Home and Away veteran Melissa George is to star in a new movie with The Naked Gun's Leslie Nielsen, it has been revealed.

The Music Within is a drama based on the life of Richard Pimentel, a hearing-impaired Vietnam veteran who became an expert on disability management.

The supporting cast includes Happy Days' Marion Ross, and Michael Sheen, who recently played Kenneth Williams in BBC Four drama Fantabulosa.

George, 29, rose to fame as Angel Brooks in the Aussie soap.

She left Summer

Bay in 1996 and went on to appear in a host of other projects, including Dark City, The Limey, Monk, Charmed and Alias.

Last year she featured in blockbuster remake The Amityville Horror, and was recently seen on the big screen in Clive Owen thriller Derailed.

George also has another two other movies in the pipeline.

Turistas is a mystery thriller with ex-Grange Hill star Desmond Askew.

It revolves around a group of young backpackers whose holiday turns into a nightmare when a bus accident leaves them stranded in the Brazilian jungle.

And George can be seen in the forthcoming comedy Three Days in Dublin.
