Pregnant Bec Cartwright and fiance Lleyton Hewitt say their nuptials will have to wait

THE wedding between Bec Cartwright and Lleyton Hewitt has been put on hold because of the impending birth of their first child.

"Wedding plans? We don't have any now!" is what Cartwright had to say in New Idea.

The magazine paid a small fortune for the exclusive interview and story, but was gazumped by everybody with news about the baby on Friday, so it took the shine off the exclusive.

There would have been a few gloomy faces in the New Idea offices when the story broke.

Cartwright and Hewitt have been very public and made lots of money through selling stories at the drop of a hat.

It will be fascinating if they continue doing this in the next couple of years.

It's safe to say, Bec and Lleyton are Australia's version of Britain's Posh and Becks.

Cartwright basically says she will leave Home and Away at the end of the year to look after the child, and follow Lleyton on the world tennis circuit.

The pregnancy has also put on hold the couple's plans to visit the site of their orphanage for HIV-AIDS-affected children in Cambodia.
