Sexy stars suit up for GQ's Men of the Year Awards

The Daily Telegraph

December 1 2010

IT was all about the black and bow ties - even for some of the ladies - when Sydney suited up for the GQ Man of the Year Awards last night.

Although exhausted, top gong winner Ryan Kwanten sizzled on the Opera House ruby rug in Ralph Lauren, saying he will spend more time in the air than on the ground in coming days.

It was a flying visit for the newly minted Hollywood star, who spent the weekend partying in Chicago and was due to fly back to Los Angeles to go straight back to the set of the cult vampire series that has made him an international star.

Showing off her newly cropped locks, Lara Bingle met the black tie dress code with perfection, rocking up in a Dion Lee jacket and self styled, "thrown together" ensemble.

Underbelly actor Firass Dirani who took out TV Actor of the Year unofficially won most flamboyantly dressed in an eggplant Gucci blazer.

"It's all about the suave tonight - it's GQ," he told The Daily Telegrah.

Packed to the Rafters pair Jessica Marais and James Stewart proved they were a match made in heaven in matching outfits and well on their way to being an old married couple.

"Her mango casserole is to die for," whispered Stewart.

"His spag bol is fantastic," laughed Marais.

TV foodie Curtis Stone was presented his award for Chef of the Year by his teary mother Lorraine Coles, while Josh Thomas won in the comedian category.
