jessica_r Posted April 10, 2005 Report Share Posted April 10, 2005 Bec and Lleyton back family winner Daily Telegraph April 11, 2005 IT was a very timely announcement last week on just how the reported six-figure sum that Bec Cartwright and Lleyton Hewitt raked in from the exclusive magazine and television deal for their engagement story was being spent. After months of media requests for details on how the dough would be used to set up the couple's promised Cambodian orphange, the info was released to media nation-wide. Because it certainly wouldn't have been a good look when just a day or two later the pair paid $4.5 million for a Palm Beach love nest. Nonetheless, the Cambodian orphange is an admirable move ? especially considering the fact that Cartwright has never set foot in the country. The couple were in Adelaide at the weekend, where they went to Morphettville racecourse to watch Hewitt's uncle, trainer Darryl Hewitt, win with his horse Merlot. Instead of surmising narky little reasons why this couple have chosen to build the orphanage perhaps they could actually just report the facts.
