| Will Smith (Zac Drayson) makes his first appearance in Summer Bay,
turning up on Irene's doorstep, saying he's a friend of her son, Damian.
He’s a young lad, obviously off the street, looking for somewhere to stay.
Over the next couple of episodes, we see him try to ingratiate himself into
Irene’s home and one of the first things he does, is set her against Joey.
Also in this year, Sam Marshall (Ryan Clark) is in court,
facing charges for his ram raiding capers. He gets off with a
good behaviour bond, after spending two nights in custody. He's
got a chip on his shoulder and is rude to Fisher but Sally makes
him see the error of his ways and he apologies.
We meet Joel Nash and his family this year and for some reason, Travis is
not happy at their arrival. All we know is, as Travis explains to Rebecca,
Joel and their father had an almighty row which resulted in Joel and Natalie
leaving the Bay sixteen years ago. He’s bitter because they never kept in
touch. The family consists of Joel - David Woodley, Natalie (wife) Angelica
La Bozetta , Tom (son) - Graeme Squires and Gypsy (daughter) - Kimberley
Cooper.
Angelica La Bozetta was the first of two actresses to play the part. The
second actress was Antoinette Byron.
Graeme Squires first appeared in episode 2217 as a surfer, who annoyed
Casey Mitchell. She moved into Fisher’s house and took great delight in
making his life hell.
2000th episode shown in Ireland, UK and Australia
Finlay asks Irene to be surrogate mother for her. Irene is reluctant to
agree, but after much thought, she decides to bear the baby for her. After
she gives birth, the baby disappears, and is not found for a long time.
Stephanie, Casey and Liam go out for a walk along the cliffs. Stephanie
slips off the edge and is hanging on the edge. Liam tries to rescue her, but
her grip loosens. She falls and later dies. |
