay the fine after all.

Soap actors court out

Daily Telegraph

23 June 2005

WAVERLEY court may of late have been nicknamed Soapie Central, had actors Beau Brady and Brian Vriends actually been in attendance for their scheduled appearances.

Brady, due to appear last week to challenge a $70 ticket for parking in a no stopping zone, missed his hearing by more than an hour.

A lucky mix-up with a desk clerk when the former Home and Away actor finally arrived meant he has another opportunity for a hearing.

Vriends, a former All Saints actor, was due to appear on Tuesday morning to answer a low-range drink-driving charge after being booked in Oxford St, Woollahra on the night of May 27.

Confidential understands Vriends was given another chance to appear by the court, but a warrant will be issued should he fail to appear a second time.

Both cases were adjourned.
