HAVING filmed two Hollywood movies overseas in the past year, former Home And Away star Sharni Vinson returned to Oz yesterday for her first Australian-based feature film role.

The beach babe, whose profile was increased exponentially in the US following her lead part in Step Up: 3D and 2011 release Blue Crush 2, arrived in Brisbane from her LA base to start work on this country's first 3D action flick, Bait.

Confidential can announce the down-to-earth dancer will appear alongside Twilight hunk Xavier Samuel in the estimated $20 million thriller, which is about a tsunami that hits a seaside town, trapping local shoppers and tourists in a flooded underground shopping centre with a pack of hungry sharks.

Written and directed by Russell Mulcahy, Bait will be shot at Warner Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast.

Vinson, 27, left for the US in 2008 following four years on Home And Away.

It looks like things are going great for her. :D I like the fact she came back to Australia to film a movie there as well. :)
