My very UNOFFICIAL title for this ep, “ Oh, Those Intriguing Place Names ”

Note - This summary is mostly in sequence [i.e. no A & B story split]

VPH : Sally tells ric & Cass that she invites maddie for diner.

Brad & Rachel arrive, after a few days away, and sally notes that brad looks waaay refreshed/upbeat now.

Later, Ric & Cass are a tad concerned that maddie hasn’t arrived at their house for dinner – like sally had offered. Ric also comments that maddie seems as “lost” as she was after Beth died.

Brad tells Rachel that he is waiting for the department’s decision before he reveals his secret plan.

HUNTER HOUSE : Next day, Ric enters, and talk to Tony about maddie. She isn’t at home, and Tony thinks that she might have stayed night at friend’s house.

VPH : Brad tells sally that he believes that he’ll have the department’s decision by end of day, whilst sally comments on how upbeat brad seems to be.

SBH : Cass & Ric approach Emma, who tells them that maddie may have gone with Rueben & mates up the coast – to a place called sandy bay. Although Cass not likes the idea, Ric decided to go after maddie.

SANDY BAY : Maddie is talk to Reuben, near the beach. Maddie almost can’t believe she just walked out of her old life like she did. Maddie is concerned about not having a set path for future, but Rueben insist his life [no plans, no pressure, and move to another place when things get tough] is a great way to be.

SANDY BAY : Maddie is talk to Rueben *& his friend Bondy in their van when she ducks when sees police walk by. Ruben can’t belief that maddie didn’t tell ANYONE that she was bailing – and insists that she does. He & Bondy exit the van.

DINER : Rachel talks to colleen about a secret plan [brad’s I assume] and even when sally enters, colleen doesn’t say I word to her – but she does have an “I’ve got a secret” look on face.

HUNTER HOUSE : Tony enters, and listen to answering machine msg form maddie – telling him that she has gone away with Rueben etc.

SBH : Tony interrupts sally’s class, re maddie. Cass makes then aware of where maddie is, and that Ric has gone after.

SANDY BAY : A blonde female [bit older than maddie - I’m guessing friend of Rueben] tells maddie that the shower here aren't the best – maddie verbally reminds herself to shower in swimsuit next time.

Ric approaches – but maddie inits that she is NOT coming home with him. Rueben approaches and suggest that maddie should be allowed to do what she wants to do. Ric twice resits a prime opportunity to “lay into” Rueben.

SANDY BAY : Maddie & Rueben are talking near in the van. Maddie loves that idea of this trip leading to feeding the dolphins at monkey mia. Rueben kisses maddie – which Ric [afar] sees, but maddie insist to Rueben that she not want that [kiss [. She just wants to be one of the boys ][so to speak].

VPH : Ric & Cass ponder what to do about maddie. Brad thinks that Ric did right thing by walking away.

SANDY BAY : Ric approaches Rueben’s van. He hears sound of 2 ppl “getting intimate” inside – and pulls open the van’s side door. He pulls Rueben out of there – and they have a brief fist fight, which Tony stops.

Tony suggests that maddie should put on some clothes of get out of van, but the girl that emerges is the one that told maddie about the showers earlier.

Maddie returns to the can =- she can’t believe what ric has done, or that Tony is here [“you’re not my father”]. Maddie tells ric & tony that she is here because she wants to be. She also insists that Ric inlet exactly helping his own case with this caveman act – and she “suggest” that Ric & Tony should go home.

DINER : Sally tells Alf that she’s got word form the department. Naomi can continue teaching, whilst brad [for his handling of the situation] won’t be reinstated as principal – but sally can offer him a teaching position at the school. Sally is worried that this will further complicate things.

VPH : Brad tanks Rachel for all her help and insists that everything is all set now. He shows her a small box conating a ring [given seretness – an engagement ring maybe?]

After Rachel bails, brad makes a phone call. He sounds very excited as he talks to whoever about the double surprise he has planned. [end of ep]
