Edinburgh location for 'The Da Vinci Code' Tuesday, July 26 2005, 15:34 BST -- by Kris Green Rosslyn Chapel near Edinburgh is the latest location for the filming of The Da Vinci Code. The 15th Century Scottish chapel witnessed a dramatic increase in visitors after Dan Brown – author of the 17-million copy seller – suggested that it housed the secret of the Holy Grail. Trustees spokesman Stuart Beattie told BBC 1 "The chapel has long been a popular destination for hundreds of years. "There are many stories in Rosslyn's long history and I'm sure the chapel will make a superb backdrop for this particular one." Location fees could earn the site around £100,000. Lincoln Cathedral has also been confirmed as a filming location. Producers decided to use the Cathedral as a Westminster Abbey lookalike when they were refused permission to film in the London masterpiece.
