Everything's working out for Lincoln Lewis

HIS father may be a footy legend, but the only person roping Lincoln Lewis into a laboriously full-on fitness regime is himself. And his full-time personal trainer, of course.

For the former Home And Away actor and son of rugby league great Wally Lewis, yesterday was one of five strenuous, two-hour workout sessions he does each week inside the Entertainment Quarter's Holistic Fitness gym.

"He does more on weekends too," his daily whip cracker Cameron Mercer told Confidential.

"We do about two hours a day, sometimes more, without allowing too much rest in between sessions."

The major muscle training is a voluntary continuation from the fitness course Lewis was put through for $20 million Aussie action movie, Tomorrow When The War Began, which was filmed last year. It is also an attempt, according to Lewis' agent, to buff up for his previously unannounced new film role alongside screen stalwart Guy Pearce in currently-being-shot drama Mei Mei, for which he plays "someone quite lean".

Lewis, who is said to have been "in his element" doing stunts on the set of Tomorrow, was yesterday spied in the middle of an "old school" pulley system work-out, fitted with 20kg plates, which worked his upper body, biceps and legs.

"He's very strong, physically, so does very well with weights, but he knows he needs to work on his cardio," Mercer said.

Surfing and swimming is also incorporated into the regimen, which also extends to a strict low-carb, high protein diet.

Lewis, who was last year embroiled in a sex tape scandal, recently broke up with his girlfriend, one-time So You Think You Can Dance contestant Kat Risteska.
