Has Evelyn’s family lost her for good? Will Roo forgive James despite his lies?

Extended Summary

Hannah pops by Leah’s house, and is stunned to learn that Evelyn and Tank are still seeing each other. Up in Evie’s room, she and Tank realise they’ve slept in, but as they try and find a way to get him out unseen, Hannah comes upstairs, forcing Tank to hide under the bed.

Evelyn explains herself to Hannah, who tries to get her to see the other side, but Evelyn’s won’t listen, telling Hannah he’s amazing, and she’s never felt this way before. She makes an excuse and rushes Hannah out, and when Tank gets out from under the bed, he’s happy to have heard what Evelyn said about him.

Tank jumps down from the roof and sprints off, thinking he’s escaped unnoticed, but VJ has seen everything. Downstairs, VJ overhears Leah and Hannah talking about Evelyn, and is about to reveal what he saw, but at that point Oscar and Evelyn enter and say goodbye to Hannah.

Leah asks if Evelyn’s okay, but when she lies that she’s not missing Tank, VJ calls her on it and reveals to everyone that he saw Tank leave this morning. Evelyn explodes and storms off, leaving Oscar and Leah speechless.

Evelyn overhears VJ telling Oscar that he thinks Tank is a tool, and she tells them to mind their own business. She gets hysterical, calling VJ’s family idiots, and telling him to stay out of her life. Later, Oscar finds Tank and tells him to stay away from his sister, but Tank once again makes threats that he’ll do serious damage to anyone who gets in the way of him and Evelyn. As John heads towards them to break up the confrontation, Tank threatens to hurt the people closest to Oscar if he doesn’t listen to him.

Oscar tells Evelyn what happened, but she doesn’t believe it. Oscar tells her she’s acting like when she was programmed in the cult, but Evelyn won’t listen and kicks a shattered Oscar out. An upset Oscar consoles in Leah – he can’t understand why even he can’t get through to her! But Leah tells him it isn’t to do with him – Evie really thinks she sees something in Tank that nobody else does. Later, Hannah, Leah and John are all at a loss about how they can help her.

Evelyn calls Tank on the home phone. He promises to stop everyone from keeping them apart, and tells her he has a plan that would mean Evelyn not seeing her family for a while. She tells him she’s cool with that, and she loves him. Tank’s got total control over her now, as Evelyn’s nervously excited to follow her heart…

Roo is still unsure what to do next, after finding out about James’s family. Irene tells her she should kick him out, but Roo is considering forgiving him – she explains she’s never had anything like what she has with James, but Irene reminds her that he isn’t trustworthy. She can’t settle for james because she’s scared she may not find love at her age.

Irene suggests she goes and talks to Alf about it… but it’s too late anyway, Alf gets a phonecall from Morag, who’s discovered James’s secret! He finds Roo, and she admits she’s already found out the truth. She thinks Alf just wants to say ‘I told you’ so, but he just wants to be there for her.

At the diner, Marilyn tries to help Roo see sense. She explains that her  first husband cheated on her, and told the other woman the same thing James told Roo – but Roo wants to figure this out for herself, leaving Marilyn and Irene worried Roo isn’t listening to anything she doesn’t want to hear.

Alf clearly won’t let Roo work things out for herself – he visits James in hospital, and tells him if he ever tries to go near Roo again, Alf will break him in half.

Roo walks along the pier, contemplating her situation – and pulls off her engagement ring. Irene and Marilyn continue to worry about her state of mind, and know they have to do something. Alf arrives, and tells them he told James to stay away, but Irene’s not sure that will be enough.

At the hospital, Roo gives James the ring back. She tells him she can’t be engaged to a married man, but that she isn’t ready to walk away despite everything. With the truth now out, she still wants to see if there’s still something left.
