Past to Present

Leanne Milko
Leanne Milko (mid 50’s) has spent many years being bitter and angry over the turmoil she has endured in her life. She has several skeletons in her closet, including a murderous past and a revelation that will have a life changing affect on one of Summer Bay’s favourites. Her arrival in the Bay will ultimately cause heartache and anguish as a long term character will learn that everything they have believed for their entire life has been a lie. How will everyone cope when Leanne reveals that Sally Fletcher really isn’t Sally Fletcher

INT. SUMMER BAY HOUSE -- MORNING

SALLY, BRAD, LEANNE

Sally is in the kitchen making herself a cup of tea. She is deep in thought.

Brad enters.

BRAD
Hey.

SALLY
(obviously distracted)
Hi.

BRAD
What's wrong?

SALLY
Nothing.

Brad senses otherwise.

BRAD
Where is everyone?

SALLY
Ric's out with Matilda and Mr. Stewart is at the surf club I think.

Brad becomes concerned as he knows Sally has something on her mind.

BRAD
You going to tell me what the matter is or will I have to beat it out of you?

Sally takes a seat at the table and Brad follows.

SALLY
Sorry, I'm just tired. Haven't been getting much sleep lately.

BRAD
Has Pippa been keeping you up?

SALLY
No, nothing like that...I...well...it's kind of embarrassing.

BRAD
Come on Sal, it's me you're talking to.

She hesitates at first.

SALLY
I've been having these weird dreams lately and I can't stop thinking about them.

BRAD
What kind of dreams?

SALLY
I'm a little girl...Two...Three maybe. I'm playing in a park and this woman who I don't recognise is looking after me. She's watching me play, telling me that everything is going to be alright and that I'm her favourite little girl. The next thing I know she's not there.

BRAD
What? She's just vanished?

SALLY
Yeah. Then I'm in the back seat of a car - and I'm screaming. My mum and dad are in the front trying to calm me down but I can't stop.

BRAD
Do you think it may be a childhood memory?

SALLY
Maybe...I don't know. It was so vivid and I was so scared.

BRAD
You're really shaken up by this.

Sally feels very uncomfortable.

SALLY
I better check on Pippa.

She leaves to go upstairs as a knock is heard at the door. A woman in her mid 50's is waiting to be answered.

BRAD
Hello. Can I help you?

LEANNE
Ah, yes...I have a caravan booked under the name of Milko, Leanne Milko.

BRAD
No probs, just give me two secs while I see what van you are staying in.

Brad grabs a book and is flicking through pages when Sally returns. Her eyes immediately make contact with Leanne's. Sally looks stunned.

LEANNE
What's wrong dear. You look like you've seen a ghost.

SALLY
Sorry...I'm just a little...Have we met before?

LEANNE
No...I can't say we have. This is my first time in Summer Bay.

BRAD
Well we hope you enjoy your stay.

Brad hands Leanne a key.

BRAD
You're in caravan 12.

LEANNE
Thank you.

Leanne gives a smile to Sally and exits.

Sally still looks stunned.

BRAD
What was that all about?

Sally is lost for words.

SALLY
Sh...She...was the woman in my dreams.

Brad looks concerned and confused.
