Background.
Charlie Brock is a Tall British man in his late 20’s he is
well spoken, well dressed and well groomed. He has recently
arrived in the Bay and has been directed to the Caravan Park
by Leah at the Diner.
Having arrived in Summer Bay Charlie Brock headed to the
Caravan Park, on entering he bumps into a half naked Sally
as she tries to collect some clothes from the laundry after
a shower The pair were both clearly embarrassed and he
quickly left, promising to return later
Pippa has also just arrived for a visit.
Int. Caravan park house, Later in the afternoon.
Sally is finishing writing in the log book. Charlie is
standing next to her)
Sally
So who did you say you were again?
Charlie
Charlie Brock, sorry did I not say?
Sally
Not exactly no, your entrance was a bit…
(Tailing off she looks away slightly embarrassed)
Charlie
Sorry bout that, it’s good to make an entrance I guess
Sally
So it seems
Pippa
(Entering from hall way)
Well that’s all my things unpacked, what did you fancy for
dinner?
(Pauses seeing Charlie)
Oh hello, I don’t think we’ve met
Charlie
No
Sally
Sorry, Pippa this is Charlie Brock, he’s staying a while in
one of the vans
Charlie
(Shaking her hand)
Pleased to meet you
Pippa
Your British!
Charlie
Certainly am
(laughs pleasantly)
Pippa
So you over here on holiday?
Charlie
Kind of, more business I think you would say.
Sally
Business ?
Charlie
Yeah, well in a way, I’m over here for my brother I think he
stayed here a few years back
Sally
Your brother? Hmm I don’t remember the name – Brock?
Charlie
Oh no sorry you wouldn’t. He and I, we don’t have the same
name, it’s a long and very complicated story. His name was
Simon Broadhurst.
Pippa
Simon Broadhurst?
(Sally and Pippa now looking at each other in realisation)
Sally
Angel!
Charlie
(Somewhat surprised)
Oh you know her
Sally
Yes she used to live near here, she was married to a friend
of ours, how is she?
Charlie
Ah, well like I said I’m over here on business,
Angel passed away last month
Pippa
Oh my god, how? I mean what happened?
Charlie
(Sheepishly)
Oh she was erm not well…..yes for a while
(Telephone starts to ring, Pippa goes over and answers)
Sally
That’s awful how are the children
Charlie
Holding up, anyway look I’m in a bit of a hurry to get on,
need to tie things up this end, if you could get me that key
(gesturing to the door)
Sally
(Stunned)
Certainly, yes sorry, it’s just such a shock
Charlie
Yes well it happens I guess
(Sally gives him the key, he smiles and leaves hurriedly
Sally looking puzzled as he leaves)
Pippa
(On phone)
Ok thanks Don, thanks for calling, I’ll make sure she calls
you later
(Pippa going to Sally)
Pippa
That was Don Fisher
Sally
Had he heard about Angel?
Pippa
Yes that’s the odd thing, he says she wasn’t ill at all, the
Police are looking into her death, he’s flying out there
tomorrow
Sally
To England?
(Looking out the door)
Then I wonder why he’s here … |
