Welcome to the very first Summer Bay News. This is the internet newsletter created by Home And Away fans for Home And Away fans. The newsletter is completely interactive. Please e-mail your contributions to me.

Each newsletter starts with a Home And Away quote. If you hear some funny dialogue on the show and think it would make a good quote send it to me! Thanks. This issue's quote comes from Rebecca Fisher talking to her father when he was making breakfast for Marilyn!

INTERVIEWS

One of the best ways to get material for this newsletter, I found, was to interview people in chat forums! The opening line "Do you watch Home And Away" triggered abusive comments from some people and great conversations from others. Here are the interviews I have managed to get so far...

EDITOR: Who is your favourite character?

LIANNE: Jesse

EDITOR: What did you think of the earthquake?

LIANNE: Has that been recently?

EDITOR: Last year

LIANNE: Oh sorry - I don't remember there being one - maybe I'm not the best person for this!

EDITOR: Well, you're the first! When did you last watch it?

LIANNE: A few days ago - I have to go.

EDITOR: Do you watch Home And Away?

SMOOTHY: Of course!

EDITOR: Would you be good enough to write something for my newsletter?

SMOOTHY: I hate Selina

EDITOR: Why?

SMOOTHY: Bad actress

SMOOTHY: Fisher

EDITOR: Why?

SMOOTHY: I like older men

EDITOR: Oh! What do you think of the Teigan storyline?

SMOOTHY: Its realistic, and a new idea for once.

EDITOR: Do you like her hairstyle?

SMOOTHY: No!!!!!

EDITOR: Are you sad about the news that Selina is leaving?

SMOOTHY: I didn't know she was leaving. Do you like Marilyn?

EDITOR: Well she is, and Shannon. Are you sad about that one?

SMOOTHY: No. Are you sad about Shane dying?

EDITOR: Yes, I was sad about Shane dying and yes I do like Marylin!

TOP TEN LISTS

If you don't want to get involved by writing about recent episodes, how about a top ten list? You could write one about the top 10 annoying things about Marylin, the top 10 best characters, the top 10 stupid story lines, or ANYTHING! Send them all to the same address. This list is by me, the editor and is the top ten characters we want to return.

#10 Lynne Davenport. She was the first to leave, it would be nice to see how she reacts to the changes.

#9 Dodge. Did we see the last of him when he fell off that cliff?

#8 Tom Fletcher. But there's not much chance of that!

#7 Lance Smart. He was always amusing with his dumb dialogue. His mum, Colline recently hinted that he may return!

#6 Angel Parrish. There was a big gap left in Summer Bay when she left and it still has not been filled.

#5 Pippa Fletcher number one (Vanessa Downing). If Debra Lawrence ever leaves they could get the old Pippa back to replace her!

#4 Shane Parrish. No one wanted Shane to die. But there's not much chance of him coming back now!

#3 Greg Marshall. Its about time Sam remembered that he does have a dad!

#2 Finlay Roberts. She has been back a few times recently but we'd all love to see her back permanently!

#1 Bobby Smipson. Everyone loved Bobby! She has returned once since her death, out of Ailsa's fridge! Maybe she could try again, out of Pippa's freezer or something!

LIANNE: Hi Summer Bay - like I said I'm mailing back!!!

Ok - Jessie's my favorite character because he just is. At the moment Teegan was/is the most annoying. But all round Donald Fisher 'cause he's been in it for ages - and now he should just leave or die or something.

I think him & Maralyn is disgusting becuase he's just old and they don't suit!

About the earthquake - now I remember. It was a kind of unrealistic story line and I don't think it would have been that bad. But there u go!

Well I dunno what else to write - but if you need my help again - then just catch me on the net or mail me!!!

DONALD FISHER POLL

Well, there's some varied opinions about Donald 'Flathead' Fisher in this issue! Smoothy likes him and Lianne thinks he should die. Do you like or dislike Donald Fisher? Please e-mail and say whether you like or dislike him. I will print the results in issue two!
