Most Popular Character 2006: 21-40

21. Colleen Smart (56 points) ▼3

Played by Lyn Collingwood
Colleen is slightly down, but remains a favourite amongst some fans for constantly sticking her nose in where it is not welcome and coming out with her muddled up words. Her encounters with Morag are legendary.

22. Shannon Reed (85 points) ▲1

Played by Isla Fisher
Shannon is up one place, but halfway through she was about tenth. Whilst there is no disputing that she was indeed SuperShannon, was her new found popularity amongst Home and Away fans due to the fact that she had appeared in 'Wedding Crashers'?

23. Amanda Vale (50 points) ►NEW

Played by Holly Brisley
Amanda is Dan's ex and has come to the bay to become involved in every dodgy plot going and be all round baddie. Amanda's daughter is also in the bay, but doesn't yet know it. I won't tell you who it is so as not to spoil UK viewers.

24. Belle Taylor (47 points) ►NEW

Played by Jessica Tovey
Belle was found in the bush by Ric and he let her hide in his bedroom. When caught upstairs by Flynn she caused him to fall down the stairs, ultimately bringing forward his death. Belle is in the bay because her mother lives here, but I'll keep it a secret so as not to spoil UK viewers...

25. Josie Russell (45 points) ▼4

Played by Laurie Foell
Josie came into the bay with everyone expecting the worst of her and she proved them wrong, becoming really popular. Then Dan Bennett took over and Josie, with everyone expecting the best of her, proved everyone wrong and became very unpopular. Then Josie, with everyone expecting the worst of her saved the bay from Brett Macklin and she became very popular.

26. Bobby Simpson/Morgan/Marshall (44 points) ▼3

Played by Nicolle Dickson
Bobby was the big draw in the early years of Home and Away. If a storyline wanted to be known as a storyline, it involved Bobby. Fisher hated her, he turned out to be her father. She hated Morag who turned out to be her mother. She married twice before being killed by Adam hitting a log on his speedboat.

27. Kim Hyde (43 points) ▼4

Played by Chris Hemsworth
Kim was affectionally known as "The Plank" in his early days. However his acting has improved. His stories haven't been changed however. He still has stories that have him finding out children he thought were his actually aren't and numerous relationship storylines.

28. Lucas Holden (39 points) ►NEW

Played by Rhys Wakefield
Brought in as Henry's replacement. Conveniently he was also Matilda's replcament sidekick and happened not to be her brother, which finally comes in very handy when writing a romance story. Not that your lover being your sibling has stopped Home and Away in the past. However he probably has had just around the same number of storylines as Henry.

29. Angel Brooks/Parrish (37 points) ▼9

Played by Melissa George
Angel was as big as Ben Hur in the middle of the 90's. In tandem with Shane they became everyone's favourite couple. Ten years on and many viewers of that era now work on the stock exchange and come home to watch Newsnight. Don't let this lowly position fool you.

30. Matilda Hunter (36 points) ▲26

Played by Indiana Evans
Matilda was fairly new to the bay when the first poll took place. She has also been given some storylines since, which probably also helps her cause.

30= Flynn Saunders (36 points) ▼2

Played by Martin Dingle-Wall & Joel McIlroy
Recently deceased Flynn, one of a few characters to have undergone face changing plastic surgery. Whilst most of his stories were run of the mill and uninspiring, his final, terminal cancer storyline had great acting, great writing and was just great.

32. Selina Cook/Roberts (35 points) ▲6

Played by Tempany Deckert & Louise Crawford
Some of you may be shocked to find out that Selina was played by two actresses, but Tempany fell ill during 1996 and so Louise took over. Apparently producers thought that she was so good they offered her a job full time. We are still waiting.

33. Robbie Hunter (34 points) ▼23

Played by Jason Smith
Robbie has dropped down the rankings dramatically in the past two year. Different and quirky when he first arrived, his character is now strained and tired, he shouts a lot, and his position has reflected that.

34. Will Smith (32 points) ▼4

Played by Zac Drayson
So some brainiac in the name giving department decided that the first Smith should share his name with the famous actor. One thing is sure, Zac Drayson isn't going to becoming a famous actor, he probably has more chance of becoming an infamous actor. On recent returns it appeared he was auditioning for the Hair Bear Bunch until realising they were cartoon characters. Zac's performances were usually as 2D.

35. Marilyn Chambers/Fisher (31 points) ▲1

Played by Emily Symons
Emily played ditzy Marilyn in two different stints over a period of ten years. Apparently playing Marilyn was simple according to Emily. Well Marilyn was pretty simple, providing years of comic relief. Towards the end, the moments of comedy drifted into moments of tragedy.

36. Chloe Richards/Fraser (30 points) ▲14

Played by Kristy Wright
Chloe returned for just three weeks last year to be killed and shoots up the standings. She was raped by teh psychotic Brad and fell for both of the brothers Fraser, except she didn't really love James and left a week later. At least Chloe returned last year bearing the good news that Selina and Steven were back together.

37. Sarah Lewis (29 points) ►NEW

Played by Luisa Hastings-Edge
Sarah shot three people in her three months on the show. She missed Jesse from point black range, then shot Noah before shooting herself. However we never saw her shooting herself so despite it being witnessed by half the bay rumour persisted that she was the Summer Bay stalker. Dramatic license and all that. Oh, and she killed Felix.

37= Cassie Turner (29 points) ►NEW

Played by Sharni Vinson
Cassie has divided opinions in her year or so on the show. Complaints have ranged from being too orange, too skinny and too old for the role. Others feel that Sharni is a skilled actress and age is just a number.

OK, here's a joke. What's brown and sticky?

39. Donald Fisher (25 points) ▼27

Played by Norman Coburn
Fisher in numbers:
4 children, 3 dead
3 wives, 2 divorces
3 houses, 1 subsides, 1 burns down
2 grandchildren, 1 paralysed

No wonder he decided to leave the bay. Personally I would have done it earlier than 15 years.

40. Ailsa Hogan/Stewart (23 points) ▼14

Played by Judy Nunn & Nancye Hayes
Probably everyone's favourite convicted killer. Knifed her father to death, but we will forgive her for that. He apparently wasn't very nice. Throughout her 13 years in the show she had numerous breakdowns and was then left to die in a lake by her son. She died of a heart attack after lifting boxes after missing heart appointment earlier in the day. A bit of an anti-climax.
