Roo and Frank are at the altar on their wedding day. Roo feels she cannot
go ahead because he is not the father of her baby; she leaves Frank at the
altar. Frank later drives away and almost kills himself. Bobby finds him
unconscious.
Frank and Bobby finally get married, but wedded bliss is short-lived.
Frank is still infatuated with Roo, and eventually runs off with her to the
city
Dizzy Marilyn Chambers arrives in town, as does runaway Viv and
rebellious Emma. Emma has her sights set on another new arrival, Adam
Cameron
Viv has to save her younger sister, Tammy, from her seriously deranged
vicar father
Ailsa gets pregnant, and suffers serious post-natal depression, almost
suffocating her baby, Duncan
Bobby gets the shock of her life, when she finds out that her parents are
two of her arch rivals, Morag Bellingham and Donald Fisher
Nutty Danny, whose father was locked up by Morag, begins dating Bobby in
an attempt to get revenge. It becomes apparent he's two sticks short of a
bundle, when he locks Morag up in a cupboard
Carly conquers her drink problem, and becomes infatuated with her new
teacher, Andrew Foley
Ailsa and Bobby set up the Bayside Diner and, much to Bobby's disgust,
Ailsa gives Emma a job
Sophie Simpson arrives in Summer Bay, with her psycho dad, Al. She ends
up being fostered by Tom and Pippa
A shark appears in Summer Bay, and eats beach-bum, Rory. A shark catcher
is called in, and tries to have an affair with Pippa
Grant Mitchell sets hearts fluttering when he starts teaching at Summer
Bay, and helps Sophie to overcome her literacy
Steven falls in love with an older woman, who is a relation of Alf. He
has lied to her about his age
Alan Fisher and Bobby snog each other; this was before they realised they
